After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 8

Grabbing the Little Braid1

The kitty tried very hard.

Three days passed in a flash. Lin Sifei commuted to and from work with Luo Ke every day.

The people in the company went from initial alarm to a state of Minister-of-Works-sees-it-often2, watching a lame cat stroll around the company every day.

Lin Sifei made her rounds as usual. At first, Luo Ke was worried whenever she ran out of the office, but then she snuck out on her own once and came back with a pile of treats given to her by the employees.

With a cold expression, Luo Ke confiscated all her snacks. Lin Sifei was so angry she reached out and scratched her. Those were a gift from someone else! Give them back, now!

Luo Ke pulled open a drawer, put the snacks inside, and locked it. “If you eat too many snacks, will you still eat your meals?”

Lin Sifei snorted coldly and turned her head away. She wasn’t a child; how could she skip a meal for snacks? She angrily turned and flopped onto the desk, covering her eyes with her paws and ignoring her.

Luo Ke reached out and poked her bottom. “Angry? Crying?”

Lin Sifei kicked her leg out, knocking her hand away. Pervert, where do you think you’re touching?

Helpless, Luo Ke could only take out a few bags of snacks. “You can only have this much, no more.”

Lin Sifei happily flipped over on the desk, watching her and waiting for her to open them.

Luo Ke poured them into the cat bowl for her. Seeing her like this, she couldn’t help but chuckle. The moment food was mentioned, she perked right up, as if afraid people didn’t know she could understand.

After finishing the snacks, Lin Sifei licked her lips and looked at Luo Ke. Luo Ke pinched her ear. “Don’t even think about it.”

Lin Sifei’s eyes darted, and she flopped back onto the desk, pretending to be angry again. Unfortunately, Luo Ke saw right through her this time. She rubbed her head and picked up her files to go to a meeting.

“Meow!” You pet the cat but don’t give it food, have you no shame?!

Lin Sifei jumped to the floor, lifted a paw, and rested it on the drawer, only to find it was a combination lock. It’s just confiscating snacks, why make it feel like a classified document?

She pawed at it resentfully for a long time but couldn’t open it. With a sigh, Lin Sifei decisively ran out of the office, charged into the employee area, and harvested another batch of snacks, which she opened and ate on the spot.

At noon, Luo Ke prepared a cat meal of fish for her. Staring at the full bowl, which was perfect in color, aroma, and taste, Lin Sifei opened her mouth but couldn’t take a bite.

She was too stuffed from the snacks; she really couldn’t eat anymore.

Lin Sifei cautiously glanced at Luo Ke’s expression, pretending to nibble at the fish on top.

Luo Ke seemed not to notice and turned her head away. Lin Sifei immediately tried to run, but before she could take more than a few steps, Luo Ke scooped her up from behind.

Luo Ke gave her belly a couple of rubs, making Lin Sifei kick her legs in embarrassment.

“Your stomach is so round. You ate quite a bit, didn’t you.”

Lin Sifei’s legs stiffened. She looked up at her and couldn’t stop a hiccup from escaping.

Luo Ke’s face immediately darkened. That very day, she issued a new notice forbidding company employees from feeding Xiao Xiao.

Thinking of this, Lin Sifei sighed. After that, the employees truly didn’t dare to feed her. Occasionally, when an outsider came on business and wanted to feed her, their hand would be stopped by an employee before it even got far.

Take the person before her now, for instance. Lin Sifei watched Zhao Min pull the woman back and bite her ear3, “Don’t feed President Luo’s cat. Our President Luo is very possessive; Xiao Xiao isn’t allowed to be fed by others.”

Hearing Luo Ke’s image gradually become one of a petty person, Lin Sifei finally felt a bit more balanced. She swished her tail and walked away.

She rounded the corridor and slowed her pace, looking left and right. After confirming no one was around, she tiptoed to a hiding spot at the corner of the hallway, her pair of cat eyes fixed firmly on a door not far away.

“The materials are confirmed to be problem-free. We can submit them directly to President Luo now. If this passes, then tomorrow we officially go to the battlefield4. Is everyone ready?”

“Ready!” a chorus of shouts came from the office.

Lin Sifei watched the team leader take the materials to find Luo Ke and hurriedly squeezed through the crack in the door.

Lately, this group had been working overtime every day, completely holed up in the office with the door closed, giving her no chance to sneak in and scout the terrain.

“Huh? Isn’t that President Luo’s cat?”

She was recognized the moment she entered. Lin Sifei wasn’t flustered at all. Relying on the fact that she had the president’s backing, she openly jumped onto a desk and began to stroll around. She observed the office environment. It was quite ordinary, with one workstation per person. The glass room on the inner side belonged to the team leader, and a long table was placed between the employees’ area and the leader’s office.

Lin Sifei narrowed her eyes and walked a circle around the office. The book never detailed where the female lead lost the proposal, and it was never mentioned again later. The partnership negotiation took place in a holiday villa where the employees of Bai’erluo were all staying. The team members brought the USB drive and the proposal over, but both ended up lost, with only some supplementary materials remaining.

It was unlikely they were lost on the way, since it wasn’t just one person. The most likely place… was this office.

Lin Sifei’s eyes scanned the surroundings bit by bit, searching for possible locations.

“This is a workplace, it’s not really appropriate for a cat to be in here.” Yan Yafei looked at the cat’s head, remembering how she had been bitten and stepped on before, and a surge of anger rose in her heart.

A woman next to her tentatively reached out to pet Lin Sifei’s head. “Stroking a cat can relieve stress. We’ve been busy for so long, isn’t this perfect?”

The people around them all gathered to see the cat, reaching out their hands to pet her. Lin Sifei shuddered, looking in terror at the group of people extending their demonic claws5.

Yan Yafei pouted, crossing her arms. “President Luo is so petty. If she knew you were stroking her cat, she’d probably get angry.”

With President Luo brought up, everyone did indeed become a little worried. President Luo didn’t even allow feeding snacks; stroking the cat was probably even more out of the question.

The group sheepishly retracted their hands. A smile appeared on Yan Yafei’s face. “Let’s send the cat out. The proposal was just submitted. We can’t afford to make President Luo unhappy, or we’ll have to do it all over again.”

Lin Sifei frowned. Wait, what does this woman mean? Is she implying that Luo Ke would give them small shoes to wear6 because of personal feelings?

Her face scrunched up in anger. Luo Ke was the most serious person when it came to work; it was impossible for her to bring personal emotions into it. This woman was splashing dirty water7 on her, both openly and secretly.

“Meow!” Lin Sifei arched her body, hissed at her, and then leaped abruptly onto her shoulder, her claws rustling through her hair and messing it up.

“Ah!” Yan Yafei clutched her head and screamed.

Lin Sifei laughed, jumped onto her desk, and kicked over her water cup. The water quickly soaked the documents on her desk.

The office erupted into chaos. Lin Sifei let out a “meow,” hopped leisurely off the desk, and left.

She scurried off, running quickly back to Luo Ke’s office. Zhao Min watched her slip inside and shook her head helplessly. Where has she caused trouble this time?

The proposal was successfully approved. Luo Ke began to contact the people at Bai’erluo. They would send someone over the next day, who would rest for a day to adjust, and then they could begin negotiations.

The plot point8 was about to arrive. Lin Sifei was too nervous to sleep. Late at night, she tossed and turned next to Luo Ke’s ear.

Luo Ke sucked in a breath, sat up, and switched on the bedside lamp.

Lin Sifei let out a “meow” and raised a paw to cover her eyes.

Luo Ke tapped her little head. “What are you doing, not sleeping in the middle of the night?”

Lin Sifei shot her a glare and rolled over to face away from her.

Luo Ke picked her up and tucked her into the blankets. “Alright, I’ll give you a few more snacks tomorrow. Go to sleep.”

Lin Sifei sighed and closed her eyes, trying to sleep.

The entire night was spent in a state between sleep and wakefulness. Lin Sifei felt dizzy and muddle-headed. She shook her head to clear it.

As soon as they got to the company, Lin Sifei refused to go to the office, insisting on staying in the hallway to play.

Luo Ke was helpless. She scratched her chin. “I have to go discuss the partnership in a bit, so it’s not convenient to bring you. Zhao Min will stay here. Look for her when you come back.”

Lin Sifei meowed, indicating she understood.

Luo Ke rubbed her head and let her go play. Everyone in the company knew her, so she wasn’t worried about anything happening.

The moment she was out of Luo Ke’s line of sight, Lin Sifei immediately started running. She darted into the corner she had spied from yesterday and watched as the members of the team came out with a pile of things, still adjusting their clothes.

The team leader re-tied his tie, then leaned out and shouted to Yan Yafei, “Hey, Yafei, confirm the materials one more time, especially the proposal and the USB drive.”

“Got it.”

The team leader and the person next to him went down first, carrying some of the documents. Lin Sifei quickly moved to the outside of the door, observing the female lead through the crack.

Yan Yafei was touching up her makeup with lipstick. She looked left and right, then smiled in satisfaction. She picked up the bag and folder from her desk and left cheerfully, her high heels clicking.

Lin Sifei had already snuck under a desk in the office and watched her leave.

The door closed. Lin Sifei climbed out, jumped onto the female lead’s desk, and began to flip through the folders on it with difficulty.

Not this one, not this one either, and not any of these over here.

She extended a paw and hooked open a drawer. It was filled with miscellaneous odds and ends. Her eyes lit up when she saw a USB drive.

She picked it up with her mouth, plugged it into the computer, and turned the computer on to check that it was the one she was looking for. She clicked her tongue twice. This girl is so careless. She just left the USB drive behind.

She pulled out the USB drive, forcing the computer to shut down. Lin Sifei then circled the desktop again but couldn’t find the proposal document.

She started to worry. Could the proposal not be here? She jumped down, and holding the USB drive in her mouth, she leaped from the desk to the door handle, hanging from it to open the door.

The employees who had gone to see the team off were just returning. They laughed when they saw her. “President Luo’s cat has learned how to open doors.”

Afraid the USB drive would be discovered, Lin Sifei ran away at top speed. She was heading for Luo Ke’s office when the corner of her eye caught a familiar figure. She screeched to a halt and trotted over to the hallway.

Peeking her head out, she saw Yan Yafei holding a stack of documents while talking on the phone.

“I already said I don’t need it. Our company is already working on the partnership. If you want to do it, then talk to our company. At most, you can say you know me. I can’t accept work directly; if people from the company find out, it will cause gossip.”

Lin Sifei’s eyes widened. That coy tone, that casual way of talking about partnerships like a domineering CEO9… the one talking to the female lead, could it be that Brother Number One?

“Aiya, I already said—Ah!”

Lin Sifei’s eyes widened as she watched the female lead twist her ankle and fall to the ground. The documents flew into the air, scattering like flower petals.

“Xiao Fei, what happened?!” a man’s anxious voice came from the phone.

“I… I fell. It hurts so much,” Yan Yafei began to cry softly.

“Don’t be scared, I’m on my way.”

The call ended. Yan Yafei sniffled and raised her head. “My eye makeup is going to run. Good thing I was just short of actually crying.”

She sat on the floor gathering the scattered papers. Once she had picked up most of them, she tugged at her skirt and walked away.

Lin Sifei hid behind a potted plant. After Yan Yafei left, she ran to the spot where she had fallen and circled it carefully a few times. Her eyes caught sight of something white under the crack of a nearby door.

She lay on the floor and extended her sharp claws. Using her nails, she hooked the edge of the papers and pulled them out. As expected, she managed to retrieve several sheets.

A smile appeared on her face. I knew it, how could a huge document like the proposal just disappear? So it was only a part of it that got lost.

This time, it’s a sure thing. Female lead, if you have to blame someone, blame yourself for being too father-pitting10… no, for pitting the villain.
