    Kiss

    Sharing the same bed.

When Shiyi entered the room, Wei Hui was sitting on the sofa taking medicine. She had drunk before in the past, but the consequences were severe, which led to her habit of complete abstinence. Usually, no one would offer her drinks, and if it weren’t for Luo Zhouping stirring things up today, she wouldn’t have taken that drink.

He wasn’t giving face to Du Yueming, but to the entire Du family. Du Yueming should understand this well.

Wei Hui tilted her head back to take the medicine when she heard a clear voice beside her ask, “Third Miss, are you alright?”

The gaze cast her way held concern, soft and gentle, like fine silk wrapping around her chest, gradually spreading, beginning to entwine when she wasn’t paying attention. Wei Hui put down her water glass and smiled lightly, “I’m fine.”

“You should wash up and rest early, you’ve had a long day.”

Shiyi studied her expression intently, noticing the slight flush on her cheeks, unlike the unnatural redness of her usual fevers – it must be from the alcohol. Slightly relieved, she nodded, “Alright, I’ll go to the bathroom first.”

She hugged her clothes and entered the bathroom, only becoming troubled after closing the door. The hotel’s design was too… bold, she finally decided after much thought. Except for appliances and decorations, everything was basically transparent, especially the bathroom – the door was glass, though frosted in the middle, but clear on top and bottom. Standing inside to undress would be completely visible from the living room.

Shiyi was somewhat shy. She stood holding her clothes for a few seconds before pressing against the door, trying to hide behind it while undressing. Although she knew Wei Hui wouldn’t peek, the embarrassment still spread from head to toe. After finally managing to undress and hang her clothes on the nearby rack, she lost her balance and stumbled against the rack, causing a loud clang. Wei Hui immediately looked over.

Worried that Shiyi might be affected by the drinks from earlier, Wei Hui turned her head at the noise and called out: “Shiyi?”

“Mm, mm.” Two unnatural responses came back. Wei Hui stood up and took in the scene in the bathroom – the young woman’s nearly nude form came into view, her black hair cascading down her back like ink, her fair skin partially visible through the glass. She was rather thin with a small frame, standing there turning her head with a hint of panic in her eyes, looking quite pitiful and delicate.

Wei Hui remembered that look in her eyes – when she first brought her into the Wei family, she had looked at her the same way. What were her feelings back then? She had forgotten, but now an unfamiliar feeling rose in her heart, unrelated to desire, only compassion and resignation.

She knocked on the door: “Shiyi.”

Shiyi looked around anxiously, quickly grabbing a white towel from the nearby rack to cover her chest, then opened the door with a flushed face and lowered head. Seeing Wei Hui step in without a word, she exclaimed: “Third Miss!”

Wei Hui walked behind the door and pointed to a box: “Press this.”

Shiyi tilted her head to look at her, then at the green button inside the box. Obediently pressing it, she heard a humming sound and looked up to see a light blue fabric slowly descending from the ceiling, covering the door and glass. The entire bathroom changed color and became opaque.

So that’s how it worked – she felt foolish.

    Shiyi’s face grew even redder.

Wei Hui watched her press the button, turned on the light, and said softly: “Go ahead and shower.”

Shiyi bit her lip, barely managing a weak “thank you, Third Miss” before hearing the door close. She looked up to find Wei Hui had already left the bathroom. She stood there holding the towel, completely unclothed.

After leaving the bathroom, Wei Hui opened her laptop. The abandoned building project had confirmed its start date for next Friday, chosen as an auspicious day [traditionally favorable day for starting new ventures]. Besides various media, board members and several CEOs from partner companies would attend. Wei Hui hadn’t specifically notified Shen Hao, but he had contacted her first, saying he would definitely arrive early and asking if she needed any help. She smirked at this obvious attempt to β€œsee the wind and set the helm” [meaning: to be flexible and take advantage of the situation] – the Shen family never tired of such tactics.

However, since the Shen family was still the major stakeholder, face had to be given. Wei Hui personally called Shen Hao to set a time.

When Shiyi came out of the bathroom wearing long-sleeved pajamas, she saw Wei Hui sitting on the sofa making a phone call. When discussing business, Wei Hui’s expression was cold, her voice quiet but commanding, speaking like she was issuing orders that allowed no opposition or resistance. Shiyi thought that no one would dare to resist anyway.

Even though the person before her was a patient, and a seriously ill one at that, Shiyi felt that Wei Hui was incredibly strong – strong enough that nothing could break her.

    Not even her illness.

Third Miss will get better, she thought to herself.

Shiyi walked to Wei Hui’s side and said softly, “Third Miss, I’m done bathing. You can go in now.”

Wei Hui had just hung up the phone. She lifted her eyes to look at Shiyi and nodded, “Go rest in bed after you’re done.”

Shiyi stood by the tea table: “Do you still need to work? Is there anything I can help with?”

“No,” Wei Hui lowered her head, “I still need to review some documents. You go rest first.”

Unable to persuade her otherwise, Shiyi could only agree: “Alright.”

She turned and climbed into bed, which was placed against the window in the innermost position. The crystal chandelier in the living room was on, but Wei Hui intentionally turned off the main light after Shiyi got into bed, switching on a soft ambient light instead. Shiyi was indeed very tired, but the slight rustling sound of Wei Hui flipping through documents nearby affected her – not in a way that prevented sleep, but in a way that made her want to secretly watch.

Shiyi turned over, glancing at Wei Hui from the corner of her eye. She saw her looking down at the documents, long hair hiding half her face, the warm light making her whole person appear softer.

Her bangs hung low, hiding her sharp eyes, her nose was elegant, the sensation of touching her cheek still lingered, her lips were crimson (Third Miss always liked to wear bright colors), her skin was jade-white and delicate, her collarbones half-hidden, partially visible. Shiyi’s face inexplicably reddened as she watched, her heart beating unusually fast. She hurriedly withdrew her gaze and pretended to sleep.

Before she could fall asleep, her phone vibrated. She picked it up and saw a message from Du Yueming: “Shiyi, have you used it yet?”

Shiyi suddenly remembered the skincare products Du Yueming had given her earlier and scratched her head, replying: “Not yet.”

Du Yueming immediately typed back: “Stop dawdling, go use it now!”

Having no choice, Shiyi got up from bed and slipped into the bathroom. Though unsure where to apply it, she remembered that the skincare products Wei Hui had given her were for the body, so she squeezed out a little and applied it to her arms and legs before putting the bottle away and returning to bed.

Wei Hui watched her moving about, noticing a faint fragrance, but thought nothing of it and continued reviewing documents until the alarm rang after nine o’clock. Only then did she close the files and go to the bathroom to wash up.

When she came out, Shiyi was already asleep. Wei Hui initially planned to take a blanket and sleep on the sofa, but it was winter with bitter cold at night. Not wanting to risk catching a cold or fever, she considered for a few seconds before choosing to rest in the bed.

It was warm under the covers, with heat occasionally radiating from Shiyi’s side. Wei Hui was extremely sensitive to cold, winter being her hardest season. Even with sufficient heating, her hands and feet would be cold before sleeping and after waking. So when an unexpected little heater appeared beside her, she couldn’t resist the warmth and moved closer to Shiyi.

She regretted it immediately because Shiyi sensed someone nearby and quickly hugged her arm, nuzzling her neck with her head. The soft feeling and sweet fragrance made Wei Hui look down to see Shiyi sleeping peacefully with a slight smile on her lips.

She must be having a sweet dream.

Wei Hui suddenly allowed this boldness, letting Shiyi continue holding her.

The room was quiet, with two steady breathing patterns creating a peaceful atmosphere. Soon, one breathing pattern became rapid.

Hot, very hot, extremely hot – Shiyi felt like there was a fire hidden in her body, making her throw off the covers. Wei Hui felt the cool air and opened her eyes to see the blanket pushed down to their waists. She sighed, pulling it back up over them both. In the darkness, Shiyi uncomfortably pushed it away again, accidentally hitting Wei Hui, who sat up, paused for a few seconds, and turned on the bedside lamp. Looking over, she saw Shiyi’s messy hair covering half her face, three buttons of her cotton pajamas undone. Lying on her side, the position revealed a hint of her cleavage.

Looking closely, she wasn’t as frail as she appeared.

Wei Hui looked away and pulled the blanket back up to Shiyi’s shoulders. Before she could turn off the light, Shiyi pushed it away again. After the third time, Wei Hui’s expression changed slightly, and she called out: “Shiyi.”

The sleeping person didn’t respond, only making muffled sounds. Wei Hui pushed her: “Shiyi.”

As soon as her hand touched Shiyi’s shoulder, it was caught in Shiyi’s grip. Then Shiyi pulled her forcefully, and Wei Hui couldn’t dodge in time, falling against Shiyi’s body. A fragrance assaulted her senses, penetrating like a nerve stimulus – she sniffed, realizing it wasn’t any scent she’d encountered before. This position was quite improper, and she called softly: “Shiyi.”

Shiyi turned over, grabbing Wei Hui’s hands and wrapping them around her waist instead. Wei Hui thought she was just dreaming and didn’t resist strongly, until Shiyi buried her face in her chest.

    And then llcked it.

The sensation of the tongue tip sliding across her skin was too sensitive, causing her to shudder. Wei Hui instantly tensed up and pushed Shiyi away.

Finding her arms empty, Shiyi opened her eyes with a confused look, her face slightly flushed. Wei Hui assumed it was the delayed effects of the alcohol making her act this way. She said softly: “Sit still here, I’ll get you some water.”

Before she could leave the bed, her wrist was caught. Shiyi sat at the headboard looking up at her like a puppy, her eyes blinking gently, her long eyelashes like cicada wings [describing delicate, transparent beauty], stirring small ripples in Wei Hui’s heart.

Another hand filled the spaces between her fingers. Wei Hui looked down to see Shiyi holding her wrist, their fingers intertwined. Just earlier in the bathroom, seeing Shiyi unclothed hadn’t affected her much – she’d only thought of her as a newly-adult child.

But at this moment, her palms were sweating.

Because she realized she was having different thoughts about this young adult!

Wei Hui was shocked by her own thoughts and turned to leave, but Shiyi wouldn’t let her. She pulled at Wei Hui and, being a healthy adult after all, managed to pull Wei Hui back to sit on the bed’s edge. Shiyi didn’t speak, just stared at her with misty, glistening eyes. As they gazed at each other, just as Wei Hui was about to speak, Shiyi leaned forward with her soft lips, silencing Wei Hui’s words!
