    Chapter Index

Making the scumbag completely give up hope is a matter of utmost urgency.

The sudden premonition of a fluttering heart made Qiu Baiyu unable to disregard it.

Who is the person Yi Wanyue likes?

Is it the child from the family that visited Yi’s home this morning?

    Love at first sight?

What does that person look like, what’s their personality like, and what’s their family background?

    Is it really a manโ€ฆ

Will Yi Wanyue still like men, not womenโ€ฆ

She wanted to know the answers but didn’t know how to ask.

Directly asking the system wouldn’t work either.

Suddenly asking this out of nowhere, Bai Zhi might become curious, and if Bai Zhi knows, Yi Wanyue would probably find out too. She wasn’t ready to expose herself in front of her yet.

Qiu Baiyu felt somewhat dejected, standing silently in place for quite a while.

She now felt like a thief with a guilty conscience.

Because of her feelings, every step she took in front of her beloved required careful consideration, each step filled with worry that the other might suspect her.

Alas, the beautiful life suddenly wasn’t so beautiful anymore.

Qiu Zimin held a starch sausage in her right hand and carried packed snacks in her left, walking and eating at the same time.

Yi Wanyue also held a crispy grilled starch sausage in her hand.

The two walked towards Qiu Baiyu together.

Yi Wanyue approached Qiu Baiyu, but there was no reaction. She then realized that Qiu Baiyu was lost in thought, with a preoccupied expression, pondering over something unknown.

Just as she was about to call out her name, Qiu Zimin beat her to it from the side.

    “Auntie!”

Qiu Zimin rushed into Qiu Baiyu’s arms, hugging her waist while carefully avoiding her injured left hand: “We’ve finished shopping~”

She lifted the takeout snacks, shaking them gently: “I bought you bozigao1, two of them~ Auntie Wanyue said you can eat these.”

Qiu Baiyu came back to her senses, hearing the words “Auntie Wanyue,” she unconsciously looked towards Yi Wanyue.

The other was also looking at her at that moment.

A gentle gaze shone through, with a hint of concern hidden within.

    โ€”Concern for her.

“You seem preoccupied,” Yi Wanyue asked, “What were you thinking about just now?”

    Qiu Baiyu opened her mouth.

No sound came out, and she closed it again, then gave up with a resigned look.

    “Nothing.”

Seeing Qiu Baiyu’s hesitation to speak, Yi Wanyue restrained her curiosity and said, “If there’s anything troubling you that you can’t figure out, you can always come to me to talk about it.

    “You’re welcome anytime.”

Everyone has secrets, their own personal space.

If Qiu Baiyu didn’t want to tell her now, perhaps she would want to tell her later, to let her help share the burden and offer comfort?

She wanted her to remember: she would always be there.

Yi Wanyue’s words touched Qiu Baiyu’s heart deeply.

She was always so gentle, it was only natural that she was falling deeper and deeperโ€ฆ

    “Let’s go home,”

    Qiu Baiyu said.

Having an injured hand is a troublesome thing.

The only thing Qiu Baiyu was grateful for now was that it wasn’t her dominant right hand that was injured.

Therefore, she could still eat and drink normally, and barely manage to bathe, but washing her hair was quite difficult.

She stood in the bathroom, lost in thought.

If it were winter now, she could endure for another day.

But summer was different; hair gets oily faster in summer, requiring washing every other day.

Two minutes later, she turned and walked out.

    “Wanyue!”

Sometimes, one shouldn’t be so stubborn as a person.

Qiu Baiyu sat on a small stool, a towel draped over her shoulders, her head covered in white bubbles.

Yi Wanyue’s hands moved through her hair, her fingertips methodically massaging the scalp, creating soft sounds as they mixed with the foam.

Besides this, there was also a little one playing with her hair, creating styles.

Qiu Zimin used her hands full of bubbles to shape various patterns on her auntie’s head, showing them to the other auntie after each creation.

Qiu Baiyu heard occasional soft laughter from behind.

It was clear that these two were having a lot of fun playing with her hair.

But she had to admit that Yi Wanyue’s hair-washing technique was quite comfortable, so comfortable that she didn’t want to move, letting them play as they wished.

    “Alright, playtime’s over,”

She heard the person behind her say.

“Auntie needs to rinse the bubbles out of Auntie Baiyu’s hair now. Go wash your hands and play by yourself for a while.”

“Then it’ll be my turn to help dry auntie’s hair,” Qiu Zimin’s voice rang out.

“Alright,” Yi Wanyue’s voice carried a smile.

Yi Wanyue used the shower head to rinse Qiu Zimin’s hands clean.

From the corner of her eye, Qiu Baiyu saw the little one leave the bathroom.

“Come, Baiyu, lean against the bathtub and bend over a little.”

Qiu Baiyu obediently did as told.

The water flowed over her head, washing away the white foam.

The water temperature was comfortably warm, just right.

Yi Wanyue’s gentleness was also just right.

After rinsing out the foam, Yi Wanyue turned off the shower head and grabbed a towel to help dry Qiu Baiyu’s hair.

The towel enveloped Qiu Baiyu’s hair, drying it with just the right pressure.

They faced each other, eye to eye.

The damp hair was tousled from the drying, making the quiet and obedient Qiu Baiyu look like a scruffy little dog.

As this thought crossed Yi Wanyue’s mind, she suddenly smiled.

It was a beautiful smile, right in front of Qiu Baiyu’s eyes, blooming like a flower.

It was also like an unreasonable arrow, piercing Qiu Baiyu’s heart, continuously making her sink deeper into this sea of love, unable to extricate herself.

    “What are you smiling at?”

“Smiling at how cute you are.”

    “?”

    “Like a scruffy little puppy.”

Qiu Baiyu smiled along with her.

Inexplicably, she didn’t know what she was smiling about.

After smiling, looking at the person before her again, somehow, she suddenly found a bit of courage.

“Wanyue,” she opened her lips to ask, “How was the person who visited your home today?”

Yi Wanyue responded without changing her expression: “Same as always, nothing special.”

    “Did you reject them?”

    “Mm.”

Qiu Baiyu’s tense heart instantly relaxed.

Good, it’s good that it wasn’t that person, good that it wasn’t love at first sightโ€ฆ

“Alright, go out quickly and dry your hair, don’t catch a cold later.”

    “Mm.”

Qiu Baiyu obediently walked out of the bathroom, truly resembling a well-behaved little dog now.

She walked towards the living room, then suddenly stopped in her tracks.

    Something wasn’t right.

If Yi Wanyue didn’t like the person who visited the Yi family today, then who could it be?

She still didn’t know who the person Yi Wanyue liked was!

Yi Wanyue, watching Qiu Baiyu’s docile back, couldn’t help but smile, then silently continued to observe her.

Wanting to confess but afraid of failure.

For now, perhaps this was good enoughโ€ฆ

Yi Wanyue had been pondering lately how to swiftly and decisively resolve the issue of Jiang Shen and the series of male supporting characters.

Qiu Zimin’s blackening progress had already been reset to zero.

Qiu Baiyu’s villainous system had also been eliminated.

Now it was just her left.

    Her white moonlight mission.

She needed to make these people give up completely.

As she was thinking silently, her phone beside her suddenly chimed with a message notification.

She picked it up and glanced at it.

    โ€” Jiang Shen.

The man who had been incredibly busy lately finally had time to contact her.

He wanted to meet her, have a meal together, or even just a cup of coffee would do.

Yi Wanyue didn’t reply, just glanced at it before putting her phone down.

    She didn’t want to.

Before figuring out a once-and-for-all solution, she didn’t want to meet any man. Each additional meeting would only add to these people’s unrealistic fantasies.

Before putting down her phone, she glanced at the time; it was time to change Qiu Baiyu’s bandage.

She got up to find Qiu Baiyu, but as she looked up, she saw that Qiu Baiyu had already conscientiously brought the medicine and bandages to the living room to find her.

Seeing Qiu Baiyu, her smile finally returned.

    “Sit over here.”

She sat back down, patting the spot beside her.

Qiu Baiyu came and sat next to her, handing her the medicine, and obediently extending her hand. She casually asked, “Who messaged you? You look like you don’t want to reply.”

Yi Wanyue lowered her gaze, cradling Qiu Baiyu’s hand, and methodically unwrapped the bandage.

    “Jiang Shen.”

Qiu Baiyu raised an eyebrow, feeling a bit dazed.

It seemed she hadn’t heard that name for a month or two.

    “Is he bothering you again?”

Yi Wanyue opened the medicine bottle, her tone calm: “He invited me out for a meal. I’m not interested, so I didn’t reply.

“I’ll meet him when I think of a way to make him give up completely.”

She lifted her gaze to look at Qiu Baiyu, a smile on her lips: “I think I should speed up the progress of my task as well.”

“If there’s anything you need me for, just say the word.”

    Qiu Baiyu offered without hesitation.

Yi Wanyue’s hand paused as she was applying the medicine.

Qiu Baiyu’s words suddenly reminded her of something, and then, in a flash of inspiration, she truly thought of a plan.

A plan that would require Qiu Baiyu’s cooperation.

She looked up, gazing intently at Qiu Baiyu: “You’ll help with anything?”

    Qiu Baiyu nodded firmly: “Mm.”

As long as she could help Yi Wanyue, as long as she could help Yi Wanyue get rid of those annoying flies and be happy every day, she would do anything.

With her word, Yi Wanyue smiled, her eyes curving: “Then I’ll be counting on you.”

She added: “I’ve already thought of a plan. We’ll go see him after your hand has healed.”

Compared to Jiang Shen, Qiu Baiyu was naturally more important.

Qiu Baiyu, confused, asked: “Do you want me to physically hit someone?”

Yi Wanyue shook her head with a smile: “That’s not necessary.”

Qiu Baiyu asked: “Then why do we need to wait until my hand is healed before we go?”

Yi Wanyue looked into her eyes.

Qiu Baiyu said seriously: “Making the scumbag completely give up hope is a matter of utmost urgenc..”

Resolving Yi Wanyue’s unwanted romantic entanglements was now the top priority.

She had injured her hand, not her leg, so she could go out anytime.

“It’s good for an injured person to go out for walks too,” Qiu Baiyu said.

Seeing her say this, Yi Wanyue had no objections and nodded in agreement: “Then shall we go see him tomorrow?

“If we go out in the evening, we’ll have to ask aunt to come and keep Xiaomin company.”

Qiu Baiyu nodded and agreed: “Whatever you arrange is fine.”

Yi Wanyue smiled gently, lowering her gaze to continue changing the bandage.

Qiu Baiyu quietly watched the person her heart yearned for.

Her eyelashes were long, both lengthy and dense, when they fluttered lightly, it was like butterflies flapping their wings.

Her movements were gentle, like the wind kissing her palm.

Qiu Baiyu couldn’t help but open her lips: “Wanyue, thank you for your hard work these past few days.”

Her wound had healed a lot, thanks to Yi Wanyue’s attentive care over the past few days.

Applying medicine, changing bandages, managing diet and daily life, Yi Wanyue was meticulous in her care, more attentive than anyone else, taking such good care of her that she had even gained a bit of weight.

After hearing her words, Yi Wanyue smiled softly: “It’s no trouble at all.”

She gently blew on Qiu Baiyu’s palm, holding the back of her hand, and said very earnestly: “I just hope nothing like this will ever happen again.

“Baiyu, your safety and health are more important than anything else.”

These sincere words suddenly pierced Qiu Baiyu’s heart.

She suddenly realized that the person before her always gave her the most tenderness, occupying the most special place in her heart.

At this moment, a thought slowly emerged in her mind, one she felt was very narcissistic yet couldn’t suppressโ€”

Could it beโ€ฆ is it possible that the person she likesโ€ฆ is me?

      Realize it already!!!!!

And now it’s clear Wanyue is gonna propose she be her fake girlfriend.

The author is definitely milking this wayyyyy too much.

This is a fun series but it’s definitely being dragged and it’s not as interesting as the authors others series, go read She is The Protagonist or Outrageous instead haha.
