    System Crash: Why the hell…

Early in the morning, Fu Chaoyun was shaken awake by the System.

    【BIG! NEWS! EMERGENCY!!!】

It wasn’t even six o’clock yet, not time to take Pei Xuezhi to and from school. Fu Chaoyun was still drowsy, barely awake, with sleepiness evident in her voice.

    “…Hmm?”

    【Go check online yourself!】

    【Stop sleeping!】

    【It’s serious! Extremely urgent!!!】

Ever since discovering that Fu Chaoyun couldn’t be controlled, or rather couldn’t completely follow its will, the System had helplessly fallen into its habit of playing dead.

It hadn’t appeared for several days, and this was the first time it had notified Fu Chaoyun so urgently.

Fu Chaoyun got up and went online. Her movements suddenly froze, and her previously sleepy eyes became serious.

After fermenting overnight, that exposé revealing her dark history had reached unprecedented levels of popularity!

During this period, 《Love at First Sight》 had become incredibly popular, to the point where other industry peers were envious.

As a guest, Fu Chaoyun had various halos [meaning: positive public attention] around her. Even though she was illiterate, she still had quite a few fans, though most people were more interested in following the development of her relationship with Pei Xuezhi.

Now with the buffs stacking up, the topic exploded, instantly climbing to the top of the trending searches.

    【This is shocking!】

【Wow, I can’t believe Fu Chaoyun is this kind of person.】

【Could this be a mistake? Maybe it’s just rumors, after all, the show is really popular…】

【The evidence is all laid out, point by point with solid proof. How can fans still defend this? Has shipping made you lose your mind?】

【《Love at First Sight》 is really something else. How can an all-amateur dating show cultivate such a fanbase? Are these people planning to debut as celebrities once the show ends?】

【Heh, everyone’s been recommending how good this show is, but I couldn’t stand watching it. I said it before – it’s all scripted, with predetermined characters and plotlines… Everything’s written in the script, yet these idiots got fooled and are still happily shipping away. Can’t wait to see them get slapped in the face with reality.】

【No wonder Pei Xuezhi ignored her before.】

【Didn’t a student from Rong University expose that Fu Chaoyun previously had a girlfriend also from Rong University? One day while dropping off her girlfriend at school, she saw Pei Xuezhi and fell in love at first sight… well, more like lusted at first sight, immediately dumped her girlfriend to pursue Pei Xuezhi, without even trying to hide it.】

    【Damn, that’s so scummy!】

【We’ve been imagining their first meeting for so long, and it turns out it happened like this… So disappointing!】

【Pei Xuezhi was right to not interact with Fu Chaoyun before, but weren’t they getting along well when she first arrived? What’s going on now?】

【I have to say, this scummy alpha has so many tricks: playing victim, baking egg tarts, acting cute, picking up and dropping off, even doing that hand-holding run at school. With strong family background as support, she’s too good at winning people over. No wonder so many omegas were fooled.】

【I don’t care about the person, but as a shipper, my feelings are complicated now…】

【What’s there left to ship? Run away quick! The house is collapsing [internet slang for when a celebrity’s reputation is destroyed], and it’s going to crush everyone underneath!!】

Fu Chaoyun casually looked at the online comments, which were mostly criticism. After all, the exposé had thoroughly proven everything she had done, and her reputation had plummeted.

The karma from the scummy alpha’s misdeeds had finally caught up.

The System secretly observed its host’s expression and, unexpectedly, found her demeanor rather calm. The next second, Fu Chaoyun summoned it out.

“Handle this,” Fu Chaoyun said directly.

    【…】

    The System started playing dead.

“Wrong soul invested for over twenty years, and now that it’s finally switched back, you’re not expecting the victim like me to clean up this mess, are you?”

    【………】

After waiting for a while, the System didn’t dare make a sound.

“Useless,” Fu Chaoyun mocked directly. “You know to wake me up when public opinion explodes in the morning, but you don’t know to delete the messages and eliminate the source when they first appear? What’s the point of having a system like you?”

After blood spraying from a dog’s head [meaning: severely criticized], the System finally couldn’t hold back, 【Due to permission restrictions, we cannot directly delete content from the real world…】

“So you can only oppress me, your bound host, is that it?”

    【…】

Fu Chaoyun’s lips curved in mockery, “Useless.”

This playing-dead useless System couldn’t be counted on anymore. Although all those scummy deeds were done by the original scummy alpha, this body was now being used by Fu Chaoyun, and the online criticism had spread from Fu Chaoyun herself to the show’s production team, her family, and even Pei Xuezhi…

She had to find a way to resolve this crisis.

Around 6:40, Fu Chaoyun officially got up and moved the clothes hanging over the room’s camera.

Immediately, a group of eating melon netizens flooded into the livestream room.

    【Checking in.】

【Beep—coming to watch the scummy alpha.】

【With things so big online, the show’s team will probably issue an apology and persuade the scummy alpha to quit, right?】

【Hard to say. Let me tell you a horror story – 《Love at First Sight》 is produced by Xingdong Entertainment, go check who their largest shareholder is…】

【Damn! Really controlling everything? Like being the prince’s study companion? [meaning: having powerful connections]】

【They even brought Pei Xuezhi in, deliberately creating this environment, forcing people to ship them… The more excited we were shipping before, the more disgusted I am now.】

【No way to escape, is this the power of XX?】

【Poor Pei Xuezhi, I feel so sorry for her.】

【Harsh words: Fu Chaoyun, get out of 《Love at First Sight》!!!】

Fu Chaoyun had gone to wash up, unable to see these hostile danmu in the livestream. When she went downstairs, the other guests were all there, looking at her with complicated expressions.

Obviously, they had all heard about the online controversy.

After spending time together these days, they felt Fu Chaoyun wasn’t the type of person described online, but they hadn’t known each other for very long!

As they say, you may know someone’s face but not their heart. What if Fu Chaoyun was just pretending? What if the show’s staff had really written a script for her?

At this moment, nobody dared to vouch for Fu Chaoyun or guarantee her character, knowing the first bird to stick its head out gets shot [meaning: the outspoken one becomes the target].

Fu Chaoyun, however, remained very calm.

    “Brother Yi,” she called out.

Jian Yi paused before responding, “What?”

“Please take Zhizhi to school today,” Fu Chaoyun said calmly, as if nothing had happened.

    “No problem.”

The camera focused on Fu Chaoyun, with dense danmu filled with 【Disgusting】, 【Scum】, 【This scummy alpha is such a good actor】…

But when switching to Pei Xuezhi’s side, they immediately changed to 【Poor thing】, 【Such bad luck to catch the eye of such scum】, 【Pei Xuezhi is so pitiful】, 【Run, Pei Xuezhi!!!】…

Clearly at this moment, the audience and netizens’ sympathy for Pei Xuezhi had reached its peak.

Like other guests, Pei Xuezhi’s gaze fell on Fu Chaoyun, cool and aloof, yet seemingly carrying a hint of profound depth.

On the surface, it appeared no different from others, but upon closer inspection, there seemed to be something distinct.

    “Fu Chaoyun,” Pei Xuezhi called.

Fu Chaoyun, the person in question, lifted her head and looked over slowly, but remained silent, more so than ever before.

Comments: 【Here it comes, the confrontation is about to start!】

Pei Xuezhi looked at her, gaze clear and voice equally flat, “You take me there.”

She paused, “It’s not on Brother Yi’s way.”

It is nice to see Fu Chaoyun calling out the trash system and in return getting help from her future wife.
