After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 85

Preparing for the Engagement

I’m True Love

Subject: Do you guys think Lin Sifei and Lu Heng are for real?

OP: I’m not a CP Fan1, but after seeing the movie, I thought they were a pretty good match. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then all those sweet interactions suddenly came out, and I was sold! But now there’s no news at all. Why do you have to do this to me!

1F: The Lin Lu CP2 is fake!

2F: OP, be careful not to attract that die-hard3 Lin Sifei fan.

3F: No way, 1F. Rich woman4, kangkang me5!

4F: Definitely fake. Don’t worry, OP. Didn’t they just go film a variety show? The Production Team must have invited them just for the CP interactions.

5F: Lin Sifei definitely helped Lu Heng switch companies, but I think they keep their distance off-screen to avoid suspicion.

6F: Avoiding suspicion means one of two things: either it’s real, or one of them already has a partner.

Luo Ke scanned the earnest discussion in the thread. Most users concluded the two were faking it. Satisfied, she hummed softly and put down her phone.

Beside her, the cat was reviewing financial reports from several entertainment companies. A few, whose management rights weren’t held by the Luo Corporation, were developing quite well. Lin Sifei took a look, focusing on the Luo Corporation-managed Ju Luo Culture6 and Feng Xiao’s company, Xinghe Culture7.

“Meow, meow, meow.” Lin Sifei patted her arm. Luo Ke picked up her phone to read the message she’d sent.

【Ju Luo Culture has seen a huge decline since its acquisition because the Luo Corporation has barely invested in the entertainment circle8. Are you considering investing?】

Luo Ke nodded. “I made quite a bit from that last movie of yours. I’m sure Director Chen’s next film will be worth my investment, too. Since I can recoup the costs, I’ll invest. I can provide around two billion in funding. Be frugal.”

Lin Sifei patted her paws to show she understood. She didn’t look at the projects first, instead giving the actors’ profiles a quick review, especially the more popular ones.

Xinghe Culture didn’t have any big names left. The most popular actor at Ju Luo Culture was probably looking to terminate their contract, too. But with her around, at least things would be a little more stable.

Lin Sifei typed on the keyboard, having someone start compiling a list of investable projects. Her manager needed to start fighting for scripts.

“What should we have for lunch?” Lin Sifei looked up from the computer, dazed for a moment, and opened her mouth.

Before she could even let out a “meow,” Luo Ke stood up, shooting her a smiling glance. “I almost forgot, you’re a cat right now. Cat food for you it is, then.”

“Meow, meow, meow!” Can’t you go buy some sashimi?

She suddenly remembered that boss who had flown into a rage out of humiliation9 after his confession failed. His restaurant’s sashimi was so good.

Lin Sifei’s mouth started to water, but he was a love rival. She didn’t feel comfortable letting him have any contact with Luo Ke.

Lin Sifei slumped resentfully onto the desk. When Luo Ke came to pick her up for lunch, a pair of cat eyes stared mournfully up at her.

Luo Ke was a little baffled. “What did I do to offend you this time? You’re the one who said it was fine to turn into a cat today.”

Lin Sifei reached out a soft paw pad and kneaded her face a couple of times. Luo Ke leaned into the touch, enjoying the feeling.

Seeing Luo Ke’s oblivious expression, Lin Sifei sighed mournfully again. Whatever. For my girlfriend’s sake, what’s a little food? I absolutely can’t give him an opportunity to exploit10. Aren’t there always people trying to use pets as an excuse to get close to someone these days?

With the Luo family relatives no longer causing trouble, Luo Ke found work far more relaxing and had even started learning how to make cat food from Auntie Wu.

Lin Sifei bit into the fish, eating with pure delight.

Crunch, crunch. She devoured the fish bones one after another.

After the meal, Lin Sifei was about to go back to work when Luo Ke scooped her up.

“How did I never realize you were such a workaholic?”

Lin Sifei meowed in protest. I just started, of course I have to be more attentive!

Luo Ke held her and sat down on the sofa. “Let’s not worry about work for today.”

Lin Sifei tilted her head curiously. Then what are we doing?

“You really forgot.” Luo Ke feigned annoyance and picked up a photo album. “My engagement ceremony needs planning, too.”

Lin Sifei’s cat eyes shot wide open. She stared at her, stupefied. “Meow!”

Oh god, I completely forgot.

She scrambled up, reaching out with both paws for the album.

Luo Ke chuckled and placed the album on her lap, nudging her to sit closer.

“I chose the Lingqu Hotel11 downtown for the venue. They have a grand hall.” Luo Ke opened it to the first page, which showed a starry sky theme.

Lin Sifei’s jaw dropped. It’s so beautiful.

Luo Ke couldn’t help but find her dumbfounded expression adorable. She poked her on the cheek.

Lin Sifei turned back, baffled, and shot her a sidelong glance before scooting her butt over to continue looking.

Luo Ke reached for another album. “These are the matching wedding dresses.”

Lin Sifei glanced at them and immediately recoiled in disgust. These dresses are so ugly.

“The dresses are part of the package. If we choose our own, they might clash12 with the setting and look even worse,” Luo Ke explained, having read her mind.

Lin Sifei gave the starry sky theme a regretful look, then tapped the album, telling her to turn the page.

The album turned to the second page, this time featuring a sky-and-clouds theme. Lin Sifei didn’t like something so delicate and had her keep turning.

The company had sent over many options. Lin Sifei lay on the floor, picking through them one by one until she had narrowed it down to a dozen or so. Then she started to hesitate.

She tapped Luo Ke, asking which ones she liked.

Luo Ke had been choosing with her all along and eliminated a few from the dozen that she didn’t care for.

In the end, five remained.

Lin Sifei walked back and forth over the open albums before finally deciding on the one in the middle. It looked rather ordinary on its own, but it would be stunning when paired with a silver and white wedding dress.

Because they were both women, Luo Ke had specifically told the company they needed two wedding dresses.

Once the time and place were set, Luo Ke sent out invitations to everyone.

Lin Sifei felt there were too many people to invite, and handwriting the invitations would be exhausting, so she had the company print them.

“When we get married, we’ll use handwritten invitations,” Lin Sifei typed, showing her the screen.

Luo Ke laughed and picked her up, nuzzling her head. “In that case, I’d better start preparing the invitations now, writing a few each day. Otherwise, I know you’ll complain that it’s too much trouble later.”

Lin Sifei knew herself well—that was exactly what she was like. So she nodded emphatically and meowed for Luo Ke to tell the wedding planning company to send over more invitations.

Luo Ke couldn’t help but laugh, planting a smacking kiss on her lips.

Lin Sifei’s eyes widened slightly. With a poof, she turned back into a person.

Luo Ke stared at her in astonishment. “How did you turn back into a person?!”

“I don’t know! Has it been twelve hours?”
