After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 97
by Little PandaAre You Going to Love Someone Else?
Can’t turn back into a human!
Lin Sifei crawled out from inside her clothes and saw Luo Ke casually pick up the dress and set it aside. Her cat eyes instantly widened.
“Meow—!”
Luo Ke jumped in surprise. Seeing her paws trembling, she lifted the dress. “What’s wrong with this dress?”
Li Jing, who had experience with security for celebrities, spoke up. “These are all sponsored. They have to be returned after being worn.”
Luo Ke helplessly folded the dress for her, placed it to the side, and then found the jewelry that had fallen onto the car floor. A small clip was still caught in the fur on Lin Sifei’s head.
“This time, I have to wait out the full duration to change back.”
Lin Sifei nodded and leaped into Luo Ke’s arms to lie down.
She wasn’t too concerned about it. The time requirement was quite short now anyway. She’d be just about done after a nap.
Filming had been so busy these past few days that she was exhausted and drowsy. She really needed a good rest.
As Li Jing drove, she glanced at the rearview mirror and said coolly, “Someone’s tailing us. Probably paparazzi.”1
Lin Sifei immediately raised her head. You’ve got to be kidding me. In her current state, she absolutely could not be photographed!
Luo Ke, however, was very calm. She reached out and stroked Lin Sifei’s head, and with a few quick pets, she soon had her rolling over to expose her belly again.
It was so comfortable, this feline instinct.
“Shake them off, at least for a while. That way, even if I get out with a cat later, they’ll just assume that during the time they lost us, Xiao Xiao switched cars and left.”
“Understood.” Li Jing slammed her foot on the gas pedal.
It was already very late, and there weren’t many cars on the street.
Li Jing drove erratically, basically rushing through any green light she saw.
The paparazzi behind them also sped up, zipping across the road.
“You’re speeding,” Luo Ke reminded her calmly.
Li Jing fell silent. What do you do when your boss is being a bit unreasonable? To shake off the paparazzi, she obviously had to speed up. The other car was speeding up too, so speeding was the inevitable outcome.
“Remember to pay the fine.”
Li Jing silently swallowed the blood rising in her throat. “Understood.”
Luo Ke fastened her seatbelt, then took out an inflatable cushion and placed Lin Sifei inside it. She looked completely prepared for an accident.
Li Jing grew even more frustrated; she was a very good driver.
The traffic light ahead began its final countdown. She suddenly accelerated and drifted through the intersection.
The paparazzi car behind them completely ignored the red light, still in hot pursuit.
Luo Ke frowned slightly. If this continued, one of them was bound to get into an accident.
“Slow down.”
Li Jing gradually reduced her speed, returning to a normal driving pace.
Luo Ke took out a water bottle, took a sip, and poured some out for Lin Sifei.
Seeing her perfectly calm and composed2 demeanor, Li Jing asked, “President Luo, what do we do now?”
“Let’s go to the Traffic Police Detachment and turn ourselves in.”
Li Jing looked at her silently, then at the paparazzi car behind them, and nodded.
Only Lin Sifei, who had become dizzy after being shaken around, looked at Luo Ke in a daze. “Meow?”
Why?
Luo Ke looked at her big eyes and confused expression and couldn’t help but smile. “The paparazzi can certainly come in if they want, but they can’t just film whatever they please in there.”
“Besides, when Li Jing turns herself in, she can also take the opportunity to report another group of people who aren’t following traffic laws.”
Lin Sifei nodded with a partial understanding.3 Seeing this, Luo Ke knew she still didn’t get it and rubbed her ears.
She picked up her phone. “Zhao Min, have a company driver come over in a bit. I’ll send you the location. Count it as overtime for the driver.”
She hung up and looked at Li Jing. “What are you standing there for? Make a U-turn.”
“Understood.” Li Jing took a deep breath, silently praying she could keep her driver’s license.
Their U-turn clearly startled the paparazzi. The other car slammed on its brakes. After watching them actually drive off in that direction, it slowly started to follow again after a moment.
Maintaining a normal speed, Li Jing drove into the Traffic Police Detachment to turn herself in.
After parking, Luo Ke and Lin Sifei stayed in the car while Li Jing went in to talk to someone.
It was very late, well outside of the working hours for processing violations, but Li Jing was very insistent on turning herself in.
The officer was extremely dedicated to serving the people. Thinking her emotional state was abnormal, he even poured her a cup of hot water.
Holding the cup, Li Jing finally spoke. “My boss and I were getting off work today, and a car has been chasing us the whole time. We couldn’t shake them no matter how fast we went. My boss and I discussed it and decided to come here to hide.”
Such a socially harmful act! Someone immediately wanted to go out and take a look.
As soon as they went outside, they saw a car hiding not far away. Based on the license plate Li Jing provided, it was indeed the car that had been tailing them.
“The dead of night is no excuse for street racing, especially not for chasing another car. Come on, let’s have a chat.”
The paparazzi immediately flashed a press pass, indicating that they were legitimate.
The officer took one look at it and couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Why is there a typo on your press pass? Alright, now we have forging documents to add to the list. I’ll contact the Police Station to come over.”
The group of paparazzi was led inside, each one as meek as a quail, staying put obediently.
The moment she saw them, Li Jing immediately stood up and moved to the side.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. We’ll keep them for some re-education. You can go home first. As for the traffic violation, you can wait until Monday to take care of it. It’s in the building next door.”
“Okay, thank you.” Li Jing smiled and walked out.
The paparazzi watched her leave and saw another car pull up beside hers. Soon, the two cars drove off in different directions.
“Still looking, still looking! What do you think you’re doing?!”
Startled by the scolding, the paparazzi immediately retracted their gazes, sat up straight, and didn’t dare to look again.
Luo Ke thought for a moment and decided to get into the driver’s car with the cat.
She sat in the car and looked at Li Jing. “Drive your car to the Film City. Be careful and avoid people.”
“Understood.”
Luo Ke closed the car door and had the driver take them back to the villa.
Lin Sifei pressed her paws against the window, watching the paparazzi receive their re-education in the main hall. Her mouth split into a wide, happy grin.
She had been chased by paparazzi since her past life, nearly getting into accidents several times. She’d been fed up with these people for a long time. This was so satisfying.
The car started moving slowly. Luo Ke squeezed her paw and pulled her into her lap.
“Looks like we’ll need to arrange for more people in the future.” Luo Ke scratched her belly.
Lin Sifei wiggled her body, feeling a bit ticklish.
Luo Ke chuckled as she petted her, but her fingers brushed against something hard and bumpy.
“Do cats get pimples?” she asked, lowering her head for a closer look.
The light from the streetlamps outside shone in, making the car’s interior flicker between light and dark, so she couldn’t see clearly.
Hearing her words, Lin Sifei also thought she had a pimple and lowered her head to look.
Luo Ke picked her up and held her closer to the window.
Now she could see it clearly. Those weren’t pimples. They were bumps arranged in rows on both sides of the cat’s belly.
These seemed to be a cat’s…
Lin Sifei’s face flushed red, and she slapped a paw across Luo Ke’s face.
Luo Ke gave a dry cough and quickly placed her on her lap, stroking her fur to soothe her.
Face burning, Lin Sifei felt a fiery sensation where Luo Ke had just prodded. She shot her paws out and kicked at her furiously, kicking so hard she spun herself in a circle.
Luo Ke held her up and squeezed her paws. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Only then did Lin Sifei huff and perch on her shoulder, refusing to come down.
Luo Ke didn’t say anything, just leaned back against the seat.
She rubbed her fingertips together, as if the sensation from before was still there. She couldn’t help but think of Lin Sifei in her human form. She was so much softer then than as a cat, pliant to her every touch.
Her lips moved slightly. Staring at her own fingertips in a daze, she slowly raised her hand, her fingertips gently touching her lips.
Watching this, Lin Sifei suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. She smacked Luo Ke abruptly. “Meow?”
The slap brought Luo Ke back to her senses. Only then did she realize she had been kissing her own fingertips.
She sighed and turned to bury her face in Lin Sifei’s soft cat fur.
Lin Sifei had been too busy recently. Worried about her health, she hadn’t done anything.
Luo Ke narrowed her eyes. Perhaps she had been a little too considerate.
Lin Sifei looked down and met Luo Ke’s sweeping gaze. A biological instinct made all the fur on her body stand on end.
But her trust in Luo Ke kept her from flinching away. So, the driver witnessed a cat so scared its fur was puffed out, yet it was obediently letting President Luo nuzzle it.
The driver thought: Has President Luo’s death stare become that effective? Even a cat freezes up and can’t move when it sees it.
Back home, Luo Ke picked up the paper bag with the clothes and jewelry, using her other hand to steady the cat perched on her shoulder as she opened the door.
“President Luo, you’re back so late?”
Luo Ke turned to see Yuan Mo’s face. He was holding that ragdoll cat with negative combat power.
“President Yuan, when did you get back?”
“I just got off the plane today. I’m taking Shuaishuai out for a walk while there’s no one around at night.” Yuan Mo bent down and held Shuaishuai in his arms.
Shuaishuai recognized the person and the cat before him—his benefactors! Now he woke up every day on a huge bed, ate the best cat food, and no longer had to worry about going bald. It was all thanks to his benefactors!
“Meow~” he called out softly.
Luo Ke took a wary step back, shielding the cat on her shoulder.
Shuaishuai tilted his head in confusion and leaned forward from Yuan Mo’s arms.
Luo Ke raised her hand and blocked his view with the paper bag. “President Yuan, it’s very late. If there’s nothing else, you should get some rest.”
Yuan Mo, who had been traveling to relax, finally realized that Luo Ke probably still had to deal with company matters every day. He waved his hand. “Right, right.”
Luo Ke turned, pushed the door open, and closed it behind her.
As soon as they were inside, Lin Sifei leaped off her shoulder, her nose twitching.
They hadn’t been back for a while, and their scent in the house had faded considerably. Luo Ke turned on the lights and looked at the familiar furniture, feeling as if a lifetime had passed.4
“I’m going to take a bath. Do you want one?”
Lin Sifei nodded. It was unbearable not to bathe.
She took the lead, running upstairs and waiting for her on the landing.
Luo Ke smiled, followed her into the bathroom, and turned on the light.
She turned on the faucet, and the bathtub quickly began to fill.
She took a basin, filled it halfway with water, and let it float in the tub.
She picked up the cat and placed her in the basin. Lin Sifei gripped the edge, meowing nervously.
Do we really have to bathe like this?
“It’ll be fine,” Luo Ke said with a smile as she stepped into the tub.
The water’s surface immediately rippled. The plastic basin bobbed and swayed, scaring Lin Sifei so much that she reached out a paw, trying to grab Luo Ke.
Luo Ke bent down and held her paw. “Don’t be afraid.”
The moment she touched Luo Ke, Lin Sifei suddenly calmed down and watched her sit.
The clear water rose past her thighs, past her waist, and higher… all the way to her collarbones.
Through the water, Luo Ke looked like a mermaid. Under the shimmering light, it seemed as if she would swim away in the next second.
Lin Sifei felt a little panicked and reached out to grab her again.
Luo Ke was completely submerged. When Lin Sifei tried to grab her, she ended up climbing downward, and the basin instantly became unstable and started to tip over.
Luo Ke quickly reached out to grab the basin, but Lin Sifei seemed to have lost her mind and slid right into the water.
In a panic, Luo Ke abandoned the basin to scoop up the cat.
In her haste, she forgot that Lin Sifei knew how to swim.
The moment she hit the water, Lin Sifei immediately swam over, propped her front paws on Luo Ke’s shoulders, and shook her head vigorously to get the water out of her ears.
Luo Ke got a face full of water. She helplessly wiped it away and tapped Lin Sifei’s little head.
“Why were you climbing down? You scared me.”
Lin Sifei whimpered. She didn’t know what had come over her. She was just a little scared, but it was a different kind of fear from worrying about the basin tipping over.
She let out a weak “meow.”
How could Luo Ke ever bring herself to truly scold her? Hearing the cat’s soft voice, she immediately scooped her up and started comforting her.
“Did falling in the water scare you?”
Lin Sifei shook her head, indicating she was fine.
Luo Ke kissed her on the forehead and reached for the body wash.
Lin Sifei looked at her smooth neck, opened her mouth, and gently bit down.
She was a cat; catching fish was her specialty.
Luo Ke felt the sharp teeth on her neck but wasn’t worried. She just smiled, squeezed body wash onto her hand, and began lathering up Lin Sifei.
In the end, Lin Sifei couldn’t bring herself to bite down hard. She tilted her head back and let Luo Ke wash her.
After the bath, it was truly very late.
Since Lin Sifei was a cat, Luo Ke couldn’t do much of anything. She could only blow-dry her and hold her to sleep.
The next morning, the alarm clock went off with dutiful precision.
Luo Ke opened her eyes and nudged the cat beside her.
Lin Sifei slowly opened her eyes, still a bit groggy.
Luo Ke checked the time. “It’s been over eight hours.”
Lin Sifei nodded and tilted her head up at her.
Luo Ke smiled and leaned down to kiss her on the lips.
She propped her head on her hand, waiting to see the languid beauty of the morning.
But the familiar sound never came. The cat before her was still a cat.
“Meow?” Lin Sifei was also a little stunned.
Luo Ke’s brow twitched, but she quickly smoothed it over and said with a smile, “Maybe I remembered the time wrong. Let me check again.”
She picked up her phone. The time limit had indeed passed. She then picked up her watch, thinking maybe the hands were off, but the time it displayed was accurate.
When no response came, Lin Sifei started to panic, meowing anxiously.
Luo Ke turned back and picked her up. “Let’s try kissing again.”
Lin Sifei nodded. This time, she kept her eyes open, waiting for Luo Ke to kiss her.
As the kiss landed, Lin Sifei immediately squeezed her eyes shut and chanted in her mind, Change back, change back, change back!
But nothing happened. She was still a cat.
Lin Sifei was dumbfounded. She looked at her own fur, completely at a loss as to what was happening.
Seeing her stunned state, Luo Ke knew something must have gone wrong.
She kissed Lin Sifei’s forehead. “Don’t worry. We can wait a little longer. Maybe it’s changed back to twelve hours.”
Lin Sifei nodded blankly. There was nothing to do now but wait.
She could only hope it was because the duration had reverted to twelve hours. As long as twelve hours passed, she could change back.
Luo Ke got up and picked up her phone. “I’ll call in sick for you first. You won’t be able to go to the film set for now.”
Lin Sifei watched her calmly pick up the phone and issue one instruction after another.
Director Luo naturally had objections, but when Luo Ke told him it was a sudden illness and that she was hospitalized and couldn’t get out of bed, he immediately became worried.
“The doctor said it should be fine.” Luo Ke stroked the cat’s head. “She just needs to recuperate. I can compensate for the production’s losses. Sorry for the trouble.”
Luo Ke then called her own company to say she wouldn’t be coming in today and that urgent matters should be handled via phone calls or email.
After finishing her calls, she looked at Lin Sifei. “Are you hungry? Shall I make breakfast?”
In truth, she didn’t know how, but Auntie Wu had made some buns that just needed to be steamed.
She had specifically learned how to make cat food.
Lin Sifei looked at her faint smile, and her heart settled a little. She raised a paw toward her.
Luo Ke immediately reached out, picked her up, and walked to the kitchen.
As usual, Lin Sifei sat on the countertop, watching her skillfully add meat to the cat food. Knowing Lin Sifei liked meat, she even added extra chicken breast.
By the time the cat food was ready, the buns had long been done.
Luo Ke brought the food to the dining table and smiled as she stroked Lin Sifei’s head. “You can eat now.”
Having become a cat, Lin Sifei had gotten used to the lack of taste. She could now discern a bit of deliciousness from cat food, just like a real cat.
After eating, there was nothing to do.
She had been working overtime on filming recently. To suddenly be idle, and as a cat no less, she didn’t quite know what to do.
Luo Ke held her on the sofa and took out a tablet. “Want to play a game?”
Lin Sifei sat there and played games with Luo Ke.
But as she played, she couldn’t stop herself from checking the time, seeing how long was left until the twelve-hour mark.
Only twenty minutes had passed, but to her, it felt like over a dozen hours.
Because she was distracted, she played terribly, her character dying over and over.
Luo Ke glanced at her. “This game is a bit boring.”
Lin Sifei looked up at her and reached out a paw to help her pick a new game.
Luo Ke caught her paw. “Let’s not play. How about you watch a movie with me?”
Lin Sifei glanced at the time. There was still so long to go. She nodded her cat head.
The house had a screening room. Luo Ke carried her there, found a few classic and funny movies, and started the projector.
Lin Sifei sat in Luo Ke’s lap, feeling the person behind her stroking her back. The touch soothed her heart. She watched the movie and couldn’t help but get immersed, laughing out loud.
One movie ended, but the time still hadn’t come.
Luo Ke had already started the next one. “I heard someone recommend this one before. It’s supposed to be very good.”
Lin Sifei nodded, watching the opening credits appear.
When the second movie ended, Lin Sifei snapped back to her senses and immediately pawed at Luo Ke, who was about to change the film.
“Meow, meow, meow!”
Luo Ke looked into her eyes. Her lips moved slightly, but in the end, she just leaned over and kissed her.
Lin Sifei’s heart pounded wildly. She squeezed her eyes shut to stop herself from crying.
She hadn’t turned back into a human. She was still a cat.
Her entire body went limp, and she slumped onto the sofa.
Luo Ke stroked her. “It’s okay. Maybe there’s a problem somewhere. We can go over everything again, try to figure it out.”
Lin Sifei knew she was just trying to comfort her. The most likely possibility was that she would be a cat forever. Becoming human was like a flower in the mirror or the moon in the water5—an illusion that shatters the moment you wake from the dream.
But she still nodded. She didn’t want Luo Ke to worry too much.
Because of Lin Sifei’s failed transformation, Luo Ke quietly made arrangements. Director Luo’s schedule was extended, and she herself would have to be away from the company for a while to stay home with Xiao Xiao.
All day, Lin Sifei’s mood was low.
Luo Ke planned to take her for a walk near the red carpet at night. For now, during the day, they would pass the time by watching movies.
Lin Sifei watched the movie, lying on Luo Ke and eating cat treats.
She tilted her head up to look at Luo Ke’s chin. This was an incredibly beautiful woman. Though cold to others, Luo Ke was very domestic at home. After a day of staying in, she had a certain languid air about her.
A wave of panic washed over Lin Sifei. Such a wonderful person would surely attract many other excellent people. And she was just a cat. Would Luo Ke still love her?
No.
She knew the answer clearly. Luo Ke had said she didn’t have any special fetishes.
Her love with Luo Ke was built entirely on the foundation of her being a person. Now, that foundation had crumbled.
Lin Sifei was terrified. She could never tolerate Luo Ke falling in love with someone else. And Luo Ke’s loyalty wouldn’t allow her to keep an ex-girlfriend-cat at home. Her fate would be abandonment.
Before being abandoned, she might have a huge fight with Luo Ke. She wasn’t a gentle person; she would definitely scratch her until she was bleeding.
Or maybe by then she would have let go. Long-term torment can change a person.
As Lin Sifei’s thoughts spiraled, her eyes couldn’t help but turn red. She didn’t want this. She didn’t want to leave Luo Ke, and she didn’t want to wear away Luo Ke’s feelings.
Luo Ke lowered her head. Lin Sifei quickly blinked, and the tears were absorbed into her fur. In the dim light of the screening room, Luo Ke didn’t notice.
That evening, they went to the red carpet. Lin Sifei ran down the steps again and rushed into the car, but nothing changed.
Lin Sifei hung her head in dejection. On the way home, she meowed a few times, indicating she wanted to walk around the residential complex.
There weren’t many people in the complex. Lin Sifei walked ahead, and Luo Ke followed beside her.
“Meow, meow, meow!” Benefactor!
Hearing the familiar cat cry, Lin Sifei turned her head and saw Shuaishuai peering at her through a fence.
Lin Sifei tilted her head and walked over.
Luo Ke followed her and saw Yuan Mo in the yard, greeting him coolly.
To prevent his cat from running off, Yuan Mo had put up a fence around the yard so Shuaishuai could play outside.
Lin Sifei wasn’t interested in any of that. Luo Ke accepted the invitation and led Lin Sifei into the yard.
Shuaishuai excitedly approached, only to be blocked by Luo Ke.
She hadn’t forgotten that this was a male cat. She looked at Yuan Mo. “Is this cat neutered?”
“He’s neutered.” Yuan Mo waved an electric mosquito swatter around. “The vet recommended it.”
Shuaishuai nodded repeatedly. “Benefactor Cat! It’s really comfortable after being neutered. You don’t have to suffer through heat anymore. You should try it.”
Lin Sifei had no desire to. She moved aside with a look of disdain.
Shuaishuai was still very enthusiastic, happily sharing his dried fish.
Lin Sifei had no appetite and sat listlessly on a chair.
Shuaishuai could also sense her bad mood and acted as a caring confidante. “Benefactor Cat, what’s wrong?”
Lin Sifei looked at the cat face before her, thought for a moment, and decided it was safe to talk to a cat. Confidentiality was high.
“I think I’m going to be abandoned.”
Shuaishuai’s eyes widened instantly. “Did your owner find a partner too?”
To Shuaishuai, finding a partner equaled abandonment. This was the trauma Yan Yafei had left him with.
Although the logic was strange, it hit Lin Sifei right where it hurt.
A lump formed in her throat, and her eyes reddened as she felt like crying again.
Shuaishuai meowed anxiously. “No, no, that won’t happen! We’ll just drive her partner away too.”
“Not every partner abuses cats,” Lin Sifei said, full of sorrow.
Right now, she wished Luo Ke would have terrible taste in the future and find partners who were all trash—greedy for money or with violent tendencies would be best. That way, she could break them up.
She sighed in frustration.
Luo Ke suddenly felt a chill run down her back.
