After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 104
by Little PandaYou Are My Goddess
You must be a sasaeng fan.
Luo Ke reached out, pressed the back of Lin Sifei’s head, and kissed her on the lips.
Lin Sifei’s face flushed slightly as her teeth knocked against Luo Ke’s.
“Hiss—!” Luo Ke covered her mouth and bent over in pain.
Startled, Lin Sifei remembered that Luo Ke had been suffering from excess internal heat lately. She felt a little embarrassed, but her words were still merciless. “You still wanted to kiss me even in this state.”
Luo Ke took a moment to recover before finally lowering her hand. “It’s all because you were seducing me in that apron.”
Lin Sifei looked down at the pink, lace-trimmed apron she was wearing. It was a spare one from home that Auntie Wu had found for her; it had come as a free gift with Auntie Wu’s own plaid one.
“This is clearly a normal apron. What nonsense are you talking about?”
Seeing her bright red ears, Luo Ke finally started to catch on. “This is really an apron?” Not some kind of erotic roleplay?
She didn’t dare say the last part out loud, but Lin Sifei understood her meaning.
She shot Luo Ke a glare. “You should wash out your brain.”
She pouted, and Luo Ke immediately reached out to hug her. “My mistake, my mistake. My mind was in the gutter.”
She smiled and squeezed Lin Sifei’s wrist, her eyes darkening slightly as she felt the protruding joint. This outfit actually looks pretty good on her.
Unaware of Luo Ke’s thoughts, Lin Sifei was being especially considerate, running to the kitchen to bring her a dessert.
“I made it. Quick, try it.”
Luo Ke was a little surprised. “You made this?”
“Auntie Wu gave me a little guidance,” Lin Sifei said, guiltily averting her gaze.
Even knowing that Auntie Wu had supervised the entire process, Luo Ke’s heart felt syrupy sweet. She pulled out a chair, sat down at the table, and took a bite with a spoon.
“Mm! It tastes so good. It’s sweet and sour, and really refreshing.”
A smile immediately bloomed on Lin Sifei’s face. She sat down happily across from her. “There’s another bowl. Take your time. This is good for clearing heat and reducing fire; you should eat more of it.”1
Luo Ke sipped the sweet dessert soup, pursed her lips, and looked up at her.
Lin Sifei was propping her chin on her hands, watching her with a silly smile.
“I’ve been so busy with work lately, I haven’t had much time to spend with you.”
Lin Sifei quickly shook her head. “I’m the one who didn’t want to go to the office with you. I’m perfectly happy at home playing games, watching movies, and browsing the web every day.”
Luo Ke still felt guilty. In the beginning, Lin Sifei had gone to the office with her, but when Luo Ke got busy, she would be stuck in meetings all day with no time to keep her company at all. Lin Sifei probably got bored, so she eventually stopped coming.
She sighed internally, feeling even more remorseful.
I have a beautiful wife at home, and I’m making her guard the empty room alone.2
If Lin Sifei knew what she was thinking, she would probably beat her dog head in.3 Her mind was full of unhealthy thoughts all day; no wonder she was suffering from internal heat.
The real reason she didn’t go to the company with Luo Ke was that she was worried about her.
Luo Ke was too busy and only had a little time during meals. The moment she saw Lin Sifei, the usually aloof “flower on a high peak”4 would turn into a chatterbox. Lin Sifei was a chatterbox herself, and the two of them would have such a great time talking that they would barely eat a few bites before a secretary came to hurry Luo Ke along to the next meeting.
After a few days of this, Lin Sifei noticed she was barely eating anything and naturally felt her heart ache with worry.
After inquiring with Zhao Min, she learned that she was the one delaying Luo Ke’s meals, so she had no choice but to stop going with her.
“What project have you been busy with recently?”
Luo Ke thought for a moment, then found a simple way to explain. “Research and development for mobile phone display screens.”
“Ohh—” Lin Sifei looked at the phone sitting beside her, not understanding why phone screens still needed R&D.
Luo Ke could tell at a glance that she didn’t get it. “To put it simply, just think of it as trying to make the screen have a higher definition.”
Hearing this, Lin Sifei covered her face. “Then I’ll have to be even more careful in the future. If I get a pimple one day, it’ll be seen in minute detail.”
“That would also require corresponding lens development.” Luo Ke thought for a moment, then comforted her, “It will be a long time before it’s implemented.”
Lin Sifei nodded and glanced at Luo Ke’s bowl.
“Want more? There’s another bowl.”
“Aren’t you having any?”
Lin Sifei smiled and shook her head. “I noticed your appetite hasn’t been great lately, so this is to whet it. I’ll make more next time so we can eat together.”
Luo Ke nodded and didn’t refuse. When Lin Sifei brought the other bowl over, she took the spoon and fed her two mouthfuls.
“It’s good, right?”
“Delicious!” Lin Sifei puffed out her small chest proudly.
After the two finished the dessert in a lovey-dovey manner, Luo Ke took a break before eating her meal.
Lin Sifei glanced at the time; it was already getting late.
“You should go take a shower first,” she said, planting a kiss on Luo Ke’s cheek.
Luo Ke stood up and went to the bathroom to shower first.
Lin Sifei played games for a while, then went in after her. The bathroom was filled with hot, dense steam that carried Luo Ke’s unique scent, enveloping her.
She took a deep breath and faced the showerhead. The hot water streamed down her face, turning it red.
Aaaah! I need to wash my brain out too!
Though she said she was washing her brain, her body was very honest.
Lin Sifei put on a bathrobe and struck a pose in front of the mirror. She looked at her collar, pulling it this way and that, then adjusted the tightness of the belt. With a flick of her hair, she lifted a leg and stepped out of the bathroom.
She stood at the bathroom door with her head lowered, fingers twisting the robe’s belt.
“Luo Ke~”
Her face was flushed, her eyes darting around as she waited expectantly for Luo Ke to walk over like she usually did, lift her hair, wrap an arm around her waist, and then… hehehe.
However, after waiting for a while, she heard no reply.
She lifted her head in confusion, only to see Luo Ke already under the covers, eyes closed, fast asleep.
Lin Sifei’s coyness vanished in an instant. With a flick of her hand, she angrily prepared to pounce.
But just as she lifted her leg, she deflated with a sigh and tiptoed over gently instead.
She leaned down, gazing at Luo Ke’s sleeping face, and smiled as she kissed her forehead. “Sweet dreams.”
Turning off the main light, Lin Sifei left only her own bedside lamp on, dimming it to its lowest setting before sitting up to browse her phone.
There was no helping it; she wasn’t sleepy yet.
After failing to find any novels or comics she liked, she logged onto Weibo out of boredom. The first thing she saw was Yan Yafei’s promotions all over the trending topics. It turned out the character posters5 for her new drama had been released.
With a handsome male lead and a beautiful female lead in a historical fantasy drama, countless people were screaming in anticipation in the comments.
Lin Sifei looked at the cast list and couldn’t help but admit that a lot of thought had clearly been put into it.
She casually refreshed the page and saw a new trending topic.
【Feng Xiao: Heh heh】
Lin Sifei’s eyes widened in shock. Hasn’t she been gone for a long time? Why is she back now?! And on the same day Yan Yafei is promoting her drama, no less. This is stirring up trouble.
Her passion for drama instantly transformed into a passion for eating melon.
Lin Sifei clicked into the comment section. Sure enough, people were asking what was going on, and some of Feng Xiao’s fans were excitedly commenting that she was making a comeback.
The two short words she left, however, carried the feeling that a storm was brewing.6
As expected, right after Feng Xiao’s Weibo post went up, marketing accounts7 quickly coordinated, and a large number of posts took aim at Yan Yafei. They dug up an old photo of Feng Xiao and Yan Yafei taken right after they finished filming 《Light》, claiming the two were very close. They insisted Feng Xiao’s “heh heh” must have been directed at Yan Yafei and that there must be a secret between them.
Although Yan Yafei’s fans had been beaten down by Lin Sifei’s Snowflake Fans, they showed no fear when facing other actresses. This was especially true when their opponent was an actress whose career had failed due to scandals.8 They immediately rushed to her defense.
【Feng Xiao has character issues. What’s wrong with Feifei cutting ties with her?】
【Feng Xiao is definitely doing this on purpose. Her career failed because of her wicked intentions, and now she’s bitter seeing her former sister’s career take off.9 Disgusting.】
In front of a computer screen, Feng Xiao’s hands trembled with rage as she read the comments.
Bai Su took a delicate sip from her coffee cup. “Do you understand now? Once you have a scandal, making a comeback is difficult. These things will be brought up again and again. Whenever you have a conflict with someone, you will always be the one in the wrong.”
“But Yan Yafei was the mastermind back then! She was the one who ordered me to do it!”
“So, why were you so stupid?” Bai Su sneered. “Don’t make a move just yet. Organize the evidence you have. We’ll take our time.”
Feng Xiao bit her lower lip and looked up at the elegant woman before her. “Can… can you help me return to the entertainment industry?”
“Impossible. I told you, you’re no longer suited to go back.” She reached out, placed a hand on top of Feng Xiao’s head, and helped tidy her somewhat messy hair.
Feng Xiao’s body stiffened as she caught the scent of her perfume.
Bai Su was over thirty and had just given birth. She radiated a maternal glow that made people involuntarily let down their guard.
Feng Xiao’s eyelashes lowered, her expression turning sorrowful.
Bai Su caressed her face. “Don’t be afraid. Being an actress isn’t the only path in this world. I’ve paid your contract termination fee. You can go out and see the world, confront your jealousy. The world outside is vast; you will find a new path.”
Feng Xiao’s lips moved twice, but she ultimately closed them and nodded lightly.
Bai Su smiled, released her, and slowly walked back to the nearby sofa to sit down.
“Yan Yafei is an extremely arrogant person. The reason she left behind so much evidence is likely because she never considered the possibility of failure. And while you were shelved,10 you were still a Xinghe Culture artist at the end of the day. Her reach couldn’t extend that far.”
At the mention of Xinghe, a trace of resentment flashed in Feng Xiao’s eyes.
Bai Su noticed it and chuckled softly. “Don’t hate Xinghe. If it weren’t for the fact that Xinghe is under Luo Corporation, and that your president and manager still hold some sentiment for old times, Yan Yafei would have eaten you up without leaving a single scrap behind by now.”
Seeing Feng Xiao’s astonished expression, she smiled even more gently. “The waters in this circle are deeper than you think, and Yan Yafei’s connections are stronger than you imagine. You really aren’t suited for this industry.”
Feng Xiao was like an eggplant hit by frost,11 her head hanging low, the last shred of her pride gone.
Bai Su observed the change in her and stood up, satisfied. “If you think of anything else, you can tell me. This is still too risky if we want to take down Yan Yafei.”
She picked up her bag, preparing to leave.
Feng Xiao suddenly called out to stop her. “Senior Bai Su!”
Bai Su turned back, her eyes widening slightly in question. Feng Xiao became hesitant again, but Bai Su wasn’t in a hurry. She simply waited quietly, offering an encouraging smile.
Finally, Feng Xiao relented. “Lin Sifei must have some damaging information on Yan Yafei. Yan Yafei was always making subtle moves against her before. Even when she did make a direct move, she would test the waters and then retreat. She’s wary of something.”
“I see. Thank you.” Bai Su broke into a wide smile, her red lips looking somewhat terrifying in the moonlight. “In exchange, I’d like to give you another sum of money to send you abroad.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” Bai Su slowly closed the door.
In the hallway, her manager was leaning against the wall. Seeing her come out, he smiled and put down his phone.
Bai Su took off her earrings and raised an eyebrow slightly. “You’re as vigilant as ever. You even have to monitor me while I’m having a conversation.”
“Well, the person I’m dealing with is you, after all.” The manager’s phone was still playing the footage filmed by the pinhole camera in the earring.
He turned off the video and put the earrings away. “You could have just given her the money. Why waste your breath?”
“Giving money only makes people listen temporarily. Feng Xiao has always wanted to act again, and my connections won’t be lent to a tainted artist. But if I didn’t agree, she would surely hold a grudge. It’s better to just make her not want to act anymore.”
Bai Su fluffed her recently permed curls. “Didn’t you see it? The look on her face when she became convinced she wasn’t suited for this industry. Give her a way out, and she’ll take it. That’s the face of a loser.”
“You’re as ruthless as ever,” the manager said, adjusting his glasses.
“If I weren’t ruthless, I wouldn’t have made it this far. Not everyone is as lucky as Lin Sifei.” Bai Su turned her head. “Can you help me arrange a meeting with her? I want to ask what kind of dirt she has.”
“We can only do that under the pretext of a collaboration. I’ll go back and see what scripts she’s planning to take on recently and help you get into the cast as well.”
…
Lin Sifei had wanted to eat melon last night, but in the end, it was all just marketing accounts stirring the pot.
She used Luo Ke’s name to ask someone at Xinghe, and they swore on their life that they hadn’t hired a water army12 for Feng Xiao.
That meant someone else wanted to cause trouble for Yan Yafei. She had made so many enemies; she really wasn’t low-key at all.
Although Lin Sifei wasn’t a low-key person either, the scripts Li Tao got for her were all based on her actual achievements. After all, it wasn’t easy for one’s debut film to be so successful, win an award, and receive praise from a famous director.
She thought about it but couldn’t guess who was behind it, so she simply lay down to sleep.
In a daze, she ran through the entire plot of the book in her mind again. Even in her sleep, she was trying to recall who Yan Yafei’s enemies were and who her golden thighs13 were.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in her mind—that man with a very weak presence who had nonetheless wildly boosted Yan Yafei’s Mary Sue14 persona.
Erik Wesley Enwort!
That super long, completely unmemorable name came back to her in its entirety in her dream. And the man now had a face and a voice.
In her dream, Lin Sifei looked at the British man dressed in a medieval-style tailcoat, with flower petals dancing in the air all around him, and couldn’t help but complain.
So flashy, so flashy. How can such an affected and pretentious person exist?
She grumbled and rolled herself up in the blanket, muttering a few words.
But then, she suddenly felt that something was off. Wasn’t this person a little too realistic? He didn’t match the cartoonish style of the background at all.
Realizing this, Lin Sifei felt as if the clouds had suddenly parted, and she saw through Erik’s true identity.
Isn’t this the guy who hitched a ride with us that day?!
Her eyes shot open. Her mind was completely clear, showing no signs that she had just been asleep.
She lay in bed, her eyes wide.
Luo Ke was still sleeping, and the room was still pitch black. It seemed to be very early.
She glanced at Luo Ke, not wanting to disturb her sleep, and changed back into a cat before jumping off the bed.
She trotted over to grab her tablet and searched for information on Erik based on her memory. As soon as she typed his name into the search bar, a huge castle appeared, along with a picture of Erik in a tailcoat.
She had to admit, he looked better dressed up than in the casual clothes he wore at the airport last time.
Lin Sifei stared at the man’s photo, her tail swishing back and forth as she wondered what to do.
The matter Erik revealed was Yan Yafei’s family background. She was of sixteen-country mixed heritage. Her mother had run away from home and, not long after giving birth to Yan Yafei, had passed away along with her husband.
Erik’s grandmother was heartbroken when she heard the news. Although they weren’t close relatives, Yan Yafei’s mother had been raised by the old woman’s side.
When she later learned that a child existed, she immediately sent people to find her. But she passed away before the child could be found, leaving behind a large inheritance for Erik to give to Yan Yafei.
Lin Sifei sighed softly. It was someone else’s inheritance, someone else’s distant older brother. There was no way he would believe her words. Even if there was really something wrong with Yan Yafei, as her brother, he would probably stick by her no matter what.
Maybe I should just let her inherit the money. It would be best if she and her dear brother went abroad. That way, we won’t have to see each other, and we can each live our own lives.
At this thought, she began to look forward to such a life.
After finishing her search, Lin Sifei curled up on the carpet, feeling sleepy again.
She left a message for Luo Ke and jumped onto a chair to fall asleep.
When Luo Ke woke up in the morning, she was startled to find no one beside her. She shot up and saw the cat sleeping on the chair in a completely ungraceful posture, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
She threw back the covers, got out of bed, and saw the tablet that had been left on the floor. She picked it up and saw a message Lin Sifei had typed out, briefly telling her about Erik.
Luo Ke no longer remembered who that was.
She scrolled down and saw that Lin Sifei had added a pouting emoji with a downward-pointing arrow.
Below it was a picture of Erik from the internet.
【It’s the foreigner we met who hitched a ride when we went to see Bai Xingrui’s show venue.】
Luo Ke finally dredged up some memories from the depths of her mind.
【I knew you’d forget, hmph hmph.】
Luo Ke couldn’t help but smile, her eyes curving. She looked at the cat sprawled on the chair and reached out to touch her ear.
Lin Sifei’s ear twitched. She shifted, covered her head, and continued to sleep.
Luo Ke chuckled, made a mental note of the tablet’s contents, and decided to see if this person would pose a threat.
She went downstairs. Auntie Wu hadn’t finished making breakfast yet. “Miss Luo, you’re up early today.”
“I slept very well yesterday.” With a click, Luo Ke fastened the cufflink on her sleeve as she stood in the dining room.
Seeing Auntie Wu take out two glass bowls, she raised her lips in a slight smile. “Did Xiao Xiao make dessert yesterday?”
“Yes, she made it especially for you, Miss Luo. How did it taste?”
“It was delicious.” Luo Ke walked closer and helped her carry a plate. “Xiao Xiao is clumsy, so it must have been difficult for her. She must have worked very hard yesterday.”
“Yes, she even wanted to take notes in a notebook.”
As Auntie Wu recounted the story of yesterday’s dessert-making, Luo Ke’s mind constructed a series of images based on her words.
She took a sip of congee.
Mm, my Xiao Xiao really is the best.
When Lin Sifei woke up, the sky outside was already bright. Luo Ke’s discarded pajamas were in the bathroom.
Lin Sifei casually tossed them into the washing machine and hummed a happy tune as she washed up.
After she was done, she grabbed her phone and went downstairs to eat.
Breakfast was a very plain green vegetable congee. Lin Sifei nodded in satisfaction, hoping Luo Ke would get better soon.
While eating her congee, Lin Sifei opened her phone and saw a 99+ message notification. Curious, she clicked on it and saw that the small group chat for the horror film crew was especially active.
She noticed that two new member icons had been added to the group profile picture. She tapped on it and saw that one was Bai Su, and the other was her manager.
【Lin Sifei: ??? Why is Senior Bai Su in the group?】
【Wang Zhixin: Miss Bai wants to join our cast too!】
【Manager: Our Bai Su just wanted to take a look first; she thinks it’s a little interesting.】
Seeing the manager’s reply, which immediately created an escape route, Lin Sifei snorted. This movie was still an internal company project; she wouldn’t necessarily agree to let outsiders join.
【Bai Su: Actually, I’m very interested, but I’m very busy with work, and I need to convince my company. Plus, I just gave birth, so my workload needs to be considered.】
【Wang Zhixin: Right, right, your health is the most important thing.】
Lin Sifei felt that this director was probably a brain-dead fan of Bai Su. She was the biggest investor!
Wang Zhixin and Liu Zheng had already found a suitable role for Bai Su to look over. Bai Su accepted it and said thank you.
Lin Sifei stared at the screen, then exited the chat and saw a friend request from Bai Su.
Her heart wanted to refuse, but since they might really have to work together in the future, she tapped accept.
【Bai Su: Hello, Feifei.】
【Lin Sifei: Hello, Senior Bai.】
Plastic seniors and juniors.15
【Bai Su: I have some ideas about this film. Do you have time to meet up and chat?】
【Lin Sifei: You can talk to Wang Zhixin and Liu Zheng directly online. If it’s suitable, they can make changes.】
【Bai Su: I’d prefer to talk in person. And I’ve been wanting to meet you. I’m very curious about such an outstanding junior.】
A chill ran down Lin Sifei’s spine. Her animal instincts were sounding the alarm again.
Even though she was using gentle words and cute emojis, it felt like the person on the other side was a fox in rabbit’s clothing.
She took a deep breath and continued to refuse.
【Bai Su: Do you dislike me? Was it because I hugged you at the awards ceremony? Actually, I’ve been paying attention to you since then. I think you’re wonderful.】
She sent a crying emoji, looking pitiful and wronged.
But who was Lin Sifei? She was a taken woman. So, she refused her, coldly and heartlessly.
She put down her phone and ignored the messages. She went upstairs, grabbed a book, and curled up in a chair to read.
At noon, after lunch, Lin Sifei practiced making the dessert again on her own. She tasted it and found it was pretty good.
So, she happily ate a bowl and planned to make another for Luo Ke in the afternoon.
The phone on the table rang again. She picked it up and saw it was Li Tao.
“Hello? What is it now?”
“Did Bai Su ask to meet you? What were you thinking, refusing her?”
Lin Sifei walked nonchalantly towards the gym. “I just don’t want to see her. It’s not like she can give me any resources. The resources I have now are already pretty strong.”
If there were good resources, Bai Su would definitely keep them for herself. The ones she shared would surely be average.
“You still need to maintain a good relationship. One more friend is one less enemy. And besides, say what you will about Bai Su, but if you really offend her, you’ll have a chunk of flesh bitten out of you.”
Lin “Little White Rabbit” Sifei timidly shrugged her shoulders. This Bai Su really was hard to get along with.
“I get it. You can schedule a time.”
“Tomorrow, then. We can’t keep her waiting too long.”
Lin Sifei had no objections. She was pretty free recently anyway.
She turned on the treadmill, put on her headphones, and started running.
That evening, Luo Ke received another bowl of dessert, and they had dinner together.
“I’m about to finish up with work. Once the contract is negotiated, I’ll be free for a while. Your film will be starting production right around then, so I can accompany you.”
Lin Sifei’s eyes lit up. “This horror film is just for a change of pace. Do you want to be an extra?”
“Sure, but I’ve never acted before. If I’m not good, then never mind.” Luo Ke wasn’t particularly concerned about being on camera, but she was very happy about the idea of being in the same frame as her Xiao Xiao. It was the kind of joy that came from showing off their love.
“Don’t worry, you’ll have me to guide you,” Lin Sifei said, puffing out her chest.
Then she remembered her meeting with Bai Su tomorrow, and her face fell.
After listening to her complaints, Luo Ke propped her chin on her hand. “Don’t worry. Take Li Jing with you tomorrow. If she does anything out of line, you don’t have to put up with it.”
Lin Sifei nodded forcefully, her face set with determination, as if she were heading off to some battlefield.
Luo Ke couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you that scared?”
“She’s a senior who’s been acting for a long time. Her fanbase and her accumulated experience here are much greater than mine. If she really starts trouble, she’ll be very difficult to deal with. She’s not like Yan Yafei, who’s just a newcomer.”
She sighed. “Do you know what a ‘childhood goddess’ is?”
“I don’t.” Luo Ke shook her head earnestly. “I only know that you are my goddess.”
Lin Sifei’s lips curved into a smile, and she reached out to tap her on the nose. “You’re just saying nice things to coax me.”
Luo Ke smiled and nibbled on her fingertip. Lin Sifei pulled her hand back, blushing.
Luo Ke moved forward and hugged her. “If I had been born in your world, I might have really become your fan. I might have even become a big spending fan.”16
“No, you’d definitely be a sasaeng fan,17 using your money to follow my flights18 every day.”
“I wouldn’t. If you didn’t like it and told me off once, I definitely wouldn’t dare to do it again.”
Lin Sifei reached out and pinched her cheek. “You’re that well-behaved?”
“I’ve always been well-behaved.” Luo Ke looked at her, then leaned in and kissed her on the lips.
The author has something to say:
President Luo: I just want to feed everyone dog food.19.
For the extras, I want to write an “if” storyline about being a celebrity fan in Lin-kitty’s world. Everyone must remember to remind me! Otherwise, my goldfish brain20 will definitely not remember. ORZ
I have no faith in my own brain.
