After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 112

Planning the Proposal
As her body gradually recovered, her attending physician assigned her physical rehabilitation tasks.
Every day, Lin Sifei had to practice walking while holding onto the parallel bars. To be honest, it was very painful, but every time she saw Luo Ke watching her with a worried expression, Lin Sifei would lift her chin and put on an air of ‘light clouds and gentle breeze’.1
“Luo Ke, I want to drink a Coke.”
During her hospital stay, Lin Sifei had completely given up snacks and had only been eating nutritional meals. Even though Luo Ke had the chef prepare them in all sorts of ways, they still weren’t quite to her taste.
Now that she was mostly recovered, having a little treat now and then wouldn’t hurt.
Luo Ke stood up. “Anything else you want to eat?”
“Potato chips, jelly, ice cream, spicy crayfish…”
“Coke and potato chips. Nothing else,” Luo Ke said, using a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from Lin Sifei’s forehead. “I’ll be right back.”
Lin Sifei smiled and nodded, waiting until she had walked out the door.
The moment she was gone, Lin Sifei’s mouth fell open in a silent, pained cry.
The caregiver beside her, already used to this quick change of face, hurried to help her sit down.
Lin Sifei’s legs were trembling slightly. “Sigh, how long is this recovery going to take?”
“It’s hard at the beginning, but it gets faster later on,” the caregiver said, having clearly looked after more than one patient and knowing these things well.
Lin Sifei sighed. There was no way around it; she just had to get through this.
When Luo Ke came back with the Coke and potato chips, Lin Sifei was sprawled out like a salted fish.2
Luo Ke sat down beside her, opened the bag of chips, and fed one to her.
Lin Sifei accepted the offering with a crunch, crunch, feeling like she could go another round.
As she was glugging down the Coke, Luo Ke watched her with a somber gaze. “A little more training. You haven’t finished your quota for today.”
Lin Sifei nearly choked, looking at Luo Ke with a mournful expression. “Are you a devil?”
“Yes,” Luo Ke said, insisting on following the doctor’s orders. She knew that rehabilitation was grueling. Although Lin Sifei didn’t show it, other patients would complain.
Luo Ke helped her to her feet. “One kiss for every round trip.”
Lin Sifei tried to bargain. “Can I get a kiss for just going one way? A round trip is too far.”
“Alright,” Luo Ke chuckled. She supported her as she walked step by step to one end of the parallel bars, then leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.
The caregiver watched, beaming. Young people certainly knew a thing or two about romance.
After a week of rehabilitation, Lin Sifei could walk normally again, albeit a little slowly. The doctor said it was because she hadn’t walked for so long and wasn’t used to it yet.
Luo Ke was finally relieved and drove over to take her home.
As Lin Sifei walked out of the inpatient building, she was met with the sight of a row of black sedans, looking incredibly imposing.
Luo Ke pulled open the door of the middle car. “Get in.”
Lin Sifei sat in the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt, still trying to process the scene. “Is… is all this pomp and circumstance really necessary just for being discharged from the hospital?”
“It’s for safety,” Luo Ke said, slowly starting the car.
The row of black cars acted like a security detail, surrounding them and occasionally changing formation.
Lin Sifei watched the cars that periodically pulled up alongside them and felt a little embarrassed. It had the vibe of someone with eighth-grader syndrome.3
She didn’t point it out, however, choosing instead to indulge Luo Ke. The car accident must have terrified her. If she could, Luo Ke would probably never want her to ride in a car again.
Lin Sifei thought for a moment. “We could take the subway. It’s very safe.”
“You’ve only just recovered. The subway is too crowded.”
Lin Sifei smiled as she looked at Luo Ke’s furrowed brow. “So we can take the subway once I’m fully recovered?”
“It is indeed safe,” Luo Ke said, seriously comparing the safety levels. A moment later, she realized something else. “You’re a celebrity. Won’t you get mobbed if you take the subway?”
“It’s possible,” Lin Sifei mused.
Luo Ke shook her head helplessly. “You can’t book out an entire subway car.”
“You’re really something else,” Lin Sifei burst out laughing. However, they were good youth under the red flag;4 they didn’t go in for that kind of capitalism.”
The car’s intercom suddenly crackled to life with a click.
“President Luo, there are paparazzi tailing us.”
Luo Ke’s expression immediately turned grim. Lin Sifei quickly sat up straight. “Have someone stop them.”
Luo Ke nodded, but added one more instruction. “See which agency they’re from.”
Soon, Lin Sifei saw in the rearview mirror that the last black car in their escort had cut off another vehicle.
“Are you going to retaliate against that news agency?”
“Kill the chicken to warn the monkey,”5 Luo Ke admitted openly.
It was a good idea, and Lin Sifei didn’t object. She would definitely have to face more paparazzi in the future; it was best to nip it in the bud.
But the paparazzi were incredibly fast. Perhaps afraid that someone else would scoop the story, the news of Lin Sifei’s hospital discharge was already on the hot search list.
Sitting in the car, Lin Sifei chewed on the straw of her yogurt drink and casually browsed the web. The comments below were full of fans howling in celebration.
A few marketing accounts6 had also quickly summarized Lin Sifei’s achievements, with a special focus on the success of 《Migration》 and the awards she had won.
Only then did Lin Sifei realize she had won a major award. No one had even told her.
Although Gongbi had already been exposed, Director Luo had still made a special announcement about the script changes and released the outline of the original screenplay. The contrast was stark.
“We’re home.”
A hand suddenly ruffled her hair. Lin Sifei looked up to see that Luo Ke had already unbuckled her seatbelt.
She hadn’t been back in a while, but the house was just as she remembered it, though the grass in the garden had grown taller.
“Does the lawn need mowing?”
Luo Ke glanced at it. “Probably. I haven’t been back recently either.”
While Lin Sifei was in the hospital, she had practically lived there too.
When she opened the door, the house was quite clean. They must have hired a housekeeping service.
The moment she stepped inside, Lin Sifei threw herself onto the sofa. It felt so familiar; this was where a salted fish truly belonged.
“What do you want for lunch?”
“Spicy crayfish!” Lin Sifei’s head shot up, her eyes shining. She had been craving spicy crayfish for a long, long time!
Luo Ke smiled, rolled up her sleeves, and walked toward the kitchen.
Lin Sifei’s eyes widened in surprise. “You’re making it?”
“Who else?” Luo Ke opened the refrigerator and took out the already-prepared crayfish.
Lin Sifei bounced over to stand behind her. Seeing that the crayfish were still alive, her eyes grew even wider. “Did you guess I’d want to eat spicy crayfish today?”
“You’ve been muttering about it for so long, it’d be strange if I didn’t know.”
Luo Ke rinsed the crayfish one more time, then placed a hand on Lin Sifei’s forehead and pushed her out. “I need to flash-fry them. Be careful not to get splattered.”
Pushed away, Lin Sifei looked at her worriedly. “What about you?”
“I won’t get splattered.”
Lin Sifei pouted. “Does the oil have a targeting system?”
Luo Ke pondered for a moment. “Perhaps.”
She smiled, pushed Lin Sifei out, and pulled the sliding door shut.
Even with the door closed, the fragrant aroma of the spicy crayfish still wafted through the cracks.
Lin Sifei swallowed hard and quickly shook her head. She sat on the sofa and opened her laptop.
While Luo Ke was cooking, she should take this opportunity to find a suitable place to propose, and figure out how to decorate it.
The internet was so developed now that a simple search brought up professional proposal planning companies.
Lin Sifei watched a few videos. They were certainly beautiful, but she felt something was missing.
She furrowed her brow in thought. Since she was proposing to Luo Ke, she couldn’t just consider whether she thought it was beautiful; she had to start from Luo Ke’s preferences.
As the president of Luo Corporation, Luo Ke frequently attended all sorts of galas and auctions. These events almost always had professional designers, so she had seen far too many meticulously prepared, beautiful scenes.
On the surface, Luo Ke was very strong and rational, but she was actually an incredibly thoughtful and sentimental person. If she were to choose a proposal method…
Lin Sifei thought for a moment, her eyes lighting up. She began to search for various design videos.
As she searched, she pulled up a spreadsheet to jot down her ideas.
“Lunch is ready.” Luo Ke set down the last dish, took off her oven mitts, and walked over to the sofa. “What are you looking at?”
Lin Sifei caught the scent of cooking on her—the smell of smoke and fire.7 It was a little spicy, and very fragrant.
Her nose twitched, and she couldn’t help but sneeze.
Luo Ke quickly took a step back. “Did the smell get to you?”
“No.” Lin Sifei immediately smiled and shook her head, wrapping her arms around Luo Ke’s neck to keep her from retreating.
Luo Ke wrapped an arm around her waist, deepening the kiss.
After a long moment, she turned her head slightly. “Let’s eat first, before it gets cold. We can kiss more later.”
“It’ll be too spicy after we eat,” Lin Sifei complained with a pout.
Luo Ke couldn’t help but laugh. The crayfish were indeed quite spicy.
She leaned in and kissed Lin Sifei on the lips again.
In the end, they stopped so they could both enjoy the crayfish. If their mouths got swollen or cut, it would be painful to eat.
Lin Sifei put on a pair of disposable gloves, picked up a crayfish, and as soon as she tasted it, her eyes lit up.
“So delicious!”
Luo Ke smiled and helped her peel the shells. She was very fast, easily keeping up with the pace of them both eating.
Lin Sifei blissfully drowned herself in spicy crayfish, eating her fill for lunch.
After lunch, Lin Sifei and Luo Ke went for a walk and ran into Yuan Mo.
He was now carrying his cat everywhere and had adopted a very relaxed lifestyle, like a seventy-year-old grandpa.
After they exchanged greetings and walked past, Luo Ke whispered, “He has to go back to the company soon. His leisurely days are coming to an end.”
Judging by her tone, there was a hint of schadenfreude.
Lin Sifei couldn’t help but laugh. So Luo Ke got annoyed with work too.
If Yuan Mo had to go back to the company, Luo Ke couldn’t escape either.
Because she had spent so much time with Lin Sifei at the hospital, a lot of work had piled up at the company.
To comfort her, Lin Sifei started going to and from work with her again. While Luo Ke was in meetings, Lin Sifei would hang out and play in the office.
Having watched many design videos, Lin Sifei had a rough idea of what she wanted and began to look for helpers.
She roped in a few friends she’d met through filming, as well as Bai Xingrui. She explained her requirements and asked for everyone’s help in finding what she needed.
Many hands make light work. Lin Sifei knew the effect she wanted but not how to achieve it. But through various inquiries and online searches, everyone managed to figure out how to produce the same result, whether their methods were conventional or not.
Lin Sifei thanked them one by one. Then she opened the office door and ran over to Zhao Min’s desk.
“Can you give me Luo Ke’s schedule?”
Zhao Min had no defenses against the boss’s wife. She handed over the schedule and casually asked what she needed it for.
“A proposal.” Lin Sifei’s eyes quickly scanned the schedule, and she gave Zhao Min a wink. “So, want to be a part of it?”
Zhao Min’s lifelong dream was to attend their wedding. She never thought she’d get to be part of the proposal too. She immediately nodded, overjoyed.
Lin Sifei had her lean in and told her the whole plan.
A week later, Luo Ke sat up in bed and looked at the person sleeping soundly beside her. She stroked her head and planted a kiss on Lin Sifei’s cheek.
Lin Sifei frowned and whimpered a couple of times, burrowing deeper into the blankets.
They had overdone it last night, so it was no wonder Lin Sifei was being lazy.
“Rest at home today, okay? I have a meeting, so I’m leaving first.”
Lin Sifei gave a muffled response. Luo Ke smiled, got up, and left.
Zhao Min and the driver were waiting at the door. As soon as they saw her, Zhao Min immediately took out her phone and sent a message to their group chat to give the signal.
Lin Sifei was sleeping soundly when her phone suddenly started ringing. One call after another came in, forcing her to get up.
Lin Sifei struggled to open her eyes and answered, “I’m up, I’m up.”
She got up, washed her face, and ironed her clothes.
The doorbell rang. A group of people stood at the door, holding a pile of cardboard boxes.
Lin Sifei grinned, revealing her small, sharp canines. “I’ll have to trouble you all today!”
She was determined to prepare an unforgettable proposal!
