    Hug

As soon as these words were spoken, not only was Chi Qianning bewildered, but Song Linlin also felt like she’d had a brain fart [腦抽了 | nǎo chōule | a momentary lapse in reason] just now. Meeting the strange look from the person in front of her, she quickly asked another question, “I mean, are you going to sleep?”

“Uh… I plan to sleep now.”

No matter how Song Linlin explained, it still felt strange. Although they had slept together several times, this question sounded odd no matter how she phrased it.

Chi Qianning glanced at her indifferently, her scarlet eyes revealing no discernible emotion. Following Song Linlin’s words, she continued, her tone light and airy, “Is this your way of asking to sleep with me?”

Is she doing this on purpose?

How can she ask such an embarrassing question!

Song Linlin’s face flushed, a faint blush creeping up her ears. She didn’t dare look directly at Chi Qianning, and mumbled, “If you’re not sleepy, then forget it. I’ll sleep by myself.”

“Then sleep,” Chi Qianning said, walking towards the inner part of the room.

Song Linlin followed behind her, watching the other woman’s silver hair cascade down to her waist. She wore a plain long dress, a sash accentuating her slender waist, making it seem like one could easily embrace her with a single hand.

She really is a beautiful snake woman, aside from looking a bit cold, her face and figure were flawless. Song Linlin remembered the softness of Chi Qianning’s body from when they embraced during dual cultivation last night.

Her heart restless, Song Linlin climbed onto the bed and lay obediently on the outer edge, not daring to get too close to Chi Qianning. The other woman seemed to prefer staying tucked away at the very edge of the bed, leaving a large space between them. Even if another person were to lie there, it wouldn’t feel crowded.

Originally, after a fight and the walk back from the outskirts of the city to the inn, Song Linlin was exhausted. On the way, she felt that she would fall asleep the moment she touched the bed.

But now, actually lying on it, her mind began to wander. Forcing her eyes closed did nothing to induce sleep.

She couldn’t help but open her eyes again, turning her head slightly, wanting to peek at what Chi Qianning was doing. However, the other woman was completely covered by the blanket, her face hidden.

Even though she couldn’t see Chi Qianning’s face, Song Linlin felt a strange awkwardness emanating from her. Like back at the Luofeng Temple, she was perfectly fine, even kindly teaching her a sword technique, yet now she was ice-cold.

Song Linlin carefully replayed the events of the day in her mind and suddenly realized she might have overlooked a detail. Downstairs, when Zhiyu had unexpectedly hugged her, along with Ye Tingran, hadn’t Chi Qianning, who had been quiet and clinging to her the entire journey, suddenly stirred?

The movement was so slight that Song Linlin wasn’t sure if she remembered correctly. Perhaps Chi Qianning hadn’t done anything at all.

Was Chi Qianning being awkward because of this?

Song Linlin couldn’t guess, but that didn’t stop her from acting on her impulse. She scooted closer to Chi Qianning. Since they had already practiced dual cultivation together, Song Linlin figured Chi Qianning wouldn’t slap her to death for getting closer.

So, nothing was stopping her from taking a look.

Song Linlin quickly crawled to a position very close to Chi Qianning and lifted the blanket covering her head, revealing the beautiful face beneath.

Chi Qianning probably hadn’t expected Song Linlin to suddenly approach. Her eyes open, she met Song Linlin’s gaze, unsure of what she was planning.

“Can I hug you?” Song Linlin asked.

These words tumbled out of her mouth almost the moment she saw Chi Qianning’s eyes. She was just asking, and whether Chi Qianning agreed or not, she wouldn’t lose anything.

Chi Qianning was silent for two seconds, then turned her head away. “No.”

    “Oh…”

Song Linlin didn’t push it, only feeling a little disappointed. She was about to crawl back when she heard Chi Qianning’s voice again.

    “Go change your clothes.”

    “Huh?”

Song Linlin looked at her own clothes. She had fought Xing Jiu earlier, and although there was no blood on her, she had been outside and now lay on the bed without even bothering to remove her outer garments.

Does she think my clothes are dirty?

This put Song Linlin in a difficult position. “I only have this set left…”

She originally had another set, but she had been too lazy to wash it, tossing it randomly on the floor and then ignoring it. Later, it disappeared, probably taken by the servants who cleaned the room, assuming she didn’t want it.

Song Linlin hadn’t paid much attention to it. It was just a set of clothes, and she didn’t mind its absence. With Chi Qianning using the Cleansing Technique on her every day, she didn’t need to worry about her clothes getting dirty.

“Um… how about you give me a set?” Song Linlin asked tentatively.

She felt that Chi Qianning had a lot of clothes, as she hadn’t seen her wear the same outfit twice in the past few days.

Chi Qianning didn’t refuse. Seemingly out of thin air, she produced a dress and stuffed it into Song Linlin’s hands. “Go change.”

    “Okay!”

Song Linlin immediately got up, put on her shoes, and walked towards the folding screen, holding the dress. It was tempting to smell it, but like Chi Qianning’s clothes, it had no discernible scent.

    This disappointed Song Linlin.

Quickly changing into the dress, this time Song Linlin didn’t toss her discarded clothes on the floor. She folded them neatly and hung them on a wooden rack before emerging from behind the screen.

Climbing back onto the bed, Chi Qianning looked at her with much more approval. Wearing her clothes, Song Linlin no longer carried the scent of other people.

    “Hug.”

As soon as she returned to the bed, Song Linlin snuggled up to Chi Qianning and embraced her, wrapping her arms around Chi Qianning’s soft body and nuzzling her neck.

Caught off guard by the sudden embrace, Chi Qianning didn’t push her away. This emboldened Song Linlin. Her breath warmed Chi Qianning’s pale, slender neck. The position was very similar to last night’s dual cultivation.

Remembering how she had tried to bite Chi Qianning last night without success, Song Linlin felt an itch again, especially since their current position was so convenient for taking a nibble.

So, possessed by a sudden impulse, she lowered her head and gently bit down. Afraid of angering Chi Qianning, she didn’t bite hard. This time, she successfully latched on.

Chi Qianning felt the unusual sensation on her neck and let out a soft gasp. The light bite, accompanied by the soft touch of Song Linlin’s tongue against her skin, felt more like a tickle than a bite. Such a bite couldn’t cause any real harm; it was like being scratched by a kitten.

Song Linlin didn’t dare bite for too long, releasing her hold after only a few seconds, leaving a faint mark on Chi Qianning’s skin.

Chi Qianning’s skin was exceptionally fair, making the mark, slightly red and tinged with glistening moisture, stand out.

Seeing this, Song Linlin felt a bit embarrassed, realizing she had been momentarily overcome by Chi Qianning’s beauty and had actually bitten her.

Lifting her head, Song Linlin was about to say something when Chi Qianning leaned in and, not to be outdone, bit Song Linlin’s neck.

    “Hiss…”

Song Linlin felt the sting of teeth breaking skin. Compared to the previous two times Chi Qianning had bitten her, this time she was much more prepared.

The pain wasn’t intense. This time, Chi Qianning was much gentler than before. Without a strong desire to absorb Song Linlin’s magical power, she only lightly pierced the skin.

The lingering, dull ache, the itchy sensation of something soft licking the wound, and the slight drain of magical power—all these sensations mingled, transforming into pleasure.
