Fate Trading System – Chapter 285

Divine Vestige 11
Two glasses of wine were placed on a small table next to the bath. As Su Xin soaked in the water, she felt her entire body relax.
Slayer seemed a little uncomfortable getting into the water. She pressed herself against the wall of the bath, her voice somewhat stiff.
βAfraid of water?β
βNot afraid.β
Slayer shook her head. For some reason, she just felt that being in the water was a bit unsafe.
βWe’re heading to the Mermaid Clan. If you’re afraid of water, will that really be okay?β
βI’m just not used to it. I’m fine now.β
Slayer relaxed her body, forcing herself to adapt.
She didn’t know why her body had this instinctive reaction, but she had indeed never been in water before.
Slayer couldn’t remember her past. All she knew was that she had been a thief for as long as she could remember. She didn’t even have a past.
She only knew what she had to do and what she was capable of.
She was stubbornly fixated on accomplishing one thing, as if it were the highest expression of her self-worth. She had to, and would, achieve that goal.
Slayer guessed that she might be some kind of program, her purpose being to make the Creator God, that bug, explode.
Su Xin closed her eyes, quietly enjoying her bath.
Ever since she arrived in this world, she hadn’t had a chance to properly enjoy herself like this. She had always been rushing about on the road, and even bathing was taken care of with water magic.
Slayer dazedly copied Su Xin, closing her eyes and lying back. But after a moment, she couldn’t help but open her eyes again.
She smelled a faint fragrance and followed the scent, moving closer.
Su Xin opened her eyes and lifted a hand out of the water to push Slayer’s head away.
βYou smell so good.β
Slayer moved close to Su Xin’s neck, sniffing continuously.
βWhat smell?β
Slayer lifted her head and asked, seemingly not at all aware that her actions were presumptuous.
βThere’s no smell.β
Su Xin pushed Slayer away. Miss Thief is sometimes like a childβno, more like a small animal, acting on her own whims. She lacks a moral compass and emotional understanding, simply doing as she pleases, unburdened by the baptism and constraints of morality.
βBut I smelled it,β Slayer mumbled.
βWant a drink?β
Su Xin pointed to the two glasses of wine, hoping to shut Slayer up.
She could already guess Slayer’s identity. She was likely some kind of program or software implanted from the outside world, appearing in a humanoid form within the game. Her code could flow and alter the data of NPCs, thereby replacing them. She didn’t know who created Slayer and put her in here, but their skills must be incredibly advanced, definitely better than Lang Ning’s. She wasn’t sure who had found themβperhaps a leader, or perhaps they were a volunteerβbut they were undoubtedly an ally.
βIs it good?β
Slayer had never had alcohol before. Looking at the beautiful color, she picked up both glasses, handing one to Su Xin and keeping one for herself.
βI imagine it’s not bad.β
This should be the best wine they have here. Su Xin swirled the glass.
She used to be able to hold her liquor very well, but she didn’t enjoy drinking.
Alcohol resistance was a necessity. Su Xin’s previous body could be said to be able to drink a thousand cups without getting drunk, but having drunk so much, she had come to dislike it.
Alcohol makes people lose their reason, and Su Xin preferred to stay clear-headed. She had no great sorrows to drown, so she didn’t need to drink her worries away. Drinking wine was worse than drinking juice.
She didn’t know what it was brewed from, but the taste was indeed quite good.
Slayer took a sip, found it sweet, and took another.
After the two finished their wine and their bath, Su Xin was the first to stand up from the pool and walk over to put on a bathrobe.
βI really did smell that fragrance.β
Slayer also stood up from the water and walked over to Su Xin’s side.
βSo?β
βIs it coming from you?β
βPerhaps?β
Su Xin finished putting on her bathrobe, then got one for Slayer.
Slayer took the bathrobe but didn’t move, her expression turning somewhat dazed.
Her fingers touched Su Xin, her palm sliding over Su Xin’s arm.
γHost, make her let go of you. It is invading your database. Power is attractive to her; she is searching for where the divine spark is.γ
Okay.
Su Xin slapped Slayer’s hand away. Slayer’s expression was still vacant.
Su Xin didn’t want to fight her, but they had an agreement before, a four-to-three split, and it wasn’t good to just go back on their word.
So the fragrance Slayer mentioned wasn’t her body scent, but the scent of power.
But she’d never acted up like this before, so why was she glitching out now?
Master Fourteen, what’s going on?
γHost, this one is investigating. Please wait a moment.γ
The situation seemed a bit critical.
Slayer’s movements were fast. She looked as if she had completely lost consciousness, moving toward Su Xin, wanting to touch her.
Of course, Su Xin couldn’t let her touch her, but how could the speed and agility of this body possibly compare to Slayer, a thief?
Slayer didn’t want to harm Su Xin, nor did she want to fight her. She just wanted to touch her. But the act of touching her was equivalent to seeking out and devouring her power.
Slayer seemed to grow impatient. She picked Su Xin up, threw her onto the bed, and then pressed down on top of her.
γHost, her data code is being implanted with something else. It seems to be a more powerful command, with added specificity and enhanced aggression.γ
F#ck, what happened to being allies? What kind of trouble are the people on the outside stirring up!
Su Xin kicked Slayer away. Her own clothes had been torn off, and Slayer hadn’t had time to put any on yet. The scene must have been an absolute eyesore.
γHost, it’s alright now. Let her touch you.γ
Su Xin retracted her foot, her expression prim and proper.
Slayer reached out to touch her again, her face still bearing some of the marks Su Xin had left.
γCountering now.γ
Trying to invade? Not so easy.
Several people were gathered around a computer, staring nervously at the screen.
βSlayer has been enhanced. We should have a better chance now,β A.K said confidently. Although they couldn’t see what was happening inside, they could increase Slayer’s power.
βAre you sure?β The leader’s expression was grave.
βOf course.β
This was a room filled with monitors. Four people were typing away at keyboards; they were the nation’s top technicians and hackers.
βSlayer will bring us victory.β
A.K glanced at the person lying on the experimental table. This was the culmination of everyone’s hard work. Dealing with a single bug shouldn’t be a problem, right?
βA.K, come quick! Slayer’s data is showing abnormal fluctuations!β
βWhat’s going on?β
Symbols scrolled frantically across the screen, and everyone immediately dove into their work.
βThere’s something else in there, rejecting Slayer’s intrusion!β
βThe bug?β
βNo, the code is different. It’s something elseβ¦ Oh my god!β
The person shouted. All the monitors went black, with a line of code pulsing on them.
βAllies, stop messing around.β
A.K interpreted the meaning. The group looked at each other in dismay.
βWhat does that mean?β
βThe data wasn’t corrupted. Slayer’s status is stable.β
βLeave it for now. Don’t perform another enhancement.β
βAlright.β
γHost, it’s handled.γ
Master Fourteen, I’m cheering for you.
γIt is my duty.γ
Slayer stopped her actions. Her face became vacant again, but after a moment, her senses returned.
βXuanxuan? Iβ¦β
Slayer shook her head and got off Su Xin.
βIt’s fine. You just lost control for a bit.β
Su Xin straightened her hair and went to get her clothes.
Some parts of Su Xin’s body were aching. A mindless Slayer was truly terrifying.
Of course, Slayer wasn’t much better off, her body also covered in marks from the beating.
Su Xin cast a healing spell, curing the marks on both her and Slayer’s bodies, then lay down on the bed.
βI’m sorry.β
βIt’s fine.β
It was a good thing Slayer hadn’t taken out her weapons, or she might have lost even more control.
Slayer, in low spirits, curled up in the corner of the bed. Her hair was sticking up all over the place, making her look both pitiful and a little funny.
βI don’t know what happened to meβ¦β Slayer muttered to herself, looking very confused.
βI already said it’s fine. Put your clothes on.β
Su Xin tossed the clothes over and pulled the covers over herself, preparing to sleep.
βWhat do I need to do to express my apology?β
βPut on your clothes and go to sleep.β
βOkay~β
Slayer put on her clothes, slipped into the bed, and pressed up against Su Xin.
βIt really does smell good.β
βAre you talking about the power?β
βNo, you.β
Slayer pressed against Su Xin’s back, sniffing and sniffing, then extended the tip of her tongue and gave a little lick.
βTastes like honey.β
βYou don’t just need to go to a healer to get your brain checked, you need to get your tongue checked too.β
What honey taste? She hadn’t even used any bath gel.
βBut it’s very sweet. I’ll try again.β
With a spirit of inquiry, Slayer licked, bit by bit.
Su Xin’s body trembled. Unable to bear it any longer, she turned around.
βIf youβ¦β
Slayer was still lost in her own thoughts and subconsciously continued to lick.
βHeyβ¦ this part is soft.β
Su Xin narrowed her eyes and pinched Slayer’s chin.
βAre you doing this on purpose?β
Slayer looked at her with a confused and innocent expression, her delicate face looking pitiful.
Slayer gazed into Su Xin’s eyes and broke into a smile.
Damn it. Su Xin had almost forgotten what Slayer said when they first met.
Which moron created this program? Couldn’t they have programmed in a little bit of shame!
βDo you know what you’re doing?β
βI like it.β
Slayer looked into Su Xin’s eyes.
βThis part is very soft and comfortable.β
Slayer pointed to Su Xin’s lips.
βThis part is very sweet.β
Slayer pointed to Su Xin’s body.
βDo you want me?β
Su Xin gave a smile that was not quite a smile.
