Fate Trading System – Chapter 128

Plan A

Interstellar Guardian 13

Love

Su Xin was very worried. Unless they had a spaceship, there was no way for them to leave this planet full of insects.

The three of them had no way to eliminate all the insects on the entire planet, let alone with the Queen’s presence. The mechas of Renee and Moran couldn’t even move.

Su Xin told Renee about the three-meter requirement, emphasizing it specifically, fearing she wouldn’t believe it.

“Who exactly are you? You’re not Ge Wei?”

Renee narrowed her eyes, her posture sharp and alert.

“I am.”

“You’re not.”

How could a regular Alpha have such abilities? Even down to the precision of three meters.

“Who I am is not important, Commander. You only need to understand that I came to protect you, until the end of my life.”

Su Xin spoke softly, and indeed she wasn’t lying – that was the absolute truth.

“You came for me?”

“You could understand it that way.”

Renee’s doubts weren’t resolved; instead, she sank into even deeper confusion.

Her eyes reflected Su Xin’s shadow, then she suddenly turned her head away.

Moran awoke.

“General!”

Moran was still somewhat dizzy and disoriented, but upon seeing Renee, she instinctively stood straight and gave a military salute.

“Commander.”

Moran called out to Su Xin again, and even though Su Xin had been dismissed from her position, Moran still addressed her with this title since she was now alongside the General.

Renee responded coldly, leaning against the wall, while Su Xin explained the current situation to Moran.

“Why can you, Commander…”

Moran raised almost the same question.

“Who knows?”

Su Xin spread her hands dismissively, showing that there was nothing they could do if she chose not to tell.

Moran stood quietly to the side, secretly glancing at Renee, as silence fell over the cave.

Su Xin felt hungry, thinking about the insects outside.

“Are you hungry?”

Renee and Moran both shook their heads. Modern humans had very strong physical constitutions, and going without food for at least three days wasn’t a problem. Actually, Su Xin could do the same, but she wasn’t concerned about filling her stomach – it was the desire for taste that bothered her.

The tender meat of the insect beasts – it would taste so much better than nutrient liquid.

Mater Fourteen, can you protect two places?

【I can.】

Fourteen quickly understood Su Xin’s meaning. It could only follow Su Xin, but from the beginning, it had already replaced Su Xin’s mecha AI and taken control of her mecha.

These two places were Su Xin herself and her mecha. Su Xin wanted to hunt, but having two people stay within three meters of her was extremely inconvenient, and more people would make their target more obvious.

“General, enter my mecha now and control it. Hold Moran in its hand, this way you can also avoid the Queen’s tracking.”

“What about you?”

Renee asked this question before she could even process the shock of how casually this person offered her precious mecha.

“I’m going to find something to fill our stomachs. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be back soon. If there’s any problem, contact me through the light brain.”

Su Xin left immediately, carrying a laser gun, looking incredibly cool.

For a mecha warrior, nothing is more important than their mecha, at least when they don’t have a spare one, let alone allowing others to enter it.

Renee touched the pendant that still retained Su Xin’s body warmth, walked outside the cave and entered the mecha, using its mechanical arms to hold Moran in its palm.

Renee examined this mecha. Its configuration wasn’t as good as her own, though she had previously modified this mecha, focusing mainly on internal optimization.

Why wasn’t the AI in here controlled by the Queen?

Su Xin didn’t care what Renee thought. No matter how much she pondered, she would never guess that Su Xin possessed technology from a civilization more advanced than their current era. And even if she did figure it out, so what? Tsk.

This place was relatively cold, with temperatures lower than where they came from. This was fine for Su Xin, but not so good for the insects.

Because of the lower temperature, the insect beasts were more sparsely distributed, making it easier for Su Xin to handle them.

After taking down an insect beast, Su Xin cut off one of its legs and seared it with the laser gun. Soon, a fragrant smell wafted up – the smell of food.

Perhaps due to the environment, the insect beasts here seemed to have thicker shells than the one she encountered last time, and the meat inside was sweeter.

After eating her fill, Su Xin brought back one each for Renee and Moran.

Renee exited the mecha state and hung the pendant back around Su Xin’s neck, looking at the fragrant but very insect-beast-like body parts in Su Xin’s hands.

“Commander, here, it’s very delicious.”

Inside the horn-like shell was white meat, with semi-transparent jelly-like fat. As the shell shook, the solidified food inside would gently wobble, releasing an enticing fragrant aroma that filled their nostrils.

Moran swallowed her saliva and accepted the horn.

“Commander, is this insect beast meat?”

“Mm-hmm.”

“Who would have thought that something so ugly could taste so good.”

Moran ate while inwardly marveling at the soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture, her eyes narrowing in happiness.

“Not bad.”

After resolving the food issue, the three of them fell back into silence.

After Su Xin had left, Renee discovered that her light brain had been destroyed, and so had Moran’s.

But Su Xin discovered that hers was broken too.

【It wasn’t done by the Queen.】

Fourteen’s mechanical voice carried a hint of frustration, as this was something it hadn’t guarded against.

【Someone accessed the authority terminal and deactivated all three of your light brains.】

Oh well.

Su Xin explained the situation to Renee, who nodded, appearing very calm, as if this was within her expectations.

Moran wasn’t so calm – she opened and closed her mouth, the color draining from her face.

The General’s authority terminal was already at a very high level in the Federation. Those who could access the light-network terminal to modify her permissions were very few, and without doubt, it must be that person.

If it was that person, it meant that the three of them had been abandoned by the Federation.

Becoming discarded pieces in the national game, Moran couldn’t understand.

Why had they so easily dismissed the General’s abilities? However, without Su Xin this time, the three of them probably wouldn’t have been able to survive. It seemed the General wasn’t all-powerful after all.

Moran’s heart tightened as she brushed away the thoughts in her mind – how could she have such ideas, actually doubting the General’s abilities.

If even die-hard fans were wavering for a moment, the ordinary public was in complete chaos.

Though they’d been out of contact for less than 24 hours, different voices had already emerged on the light-network, from initial disbelief to later acceptance that anything was possible.

The same public who had placed Renee on a pedestal were now gradually pulling their god down from it. Only a small portion firmly believed Renee would return, another small portion believed she definitely wouldn’t, while most remained neutral. They rationally understood that a General trapped in the insect beasts’ stronghold had little chance of returning, yet they clung to a tiny hope – what if…

【Look at yourselves now, you who claimed to be the General’s fans! When the General returns, please don’t come back as fans. Don’t lower the quality of us true General fans. The General doesn’t need supporters like you. Disgusting!】

Such accusatory comments were numerous on the light brain network, but those grass on the wall (a Chinese idiom for people who sway with the wind) who immediately changed their stance didn’t care.

“General, what should we do now?”

Moran asked anxiously.

“Wait.”

Renee was always treating words like gold in front of others, never willing to say one word more than necessary.

When Renee said wait, they waited for Su Xin. Renee didn’t seem anxious; given her character, she surely had a backup plan, probably prepared before coming. This woman would never let herself be trapped in a desperate situation.

Seeing Su Xin and Renee so relaxed, Moran also calmed down, sitting beside Su Xin, resting her chin in her hands, lost in thought.

This planet also had day and night, and night came quickly.

The temperature difference between day and night wasn’t great, but as the coldest place on this planet, the night was still much colder than day, making teeth chatter involuntarily.

There was no wind, but cold air invaded from outside, causing chills.

The cave was one-directional – if they completely blocked the entrance, oxygen would quickly be depleted. The problem was they had nothing to block it with; the cave was empty.

Moran wasn’t an A-type, and although her physical condition was good, she couldn’t compare to Su Xin and Renee, and soon started shivering.

Su Xin hadn’t forgotten this girl was actually an Omega, just disguised with suppressants. Though physically stronger than typical Omegas, she was still somewhat delicate. If she got sick now, it would cause considerable trouble.

Su Xin took off her outer coat and threw it to Moran, who put it on, looking gratefully at Su Xin before curling up in the corner and closing her eyes.

Renee frowned slightly in displeasure, but she hid her emotions well. She unbuttoned her own clothes and draped them over Su Xin. Su Xin, sitting very close to her, shared half the clothing back.

Renee tilted her head, meeting Su Xin’s eyes.

Outside was the cold night, but inside the cave, their entanglement added a touch of heat.

Su Xin’s head was held in place by Renee, unable to avoid.

In the fierce contest, the kiss between women could be so wild.

Su Xin felt herself released, looking at Renee who remained seemingly calm as if nothing had happened, though the silver thread on her rouge lips betrayed everything. Su Xin raised an eyebrow and kissed her again.

Sweet and soft, slow and gentle, parting instantly, like a dragonfly touching water, leaving only the faintest ripples.

The snow plain’s ice completely collapsed, revealing new green – the color of spring.

Renee watched Su Xin leaning against the wall with closed eyes, remembering her playful expression after the kiss.

She pressed her chest expressionlessly, the turmoil there causing her pain.

Is this love?

Renee fell into unprecedented confusion.
