The Passerby Female Supporting Character – Chapter 26
by Little PandaAngry
Song Linlin felt that her thoughts were indeed a bit perverted, but after being bitten several times, the fear of this act was long gone. Moreover, this bite was very light, and upon careful reflection, she found it rather pleasurable.
As long as the absorbed magic power wasn’t excessive, it wouldn’t cause too much weakness. Song Linlin currently only felt her consciousness slightly fatigued.
This wasn’t a serious problem. She just happened to be sleepy but couldn’t fall asleep. She hadn’t expected a pre-sleep bite would have this effect.
Thinking this, Song Linlin had even less resistance. She just lay there quietly, letting the other person bite her, even enjoying it.
Chi Qianning didn’t bite for too long. After a while, she released her teeth. She looked at Song Linlin’s slightly flushed face, herself breathing lightly. Her fingers caressed the bitten wound, bringing a tingling itch and pain.
“Mmm⦔
Song Linlin couldn’t help but moan. When the other’s fingers moved away, the bitten wound had completely healed, leaving no trace. Only the reddened skin from the kiss and the remaining moisture evidenced what had just transpired.
βDon’t bite me.β Chi Qianning looked away from Song Linlinβs neck and met her gaze, speaking slowly.
Song Linlin guiltily averted her eyes. A faint stinging sensation lingered where she’d been bitten. She couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t bite the other person again, only vaguely saying: βI know.β
Feeling a subtle shift in the atmosphere, Song Linlin shrank her neck and buried her head in the covers, her muffled voice emerging: βI’m sleepy. I’m going to sleep.β
Seeing that she had seemingly agreed, Chi Qianning didn’t press the matter. The two lay quietly in bed. After being drained by Chi Qianning, Song Linlin’s fatigue deepened, and she soon fell asleep.
When she was woken up, it was already noon. Song Linlin didn’t know how long she had slept. Zhiyu had come knocking, telling her to get up for lunch.
Song Linlin opened her eyes groggily. She was now a Golden Core cultivator and could go without sleep or mortal food for extended periods, but she clearly wasn’t planning to give those up.
She yawned. Beside her, Chi Qianning slowly opened her eyes. Song Linlin sat up, her hair a mess. She said to the person still lying beside her: βI’m going to eat.β
“Mmm.”
Chi Qianning had never had much desire for human food. In all these days, apart from the few lotus seeds that Song Linlin had personally peeled and fed her, she hadn’t even looked at anything else.
Song Linlin got out of bed and briefly combed her tangled hair. Looking at Chi Qianning on the bed, she was curious. Chi Qianningβs hair was much longer than hers, yet it never seemed to tangle.
Before leaving, Song Linlin added: βI’ll be back after I eat. We should be packing up and leaving after that.β
Chi Qianning didn’t react much, simply nodding in acknowledgment.
Song Linlin went downstairs. Ye Tingran and Zhiyu were already waiting. Having had the morning to heal, Ye Tingran’s complexion was much better than before.
After Song Linlin had slipped upstairs that morning, Ye Tingran had given Zhiyu a detailed account of their experience at Luofeng Temple. Learning that Song Linlin had become an early-stage Golden Core cultivator and even slain Xing Jiu left Zhiyu utterly speechless with shock.
Had she not trusted Ye Tingran’s serious nature, she would have suspected she was making it all up.
Now, seeing Song Linlin, Zhiyu couldn’t help but say: “Song-shimei, you truly hide your abilities well. It’s my fault for being blind. I never realized that among us, Song-shimei has the highest cultivation level.”
Song Linlin smiled awkwardly. She felt embarrassed by the praise, as it was all thanks to Chi Qianning, though the others didn’t know that.
Sitting at the table, Song Linlin thought for a moment, then said to the other two: “Ye-shijie, Zhiyu-shijie, aboutβ¦the matter of me killing Xing Jiu, could you please keep it a secret? Just say that Ye-shijie defeated Xing Jiu and I only assisted from the side?”
Song Linlin felt she needed to keep a low profile. After all, she had been truly weak before. Now, after a single training trip down the mountain, she had suddenly become strong. While Ye Tingran and Zhiyu believed her, it was only because they were close and didn’t harbor suspicions.
If others were to find out, they would definitely be curious about her sudden advancement. If it aroused the suspicion of certain elders, things could get messy.
Song Linlin couldn’t withstand scrutiny. Embracing the principle of “less trouble is better,” she decided she couldn’t take the credit.
Ye Tingran was slightly puzzled but didn’t ask too much. She figured that since Song Linlin had chosen not to reveal her strength before, there must be a reason. Now that she had defeated Xing Jiu, helping her with this small request was no problem.
Nodding, Ye Tingran agreed, “Alright. But then most of the credit for returning to the sect will go to me. I’ll compensate you with other things later, Song-shimei.”
Song Linlin hadn’t expected compensation. This was a pleasant surprise. She exclaimed again: “Ye-shijie, you are such a good person!”
Zhiyu naturally agreed to keep Song Linlin’s secret. She hadn’t participated in the battle. Since Song Linlin, who had contributed the most, was asking for the credit to be downplayed, she couldn’t very well say anything.
After the meal, Zhiyu said: βLetβs pack our luggage. The others left this morning. Weβll leave shortly and should be able to catch up with them if we hurry.β
Song Linlin had little luggage. She had only brought one set of clothes and a small amount of medicine pills down the mountain, so there wasn’t much to pack. She left the room with Chi Qianning.
Closing the door, Song Linlin felt relieved. This dreadful “descending the mountain for training” plotline was finally over. The upcoming storylines wouldn’t involve her.
Song Linlin had decided to avoid any potentially dangerous plots in the future. She simply wanted to retire within the sect and live a peaceful life.
βLetβs go, Song-shimei.β
Ye Tingran and Zhiyu were waiting downstairs. They had called for a carriage. Of course, they wouldn’t be traveling back by carriage, which would take half a month.
They first needed to go to a nearby large city. Within the city, there was a teleportation formation directly connected to Yunxin City at the foot of Xuanyun Sect’s mountain.
They had come this way, bypassing other routes. It was a way the sect protected its newer disciples.
The first descent of inner disciples naturally required some protection. For example, the locations chosen were all relatively close to the sect, with major sect outposts nearby.
Moreover, the teleportation formation was free to use. Each use was normally quite expensive. Aside from new disciples on their first descent, others had to find their own way.
The horses pulling their carriage were not ordinary horses but a type of low-level, easily tamed demonic beast. They were several times faster than ordinary horses. The three of them fit comfortably in the carriage.
βWe should arrive in Shizhou City [η³ε·ε | ShΓzhΕu ChΓ©ng] by evening. The teleportation formation only opens at night. If we hurry, we should be able to catch today’s opening and meet up with the others.”
Song Linlin nodded. Ever since dealing with Xing Jiu, she had been completely relaxed. There were no dangerous plots awaiting her now, and she didn’t care how they returned to the sect.
Stepping out of the teleportation formation, Song Linlin marveled at this method of transportation. Before she could observe closely, the formation lit up, transporting the group to another city.
Yunxin City was a famous place. Song Linlin walked with the others along the bustling streets. Despite the nightfall, the streets were still crowded.
βCome on, Song-shimei.β Zhiyu glanced back at the lagging Song Linlin, reminding her.
Song Linlin snapped back to attention and hurried to catch up, walking at the rear of the group. Chi Qianning strolled beside her, invisible to the others.
“Shall we come down and play another day?” Song Linlin whispered to Chi Qianning.
She had previously lived in a small town and, after being brought to Xuanyun Sect, had spent most of her time cultivating on the mountain. She never knew that such a bustling city lay at its foot.
It was very different from a modern city. Along the way, she saw all sorts of strange things. Song Linlin, unfamiliar with such sights, was very curious.
Chi Qianning didn’t care where they went. Though she had little interest, she nodded slightly, “Alright.”
Receiving a positive response, Song Linlin’s mood brightened. They didn’t return to the sect until late at night.
Initially, Song Linlin had been nervous about ascending the mountain. The seemingly endless white jade staircase was said to be able to detect demonic qi and all sorts of sinister things. However, Chi Qianning walked all the way up without incident, easing Song Linlin’s worries.
Xuanyun Sect was vast. The outer sect alone occupied a large mountain range, while the inner sect was several times larger, divided into four different areas based on the four largest mountain ranges. Reaching the inner sect required using short-distance teleportation formations.
Finally back in familiar territory, everyone said their goodbyes. Ye Tingran, as the team leader, needed to report on the details of the training trip.
Song Linlin returned to her residence with Chi Qianning. Inner sect disciples enjoyed decent living conditions. Unlike the outer sect, where two or three people shared a room, inner disciples had their own individual residences.
Song Linlin lived in a secluded and quiet place. This wasn’t due to a preference for tranquility but rather a lack of choice. The areas with abundant spiritual qi were naturally reserved for disciples with great talent or strong abilities.
She was among the weaker inner disciples and had been assigned to this location. However, Song Linlin was quite satisfied with it. Seclusion meant that no one would normally come by and no one would pay attention to her.
Pushing open the door, the interior remained as she had left it. Having been away for several days, a thin layer of dust had settled in some areas.
Song Linlin turned to Chi Qianning, slightly embarrassed: “Should I clean up before you come in?”
If she lived alone, it wouldn’t matter. Song Linlin wasn’t a particularly tidy person. But now that Chi Qianning would be living here too, seeing her cold and refined aura, she felt like she was imposing.
“No need to bother.”
Chi Qianning casually cast a spell, instantly making the place spotless. She entered first, naturally pushing open the bedroom door.
Song Linlin followed closely. The bedroom was simply furnished without much clutter. Song Linlin didn’t own many personal belongings.
The bed in the room wasn’t large, designed for a single person and certainly not as spacious as the ones in the inns.
“We’ll have to sleep close together. Do you mind?”
Song Linlin felt the question was redundant. They had already slept in each other’s arms; cuddling together now seemed like nothing. Still, she asked, and Chi Qianning shook her head.
“You sleep on the inside?”
Song Linlin lifted the covers and turned to ask. After all, Chi Qianning had always huddled in the corner of the bed during their time at the inn.
“Mmm.”
Chi Qianning lay down on the innermost side. Song Linlin lay down beside her. They fit together without feeling cramped, with no risk of falling off the bed if they turned over.
Looking at the beautiful profile of the person next to her at such close range, Song Linlin felt wide awake. She had slept through the morning and was now back at the sect, lying in the same bed as Chi Qianning. She felt a strange novelty. She had always slept alone in this place, rarely having visitors, let alone someone sharing her bed.
Song Linlin lay on her side, playing with a strand of Chi Qianning’s silver hair. Looking at her still-pale face, she suddenly remembered that Chi Qianning’s condition wasn’t optimal. She was staying with her to recuperate.
However, the power Chi Qianning had displayed was so overwhelming that Song Linlin had almost forgotten her weakened state.
βChi Qianning.β Song Linlin blinked, looking at her.
βMmm?β Chi Qianning turned her head.
Song Linlin released the silver hair and met those red eyes. Her thoughts drifted to the future, and she asked absently: “How much longer until you recover? Will you leave when you’re fully recovered?”
The room fell silent. Noticing the other hadn’t responded after several seconds, Song Linlin came back to her senses and looked at Chi Qianning quizzically.
She found that the other’s bright red pupils had darkened, filled with a gloomy, malevolent aura. Chi Qianning suddenly flipped over, hovering above Song Linlin, and gripped her chin with considerable force, forcing Song Linlin to look up at her.
βWhat? Do you really want me to leave?β Her tone was far from friendly, laced with a gritted-teeth resentment and barely suppressed fury.
Feeling the pressure on her chin, Song Linlin stared blankly at Chi Qianning. The other had been so agreeable these days; it had been a long time since she’d been this fierce.
This startled Song Linlin. She felt as if the other’s anger was almost tangible. She quickly and anxiously explained: “No! I was just asking⦔
Her explanation didn’t help; it only seemed to enrage Chi Qianning further. Song Linlin watched her pupils contract, almost becoming vertical slits. Her heart pounded with panic, and she immediately continued to explain: “I don’t want you to leave! Don’t be angry!”
This seemed to calm the other’s anger somewhat, but only slightly. The fingers gripping her chin remained tight as Chi Qianning spoke, each word sharp: “Don’t ask.”
Song Linlin nodded rapidly, blinking to convey her sincerity. However, the next moment, Chi Qianning leaned in and forcefully kissed her sensitive neck.
The kiss was rough, not just forceful sucking but also light biting with her teeth. Because they weren’t fangs, they didn’t pierce the skin.
“Ah⦔
Song Linlin felt the other venting her anger with kisses and bites. Chi Qianning paid no heed to the force she used, nor whether the person beneath her was willing, treating it as a punishment.
Song Linlin didn’t dare push her away, fearing it would only anger her further. She could only endure it. Finally, Chi Qianning let go, panting as she looked at her. Her pale lips were now flushed from the forceful sucking.
“That hurts⦔ Song Linlin looked at her, complaining softly.
Chi Qianning looked at the bite marks and kiss marks covering Song Linlin’s white neck. She extended a thumb to wipe away a tear that was about to spill over and said, both angrily and helplessly: “Serves you right.”
With that, she released Song Linlin and turned her back, lying down, clearly no longer wanting to acknowledge her.
Song Linlin reached up and touched her neck covered in red marks, ignoring them for now. Only one thought filled her mind:
Sh*t. Shouldn’t have run my mouth.
What to do when Chi Qianning is angry?
The author has something to say:
I’m so bad at this, I’ve been writing for a long time, and it’s still so different from what I imagined.
