System for Reforming Scumbag A… You Are the Original Host!

(LP: … The chapter title is a spoiler!)

【Sorry, sorry! It’s my first day at work, so I’m late.】

    Fu Chaoyun: ?

【Host detected, ding— Scumbag A Reformation System binding in progress…】

What the ghost? (a colloquial expression meaning “what the hell/what’s going on”)

    【Not a ghost, I’m a system~!】

【The properly licensed kind, you know~!】

    “…”

Fu Chaoyun had read novels before her transmigration and roughly knew what a system was. She rubbed her throbbing temples, “Tell me one thing at a time.”

    【Okay~!】

The system bound to Fu Chaoyun had a somewhat bouncy personality, but its work attitude was fairly positive. Through a series of introductions, Fu Chaoyun understood—

The reason she had received the plot and the original host’s memories earlier was because the system had been working behind the scenes.

The two were originally meant to be a package deal, but the system had encountered some accidents and arrived late.

The system’s full name was “Scumbag A Reformation System”, which, as the name suggests, was meant to make Fu Chaoyun turn over a new leaf.

After understanding all this, Fu Chaoyun asked, “What if I refuse? Will I be eliminated?”

【…We’re not some infinite flow system (a genre involving endless tasks/challenges). The punishment… is of course much more severe than that!】

“What is it?” Fu Chaoyun’s heart couldn’t help but tighten.

    【Failing the mission means bankruptcy!】

    “…”

【The whole family goes bankrupt kind, even if your family works hard afterward, there’s no chance of making a comeback. You’ll be poor for life. Scared?】

    “…”

Fu Chaoyun: “That is indeed quite terrifying.”

【Mm-hmm~】 The system was quite pleased with itself.

Fu Chaoyun’s eyes lowered, the night pressing down, her alluring eyes inadvertently revealed a hint of danger.

“I’m not the original host anyway. I originally had nothing, so at worst I’ll return to square one. What does the family’s bankruptcy have to do with me?”

Fu Chaoyun indeed had double standards, but that was only for beautiful people.

The current system didn’t even have a physical form, so it clearly wasn’t in that category.

Suddenly transmigrating to this world, inheriting a scumbag’s body, inexplicably having to start doing missions, and despite trying to avoid everything, things still proceeded according to the original plot…

Anyone would be in a bad mood under these circumstances, right?

Fu Chaoyun’s tone carried traces of displeasure.

    【…】

The system was also stunned by her words, and after a brief pause, said, 【Eh? Didn’t I tell you?】

    “?”

    【You ARE the original host!】

Fu Chaoyun: “Heh heh.” (expressing disbelief)

    A system’s words are ghost’s lies.

    【No, no, it’s true!】

Seeing Fu Chaoyun’s disbelief, the system became anxious.

【You are the original host. You share the same name, but when the souls were being placed, there was a mix-up. We only discovered this when checking the database later, and were preparing to switch your cores back.】

【The previous scumbag alpha found this out in advance, which is why she completely dropped her act later, severely damaging this body. Since she was going to leave anyway, she decided to enjoy herself thoroughly and leave behind a mess she wouldn’t have to deal with.】

【The Fu family didn’t suspect anything when they saw you earlier, right? That’s because—you’re their biological child!】

    Fu Chaoyun’s movements paused slightly.

Actually, given her personality, even without any relationship, she wouldn’t have let the Fu family go bankrupt just because of her own circumstances.

Her previous words were just out of anger. Now with the system’s explanation, which was logical and matched all the details, she was seventy percent convinced.

Fu Chaoyun asked: “Then why does the Fu family still need to go bankrupt?”

【The original scumbag alpha was able to torment the female lead because of the family’s background! Although the Fu family members weren’t bad people and tried their best to restrain the scumbag alpha, it was useless.】

【From a results-based perspective, they were all accomplices, so requiring compensation is reasonable.】

    Fu Chaoyun: “…” Numbed.

【Dearie, what do you think about it?】

Fu Chaoyun: “Let it all burn.” Whatever happens, happens.

    【…】

But since things had come to this point, Fu Chaoyun had no choice but to agree. She added fiercely, “No matter where that scumbag alpha escapes to, we must catch her and deal with her severely!”

【Yes, yes, yes, we’ll handle these matters internally.】

Only then did Fu Chaoyun let out a slight breath of relief.

The bright Porsche sports car continued driving down the road.

Originally, Fu Chaoyun felt somewhat guilty about interacting with the Fu family, but now knowing she was the original product, suddenly there was nothing to fear.

    Blood ties were truly mysterious.

However, her original plan was to cut off contact with Pei Xuezhi after tonight, but now it seemed she had to continue dealing with the situation.

    【It’s okay.】 The system consoled, 【You like her anyway.】

    Like?

Fu Chaoyun’s mind conjured up Pei Xuezhi’s image—fair skin, red lips, ink-black hair, even that red birthmark on her collarbone…

    Indeed, she liked her.

But how much could one like someone after their first meeting? It was just attraction at first sight. Fu Chaoyun was most satisfied with her face, and well… her temperament and figure too.

But thinking of her later dark transformation and ruthlessness, Fu Chaoyun said coolly, “No matter how much I like her, my kidneys are more important.”

【You benefit from the casual intimacy anyway.】

Fu Chaoyun expressionlessly: “I seriously doubt I can survive.”

Just one intimate moment? Just one?

Sorry, but that would be a fatal price!

    【Umm… probably not, I’ll help you.】

Fu Chaoyun took a deep breath and said sincerely, “Thank you, Scumbag.”

    【…What?】

“Scumbag A Reformation System, abbreviated as ‘Scumbag,’ any problem?”

The system briefly stuttered, 【No problem, Scumbag at your service.】

    “…”

There was clearly no end to trading barbs with the system. Fu Chaoyun thought about tonight’s incident again.

“I had already cancelled this plot line, why did it still happen after three days?”

The system became serious, 【Strictly speaking, this current timeline is a reversed world.】

    “Hm?”

【Those plot lines I showed you before were things that had already happened.】

【All of this was caused by a misplaced person from a different timeline who shouldn’t have been here. To set things right, we turned back time and brought you back.】

【Because of the time reversal and everything returning to its original position, when it misaligned with the original timeline, some deviations and omissions were inevitable, but they’re minor issues that don’t affect the big picture.】

【Besides, you have me to assist you…】

Fu Chaoyun automatically ignored the last sentence, but after hearing the system’s explanation, she felt more at ease.

    Rong City University.

    Omega Female Dormitory.

It was nearly eleven at night, lights-out time. Several omega students had already finished washing up, changed into their pajamas, and were lying in their own beds.

    The night talk began.

“Yaoyao, you’re so clever to come up with this plan to get her over there. They’ll probably give you tens of thousands as payment, right?”

“Remember to treat us when you get it!”

“No problem,” Ying Yao agreed without hesitation.

“But I really don’t understand… Miss Fu is so rich, and she’s always being pursued so aggressively, with roses and gifts being thrown around like they’re nothing, yet she’s still not interested?”

“Playing hard to get~ She’s just waiting for the highest bidder, being picky to marry the best one in the end.”

“I think she’s just playing cat and mouse. With that drug in her system by now, who knows what’s happening in that bed… hehe…”

“Tomorrow I’ll post on the forum, saying she didn’t return all night, suggesting she was…”

    BANG!

The giggles in the room were interrupted by a sudden door kick, and the atmosphere instantly froze. Everyone looked toward the doorway together.

The person they had just been discussing was standing at the door.

“Pei… Pei Xuezhi… how did you… come back?” Upon seeing her, they were surprised, confused, and somewhat guilty.

Pei Xuezhi didn’t speak. She stood there in her thin shirt, her hair slightly disheveled by the night wind, but her clothes were still the same ones she wore when she left, completely intact.

She didn’t look disheveled; rather, she appeared somewhat casual, except for her crystal-clear eyes that swept across the room.

    “It was you.”

Her gaze fell on Ying Yao in the lower bunk. Under the incandescent light, her eyes grew increasingly dark and cold, like a beast locking onto its prey.

Obviously, she had heard their entire conversation from outside.

Ying Yao, feeling unnerved under her stare, instinctively tried to defend herself, “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

Pei Xuezhi remained silent, walking to Ying Yao’s bed. As she turned her head, the lights-out time arrived, plunging everything into darkness.

The atmosphere inexplicably became eerily creepy.

    “AAAAAAH—!”

    A scream pierced the silence.

Ying Yao felt like her scalp was being torn off as Pei Xuezhi grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground. Terror, fear, panic…

At this moment, Ying Yao couldn’t even focus on the pain in her scalp. In her mind was only that single glance Pei Xuezhi gave her before the lights went out.

    It seemed casual and yet…

Sharp as a blade, and bone-chillingly cold.

Like an evil spirit that had crawled up from hell.

I thought having the system would ruin it but fuck, if the souls were switched then the system should exist! I am with ChaoChao in apprehending that bastard because if it were me, I want that bastard punished with 2 miserable reincarnations for ruining my body and my life when I lived virtuously and frugally! Lemme beat em up!
