Little Alpaca – Chapter 27
by Little PandaVolume 1: Little Alpaca
Don’t always be staring at other people.
Yi Qiu had once seen someone say online that alpacas are very weak creatures. They have no ability to protect themselves, so when they encounter danger, they can usually only speed up their own death by spitting at the other party.
However, as an alpaca with a temper, already holding a bellyful of anger, she naturally could not let a mere shop assistant bully her.
In the instant her temper flared, she even gave up on gathering her strength, only raising her neck with a displeased expression, putting on her most disdainful face, and spitting at that teahouse shop assistant four consecutive times.
Pu, pupu——pu!
The shop assistant opened his mouth as if he wanted to speak but was holding back. In the end, he didn’t dare to say anything, just stood there dazed in the distance.
This 「spirit pet」 before him, who could understand human speech, was angry. It seemed he had offended something he shouldn’t have.
Seeing him dumbstruck, the teahouse owner quickly slapped his back hard. It seemed like a scolding, but was in fact a way to save the situation: “How are you speaking to an immortal’s1 spirit beast2? Go wash up, don’t stand here embarrassing yourself.”
Hearing this, the shop assistant hurriedly bowed to each of the three people before him, and finally bowed to Yi Qiu as well, before turning and slipping away with sincere fear and trepidation.
The teahouse owner offered an apology to You Yan. You Yan just smiled and waved her hand, saying: “It’s my spirit pet who is too ill-behaved. Her temper is just that bad; when she gets angry, she even spits on me.”
Yi Qiu rolled her eyes and shifted her gaze to the side in annoyance. As luck would have it, she met the scrutinizing gaze of Luo Mingyuan.
One person and one alpaca, big eyes staring at small eyes. In less than half a second, the former retreated two steps with a timid expression, as if recalling some bad memory.
This person was, after all, the male lead. Yi Qiu knew that no matter how much she disliked his actions in the story, there was no need to make an enemy of him.
Compared to Luo Mingyuan, Yi Qiu was naturally more willing to place her gaze on Jiang Yuyao.
At this moment, Jiang Yuyao was discussing the matter of searching for the demon race with You Yan. Yi Qiu tilted her head and observed from the side for a while, unable to help but feel a wave of emotion in her heart.
Jiang Yuyao was truly worthy of being the female lead. In terms of beauty, she was in no way inferior to You Yan, but their temperaments were different.
On the surface, she was aloof and cold. When she wasn’t speaking, she seemed capable of keeping people a thousand li3 away, yet when she spoke, there wasn’t the slightest feeling of self-importance or arrogance.
As the saying goes, warm but not soft, slender but not weak. Just a few short sentences of exchange were enough to make one instantly develop a good impression.
It was just that, this was a female lead from an abuse literature with the “beautiful, strong, and tragic” label. She was good in every way, but unfortunately, she was blind in her eyes and heart, unable to see through the fact that the male lead was a hopelessly irredeemable scum.
Pity that Fusang Divine Tree4 that should have transcended the Three Realms5. To save the Golden Crow6, she willingly threw herself into the mortal world.
But in her mortal life, she used all her gentleness and still failed to protect that one person and help him attain the righteous fruit7, instead her heart was devoured by love and hate, and she completely lost herself.
“Do I really have to set them up together?” Yi Qiu couldn’t help but wonder, “How do I feel that if they really get together, that would be the biggest BE, ah?”
【In that story, they didn’t get together. Why does the Host think it’s a BE?】
Fine, this frustrating8 system could even jump out to talk back.
It seemed there was really no choice. She could only hope to change the plotline at key nodes to reduce the misunderstandings between the male and female leads.
As Yi Qiu thought about it, she couldn’t help but let out an “En——” sound.
At the same time, the four pairs of eyes beside her all looked towards her, instantly making her scalp tingle.
She seemed to have interrupted the conversation between Jiang Yuyao and You Yan, and she had paid no attention to where their topic had progressed.
The moment she became the focus of attention, in order to make her「En」sound seem less inexplicable, the little alpaca, after a brief moment of being dazed, made an extremely impatient expression.
Then, she raised her neck and gathered her strength to「tui」a large mouthful at Luo Mingyuan to her right. The effect was no different from splashing water, instantly covering his head, face, and body with saliva.
At that moment, Yi Qiu saw Luo Mingyuan subconsciously tremble, then open his mouth as if wanting to speak but holding back. A trace of grievance flashed through his bewildered eyes, but in the end, he just sullenly raised his hand to wipe his face, looking quite pitiful.
In the astonished gazes of the teahouse owner and Jiang Yuyao, You Yan quickly squatted down, put her arm around Yi Qiu’s neck, and said with a placating smile: “Luo-dage, I’m so sorry, my spirit pet has no patience…”
Luo Mingyuan: “It’s, it’s alright…”
“Young Immortal Chief10, how about, you wash up at my place?” The teahouse owner pointed towards the backyard.
The youth, accustomed to hardship, subconsciously shook his head, but upon seeing the little alpaca beside him pout her lips, he immediately slipped away in the direction the owner was pointing.
Seeing this, Yi Qiu turned back and bared her teeth at the teahouse owner. The owner quickly retreated half a meter, his gaze wary as he said: “Immortal11, this immortal beast12 of yours… is it angry?”
“Yes, she has a bit of a quick temper. Once she gets angry, she will…”
Before You Yan could finish speaking, Jiang Yuyao also quietly retreated two meters.
A quarter of an hour13 later, You Yan walked out of the teahouse door, with Yi Qiu following closely behind.
Before leaving, You Yan had made a bet with Jiang Yuyao, betting on who would be the first to find the demon person14 causing chaos in Moshui City. The winner would have to be granted one request by the other party.
Jiang Yuyao was also simple-minded. She had clearly just met this person, yet faced with such a bet, she agreed easily without even thinking, not at all afraid that the other party might make some excessive request.
Regardless, since this joke-like bet was made, You Yan had to find a demon in the city.
But this Moshui City was right under the nose of the Xianlu Sect. Why would there be a second demon besides You Yan appearing, and why would You Yan happen to be the first to run into them?
No matter how one thought about it, it felt unrealistic…
It seemed this frustrating author, in order to advance the plot, had really written a lot of content that was completely illogical.
Thinking of this, Yi Qiu couldn’t help but fall into deep thought, trying to come up with a way to solve this problem for the villain, and see if she could earn some favorability points along the way. After all, she was only two hundred points away from becoming human.
As Yi Qiu was thinking, she carelessly bumped into You Yan’s body.
This great villain, really, if you’re going to walk, just walk properly. Why stop so suddenly without a word…
The little alpaca looked up at You Yan, feeling a bit speechless, and asked politely: “Master, why did you suddenly stop walking?”
You Yan turned back and met her gaze for a moment, asking faintly: “Was she good-looking?”
“Huh?” Yi Qiu felt a head full of fog15.
You Yan smiled and said: “In the teahouse just now, you kept staring at that girl with the surname Jiang. Is she really that good-looking?”
Yi Qiu was momentarily choked up. After a long silence, she quickly raised a hoof, holding up two toes, and tried her best to argue: “No, I wasn’t! I, I… I was observing the enemy situation for Master! I could tell at a glance that this woman is definitely not simple, so I wanted to be on guard for Master in advance…”
“Oh?” You Yan bent down, took the little hoof Yi Qiu had raised in her hand, a hint of a smile rising in her eyes. “Then, what did you observe?”
Yi Qiu swallowed nervously and said: “N-not yet, I need to observe a bit more. I will definitely be able to…”
You Yan interrupted: “No need. I know who she is.”
“Huh?” Yi Qiu was in the middle of playing dumb.
“The Divine Tree Fusang, I didn’t expect her to come too. I just don’t know if that fellow will follow along…” As You Yan spoke, she hooked her lips into a cold smile. “Things have suddenly become much more interesting.”
“Huh?” Yi Qiu continued to play her part as a fool.
You Yan suddenly let go of Yi Qiu’s little hoof, her cold fingers gently stroking around her right eye twice.
Yi Qiu subconsciously tensed her body, and at that moment, You Yan withdrew her frightening fingers.
In the next second, one could only hear a sneer escape from You Yan’s nose. She looked down at Yi Qiu and said faintly: “I am your master.”
Yi Qiu nodded repeatedly like a little chick pecking at rice16.
You Yan: “Your gaze should follow me. Don’t always be staring at other people.”
Yi Qiu: “…”
Why does such an unreasonable master exist in this world?
