Plan A
Rise in Another World 21
The Lang Family
“Huh?”
Lang Yan also looked at Nan Cheng. She couldn’t see anything unusual, but she always believed her brother’s words without a doubt.
“This is my brother, Lang Xun.”
Lang Yan introduced him while pushing Lang Xun inside.
Nan Cheng raised an eyebrow but didn’t respond to Lang Xun.
Lang Xun didn’t pursue the matter further. His gaze swept over the three people, lingering on Yu Si for a moment before settling on Su Xin.
Su Xin felt a bit uncomfortable, feeling like a prey being appraised.
Yu Si and Lang Xun exchanged a glance, their faces expressionless.
Nan Cheng seemed unaffected by the oppressive feeling emanating from Lang Xun. She held Su Xin’s hand, playing with her fingers.
Su Xin’s hands were very white, radiating a healthy glow. Her nails had a light pink tint, with cute white crescents on each one.
In Nan Cheng’s eyes, everything about Su Xin was perfect; there wasn’t a single imperfect part of her.
“Are you here to find someone?” Lang Xun asked naturally, having overheard something at the door.
“Mm-hmm,” Su Xin nodded.
“Brother, help them find her mother. Oh… right, what are your names?” Lang Yan seemed to suddenly realize that the three people in front of her hadn’t introduced themselves.
“Duanmu Furan, Yu Si, Nan Cheng.” Su Xin introduced them one by one. They were about to introduce themselves earlier but were interrupted by Lang Yan’s question.
The names rolled off her tongue with a twist. She decided to use their real names, even though this place felt strange. So far, Lang Yan had been very enthusiastic.
“But she doesn’t know her mother’s name.”
“Do you remember what she looks like?”
“I do, but it’s very blurry.”
Which meant she couldn’t draw it or describe it.
It was as good as not saying anything at all.
“I’ll keep an eye out.”
“Thank you very much.”
Su Xin continued to express gratitude. The brother and sister were both very enthusiastic, but she just couldn’t bring herself to like them. It was too strange.
Su Xin actually wanted to refuse because she didn’t want to owe anyone favors, but in this unfamiliar place where she knew nothing, she had no choice but to accept for now.
“Do you three have any plans for what’s next?”
“We’d like to go out and look around.”
Su Xin spoke for the group. The other two always supported her; it was clear who the leader of the trio was.
“Well…” Lang Yan frowned, looking troubled.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing. Don’t you want to rest first?”
“No need. We want to see what this place is like first.”
Su Xin politely declined.
“But…”
“Ladies, please go ahead. I’ll send someone to accompany you to prevent anyone from offending my guests. Remember to return early for dinner,” Lang Xun interrupted Lang Yan, speaking gently to Su Xin and the others.
“Thank you, Young Master Lang.”
Someone led Su Xin and her companions out. Lang Yan stomped her foot in place.
“Brother, there are three of them! They’ll definitely be targeted if they go out!”
“Don’t worry. After they see what the eighth floor is like, they’ll understand how safe it is here,” Lang Xun reassured his sister, his face still wearing a calm smile.
“Oh, right! You’re so smart, brother!” Lang Yan nodded, tapping her forehead.
“But brother, is that woman on the far side really a mythical beast?”
“Almost certainly.”
“Then we can’t have her.”
Lang Yan looked disappointed.
Lang Xun didn’t seem to mind, his eyes filled with calculation.
“Brother, wait for me for another twenty years or so. It’ll be very quick.”
Lang Yan’s voice lowered. She hugged Lang Xun, nuzzling his face intimately.
“Yan’er.” Lang Xun frowned, his words carrying a warning tone.
“Brother, don’t tell me you want me to… to be with someone else!”
Lang Yan said dissatisfied.
“Yan’er, I thought you had given up.”
“How could that be possible! Brother, I absolutely won’t let anyone else have you. If they can, why can’t I?”
“Yan’er, you’re different from them.”
“What’s the difference? Big brother and sixth brother…”
Lang Yan’s words trailed off under Lang Xun’s gaze.
“Where’s Xiao Feng?”
“He ran away. I killed him.”
Lang Yan stood up straight, speaking nonchalantly.
“The child in his belly…”
“Just a useless spirit body. Brother, you won’t sympathize, right?”
“Mm.” Lang Xun responded, seemingly without hesitation. Lang Yan smiled, happy with Lang Xun’s ruthlessness.
Even if there was brother’s child in the belly, it still had no value.
“Brother, which one do you want?”
“The second one.”
“The one who was speaking?”
“Mm.”
“Alright, then the first one…”
“We’ll see.”
The first one was Yu Si. Lang Xun didn’t particularly like that cold type; she looked like a big ice cube, which would make him lose patience.
The second one looked full of vitality. As for the third one…
A mythical beast that could take human form, probably a small creature from the seventh floor. How did it end up here?
The trio began to head out to explore the eighth floor.
“This is different from what I remember, but that’s normal. Back then, I only saw the entrance area briefly before leaving.”
So much time had passed; changes were to be expected.
Besides, when she first arrived, she saw an incredibly chaotic scene and could only hurriedly leave to avoid getting caught up in the turmoil.
Lang Yan’s people followed closely, not just behind but also to the left and right, essentially surrounding them on three sides.
They walked loosely, but could come together quickly if necessary.
This place was different from the towns outside. The buildings were still typical ancient architecture, but there were hardly any people on the streets; it was very spacious.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, Su Xin and her companions realized they had only just left the Lang family’s territory.
Because there was a gate there with “Lang” clearly written on it.
Su Xin: …
They walked so fast, having trained their speed, and Su Xin could walk even faster if she used her wind ability.
This place was really that big.
“Can you tell us about the structure of the eighth floor?” Su Xin asked one of the Lang family servants nearby.
The servant nodded and began to explain in a flat, monotonous voice.
The gist was that the eighth floor had four major families: the Lang family, the Ruyi family, the Lu family, and the Lin family. There was also an area for scattered residents.
These scattered residents didn’t belong to any family. Some might be outcasts from the families, others were outsiders who came to the Sky-reaching Tower to cultivate. The scattered residents were few in number but still managed to survive.
The four major families occupied almost 90% of the entire eighth floor’s land. 3% belonged to the scattered residents, and 7% was for the market and arena.
The servant also told them that they had only just walked out of one of the Lang family’s gates after all this time.
People on the eighth floor didn’t need to engage in any entertainment activities. Except for when the market opened for necessary trading, they all stayed in their homes to cultivate.
After all, their homes were very large, and they could stay anywhere they liked.
This also meant that finding someone would be extremely difficult.
Who knows which courtyard or which room in such a large house they might be in?
Since this place was so big, they would have to elegantly use their abilities to move around. It would be great if they had some kind of vehicle.
Su Xin quickened her pace. Nan Cheng was naturally fast, and even Su Xin using her wind ability might not be able to match Nan Cheng’s speed.
Su Xin pulled Yu Si forward, and Nan Cheng held her hand.
They sped up, and the people around them seemed to have some difficulty keeping up. Su Xin slowed down, estimating the servants’ abilities.
The market wasn’t open yet. It usually opened during the New Year, and the eighth floor’s climate was synchronized with the seventh floor. It was currently winter, which meant the market opening time wasn’t far off.
Su Xin didn’t know where to go. There was nothing to see here; everyone seemed to be cultivation fanatics.
How could they find someone without meeting anyone?
Su Xin and her companions returned after walking around. Apart from the people following them, they didn’t see a single person. This place was like a dead city, cold and lifeless.
Lang Xun pushed his wheelchair into his room. On his bed, there was a person tied up.
It was a pale and beautiful man, his hands and feet tightly bound with silk. What was strange was his swollen belly, with faint blue patterns on the stretched white skin.
“Elder brother, how do you feel today?”
Lang Xun stood up from his wheelchair, feeling the pain in his legs. He leaned on the bed, caressing the man’s belly.
The man refused to open his eyes and didn’t answer.
Lang Xun lay on top of the man, skillfully exploring a warm, moist place with his fingers, feeling the man’s body tremble.
The pregnant man’s body had become increasingly sensitive, letting out a sound close to crying.
Lang Xun’s face always wore a playful expression, seemingly satisfied with the reaction he was causing.
Lang Xun put his half-hard member into the man’s passage, feeling the ultimate pleasure.
“Elder brother, three women came from outside today.”
Women…?
The man reacted to these words, immediately opening his eyes, looking at Lang Xun almost tearfully.
“Are you happy?”
“Let me go… let me go…”
The man begged, feeling Lang Xun moving inside him, seeming to come alive, having found the will to survive.
“The woman I’m interested in seems hard to deceive. What do you think I should do?”
“I’ll help you!”
As long as he could leave… as long as he could escape from his side…
“Oh? How do you plan to help me? Use your bewitching skills? Elder brother, you really haven’t changed at all. Even after being locked up and lying beneath me for so many years, you’re still just as vicious.”
Lang Xun said softly, his faint mockery sounding like lovers’ whispers. The man’s expression became difficult.
So much time had passed. Yes, he had ruined Lang Xun with his own hands, and now…
Lang Yi looked at his own belly, his face full of pain.
“Elder brother, I believe in you. You can do it, right?”
“If… will you let me go… and… the child…”
“Elder brother, you’re talking nonsense again. What child do we have?”
Lang Xun caressed Lang Yi’s body, pressing hard on his belly, enjoying Lang Yi’s intense contractions and his pained expression.
