Su Xin and she exchanged a glance, immediately understanding her meaning.
Renee seemed to have absolute confidence that she couldn’t defeat her.
Su Xin felt her fighting spirit stirred within, but she kept it well contained.
She hadn’t tried yet, so she didn’t know Renee’s true capabilities.
While Renee told her to give it her all, Su Xin had her own calculations in mind.
She wasn’t planning to reveal all her abilities, not because she didn’t trust Renee – though she truly didn’t trust her that much either.
Although Su Xin told herself this was someone she needed to protect with all her heart and strength, she couldn’t just blindly trust like a brain-dead fan.
However, her previous words were all true – she would follow Renee no matter what, as that was her mission after all.
Renee wore a military uniform, which was natural since this was the military department, but it was different from the regular combat uniform or formal occasions’ attire, being more suitable for movement.
Renee rolled up her sleeves, undid a couple of buttons, and stood straight.
Su Xin directly took off her outer jacket, revealing the work tank top underneath.
The two exchanged a glance and immediately became entangled in combat, without needing any command.
In the space, Ge Wei twitched her eye corner, loudly calling out to that cool handsome guy she saw earlier.
Fourteen didn’t appear physically but directly asked what was wrong.
Fourteen usually didn’t communicate with clients during missions, and clients were typically quiet. But this was Fourteen’s first time having a body, plus this client’s personality and identity were different, and then there was… that big ding-ding.
Although Fourteen was just data, it had seen many things, and moreover, its designer was male, and all system settings were male, so when Su Xin chopped off the ding-ding, Fourteen couldn’t help but shudder.
Seeing Ge Wei nearly going crazy rolling around in its space, but with the pitiful expression of touching her crotch to find her ding-ding still there, Fourteen decided to say something.
Ge Wei’s presence here was just a spiritual form, so whatever happened to her body naturally had no effect on her already separated spirit, but Ge Wei seemed to have taken a huge psychological blow.
She was probably the first Alpha in the history of the Galaxy Chronicles without a ding-ding.
“What’s going on?”
Ge Wei pointed at her big screen, Fourteen looked over, seeing a mosaic blur between Su Xin and Renee.
Fourteen paused for a moment, then began explaining mechanically.
“When the host has any close physical contact with anyone, there will be mosaic protection. Please understand, this is necessary.”
To protect privacy, Fourteen couldn’t judge when and how Su Xin would interact with others, so it simply applied mosaics whenever there was physical contact.
Although Ge Wei didn’t know what mosaic meant, she understood when she saw that blurred thing.
Long ago, in increasingly open times, such things as mosaics had been abandoned.
She just wanted to watch a fight, but this hopeless mosaic always made her feel like she was watching something inappropriate.
Su Xin was focusing intently on facing Renee’s attacks.
Renee’s attack style was domineering, using offense as defense, seemingly giving the enemy no opportunity.
Like a sharp sword, carrying an unstoppable aura.
Su Xin swallowed, resisting the impulse to grab the person in front of her by the throat and end her life.
“Is this all you’ve got?”
Renee threw Su Xin to the ground, her long hair slightly disheveled.
Su Xin rolled with the momentum and swept sideways; Renee was too close and ended up being pinned down.
Su Xin’s glands hadn’t been removed, and during attacks, she still emitted strong pheromones.
Renee twitched her nose, looking confused.
“Your pheromone scent…”
Logically, Renee shouldn’t find an Alpha’s scent pleasant or want to fight; she had smelled many Alpha pheromones, and without exception, they all made her feel irritated and agitated.
Betas shouldn’t have particularly strong perception of pheromones, they wouldn’t release very strong pheromones either, and their sensitivity to interference should be less acute, but it was well-known that General Renee was quite sensitive to pheromones.
Some speculated that Renee might have become sensitive to scents due to past trauma.
“What’s wrong?”
Su Xin was still pressing down on Renee; she didn’t feel any particular scent on herself, though she had indeed uncontrollably released her pheromones just now, carrying aggressive intent.
This was something uncontrollable; although Su Xin was an outsider, she would naturally release what was in her body.
It was like a bodily instinct, deeply embedded in the genes wrapped in flesh and blood.
Su Xin smelled her own scent, not sweat, but a very fresh mint fragrance.
Ah, how strange.
“Very special, like the scent of alcohol.”
Renee said slowly.
Alcohol?
So this scent smells different to different people?
Mint and alcohol – that’s too big of a difference.
After speaking, Renee’s knee struck Su Xin’s stomach, suddenly flipping positions.
In the system space, Ge Wei saw the dense mosaic before her eyes and fell silent. She lay down on the floor, closing her eyes and deciding to sleep.
The two began fighting on the floor. Renee stood up sideways, while Su Xin hooked her leg and curved past her front, coolly standing up.
Su Xin couldn’t read Renee’s moves, and neither could Renee, but Renee also discovered something interesting.
“Your fighting moves weren’t taught at the military academy, were they?”
Renee stared at Su Xin, those vicious and tricky moves weren’t what the military academy would teach.
“Self-taught.”
Su Xin tidied her hair.
She had short hair; during military training, some sparring opponents would use dirty tricks, and long hair was hard to maintain, so the original host had cut it short.
To be honest, if no one had stopped her then, the original host would have shaved herself completely bald.
Her aesthetic sense was concerning and toxic (refers to having questionable and harmful taste in beauty standards).
“Very good, your learning ability is strong. If your mecha skills are equally excellent, you’ll become a great soldier.”
Renee said affirmatively, because she had just discovered that when she used one of her combat techniques, after a few exchanges, Su Xin could cleverly return it to her.
This wasn’t a talent everyone possessed. As for why she said “become a great soldier” rather than “general,” Renee felt that required brains.
In the history of the Galaxy Chronicles, there had been many formidable soldiers, but outstanding generals were few and far between.
Renee believed that if Su Xin were smart enough, she wouldn’t have recklessly revealed what she knew, and her light brain was damaged without her knowledge. Although she managed to perform a space jump in time, putting oneself in a passive position was not a wise move.
If everything she did was to meet her and stay by her side, then it would all make sense.
Renee’s heart raised high alert as she watched the woman catching her breath before her.
If this was intentional, what a terrifying thing it would be. Many people wanted to kill her, and experience taught her not to trust anyone easily.
But what if it was true? A faint voice echoed in Renee’s mind.
If it was true… Renee touched her palm, looking at Su Xin who had already recovered normal breathing, showing a meaningful expression.
“General, shall we continue?”
Su Xin was eager to try. Renee was truly strong; after all, her reputation as a general wasn’t for nothing. She earned it not only with her brain but also with her strength.
“No need, you’ve already passed. Next, we’ll test your mecha combat ability. But you should know that by my side, you’ll deal with humans more often than beast insects, and if we go to the battlefield, you’ll be with me in the most dangerous places.”
“Understood!”
Su Xin stood at attention with her legs together and gave a military salute, her expression solemn.
“Follow me.”
This was Su Xin’s second time touching a mecha, and she felt a bit excited when sitting in it.
Not long ago, she had only managed to perform a space jump, relying on body memory. Su Xin quickly mastered the operations, and the AI robot on the screen was waiting for its master’s commands.
Wow, interesting!
Su Xin suddenly had a bold idea, looking at the simple blue sprite-shaped AI robot on the screen, inspiration struck.
Lord Fourteen, can you come in and replace it?
【Hmm… I’ll try.】
Fourteen hadn’t expected her to ask this, but it seemed possible. There were no rules against it, and it wouldn’t violate the world’s rules either.
The round blue sprite on the screen transformed into a cold, devastatingly handsome face (refers to an exceptionally beautiful face that could cause the downfall of a nation), making Su Xin’s eyes light up.
Golden finger! (refers to a game-changing advantage or cheat code, originally from gaming terminology)
The safety factor has increased by n times!
Fourteen appeared on the screen in a full-body Q version (refers to a cute, chibi-style representation), looking somewhat adorable.
Fourteen received all the mecha’s data and nodded to Su Xin.
“What are you spacing out for?”
The voice came from outside, and Su Xin snapped back to attention.
Mecha combat was another form of civilization’s collision.
Neither side used weapons because they weren’t needed.
Su Xin performed agile evasions while Fourteen helped monitor the data. His figure had disappeared from the light screen, which now displayed the outside view.
Su Xin was hopelessly immersed in controlling the mecha, a thrill far surpassing the sensation when she first held a gun handle. It was as if that long-dormant hot-blooded feeling had resurfaced.
The Father of Mechas once firmly declared that no one could resist the charm of mechas, and this quote was on the first page of the military academy’s first theoretical textbook on mecha operation principles.
Battle-worthy mechas represented not just weapons, but a form of faith.
Renee’s face showed a smile she wasn’t even aware of, and her attacks became increasingly swift and fierce. She wanted to see where this person’s – or rather, this mecha’s – limits lay.
【Host, according to calculations, without my intervention, you’ll be defeated within ten minutes.】
It wasn’t just about the mecha’s superiority, but also operational awareness and technique.
Renee’s skills were very practiced; ten minutes was Fourteen’s maximum estimate.
“Then I’ll hold out for eleven minutes to show you.”
The author has something to say:
Later during love-making…
Ge Wei: Huh? Fighting again?
This period’s rankings aren’t good, crying blue buff (gaming term referring to a power-up buff)
