Shuaishuai, Charge Duck!1
“Yafei, do you want to come to my house for a drink today?”
Yan Yafei was holding her phone. She was still filming right now. If she were to go back, she’d need to take an urgent flight and then hurry back early the next morning.
This Yuan Mo’s really inconsiderate. She rolled her eyes, but her words were very gentle. “What’s wrong? Did you argue with Uncle again?”
Yuan Mo sighed. “He just can’t understand me recently.”
“It’s okay, you’re father and son.” Yan Yafei leaned back in her chair, annoyed. Right now, she only had Yuan Mo as her backer. She couldn’t let his father persuade him; she had to stay by his side at all times to watch.
“I’m not too busy recently. I’ll go over tonight to chat with you.”
“Thank you, you’re so nice.”
“What’s the big deal? We’re friends.” Yan Yafei let out a laugh, made some small talk, and then hung up the phone.
Yuan Mo leaned against the sofa, pinching the space between his eyebrows from a headache.
“Miao~”
He turned his head and saw Shuaishuai meowing softly by his feet. In that instant, he felt as if a lifetime had passed2. He remembered how happy he was when he first brought Shuaishuai home. The company was steaming and rising day by day3, the piece of land he was cooperating on with Luo Ke was under construction, and his father and he would also talk and laugh. It was nothing like now, where he was exhausted by company affairs all day long and hadn’t seriously spent time with his cat in a long while.
“Shuaishuai, come here. Let me hold you.”
Yuan Mo smiled and bent over, picking Shuaishuai up and placing him on his lap. He stroked his back with his hand and hooked his finger around his ear.
“Miao~” Shuaishuai rubbed against him, lay down on his leg, and exposed his belly.
Yuan Mo laughed out loud, gave him a couple of pets, and then suddenly froze. He looked at the cat fur on his hand. “Why are you shedding so much fur?”
Shuaishuai’s tail stiffened. The entire cat became dumbfounded like a stick.
Yuan Mo shook his head helplessly. “Is it because I haven’t brushed you in too long? Wait a moment, I’ll go get the little comb.”
He got up to find the cat-grooming glove. Shuaishuai scrambled to his feet and stood up, pacing nervously on the sofa. He’s shedding!
Seeing Yuan Mo getting closer and closer, Shuaishuai jumped off the sofa and tried to run.
“Hey, what are you running for? Don’t you love being brushed the most? It’s so comfortable.” Yuan Mo held him, pressed him onto his lap, and began brushing him bit by bit.
Shuaishuai shivered and meowed. It was just too comfortable.
Yuan Mo watched him comfortably flip his belly up again after just a moment and shook his head helplessly. “You, oh, you.”
After a couple of brushes, the cat fur on the glove grew more and more. Yuan Mo gathered the cat fur into a ball, and the fur ball grew larger and larger. He finally realized something was wrong. How could he be shedding so much fur?
He stopped his hand in confusion, took off the glove, and stroked the cat. He still got a handful of fur.
Yuan Mo immediately became nervous. In order to raise a cat well, he had specifically learned many points to pay attention to when raising cats. This cat’s abnormal fur loss definitely meant there was a problem somewhere.
He immediately stood up, found the cat carrier, and put Shuaishuai inside.
Shuaishuai was instantly horrified. Is he going to be abandoned now?!
He glanced at the fur ball beside him. It’s just because I’m shedding fur?!
Shuaishuai hopelessly let go. If it’s abandonment, then it’s abandonment. Humans only look at appearances, ying ying ying.4
Yuan Mo put him in the carrier. Looking at the cat who had no vitality at all, he grew even more worried. Why isn’t he moving at all? Is it this serious?
“Shuaishuai, don’t worry. I’m taking you to the hospital to have a look. Don’t be scared.”
Shuaishuai’s ears twitched. The hospital? It wasn’t abandonment.
He let out a “miao” and looked at Yuan Mo again.
Yuan Mo gently scratched the top of his head, zipped up the cat carrier, and went out. As soon as he entered the hospital, he urgently asked for help to look at the cat, which scared the doctor into thinking something was wrong with the cat.
After asking about the general situation, the doctor heard Yuan Mo say the cat had no spirit and frowned seriously. “How’s its appetite?”
“This… I’ve been at work all the time. The nanny has been taking care of him.”
The doctor shook his head helplessly. “Let’s run some tests first and see.”
A series of tests came out, and there were no major problems. The doctor discovered that Shuaishuai was a bit overly nervous. Logically speaking, he had always done check-ups for Shuaishuai before, and this cat had always been a relatively gentle type.
“Has the cat been frightened by anything recently?” The doctor reached out to hold Shuaishuai down, parting his fur to check. “He has a purple spot here, look.”
Yuan Mo leaned in, a little surprised. Although Shuaishuai had been shedding severely recently, he wasn’t bald yet, so he really hadn’t paid attention.
“Did he bump into something?”
The doctor continued parting the fur to check. “We just took an X-ray. There are no fractures. These blue and purple marks will be fine after a couple of days of recovery. Look, it’s blue here too.”
The doctor looked at the blue and purple patches on the Ragdoll cat’s body, and his expression gradually turned ugly. “You really don’t know?”
“I haven’t really been watching him recently.” Yuan Mo watched Shuaishuai lying on the table meowing. He didn’t know if it was because the doctor pressed on a wound and he was in pain.
He reached out and stroked Shuaishuai’s head. “I’m sorry, Shuaishuai.”
The doctor withdrew his hand, also frowning. “You should go back and install a surveillance camera to see if the nanny is abusing the cat. These wounds aren’t a big deal. You can go buy some safflower oil to rub on them, or you can wait a couple of days for them to fade on their own.”
“Thank you, Doctor.” Yuan Mo put Shuaishuai back into the cat carrier, and with a grim face, he made a phone call to contact someone to come install surveillance cameras at his home.
He drove back to the residential complex and happened to run into Luo Ke holding her cat. He looked at the cat in Luo Ke’s arms, which was stretching its paws to climb onto Luo Ke’s head. Its fur was glossy, and its eyes had spirit. One look and you could tell it was very well-raised.
He turned his head to look at the cat carrier on the passenger seat. Shuaishuai was lying inside, listless.
He took a deep breath and got out carrying the cat carrier.
Luo Ke was a little surprised to see him. She glanced at the cat carrier. “President Yuan, where did you take your cat?”
“I just came back from the hospital.” Yuan Mo’s expression wasn’t very good. “Back then, when President Luo reminded me to install a surveillance camera, did you know something?”
“I don’t understand what President Yuan is saying. We’re often very busy with work, and we worry the cats aren’t safe at home, so of course we should install a surveillance camera. What’s wrong? Is something the matter with Shuaishuai?”
Yuan Mo looked at the cat with big eyes on her shoulder that was staring at him. He could only put down his face and ask for advice. “Today, Shuaishuai went for a check-up, and there are blue and purple marks on his body. I suspect the nanny did it.”
“She won’t admit it even if you ask. Install a surveillance camera first and get the evidence.”
Yuan Mo nodded, somewhat dejected. Recently, all matters were truly not going smoothly. Even the cat had an accident.
“Perhaps you could also bring your cat to the company like I do. Now, if I don’t bring Xiaoxiao over, people at the company will ask me where the cat went. As long as you don’t let them feed her randomly, once she gets used to the company environment, the cat will be very comfortable.”
“I’ll consider it,” Yuan Mo nodded, said goodbye to Luo Ke, and opened his door to go home.
Lin Sifei lay on Luo Ke’s shoulder, staring intently at the apartment door.
“Miao~” Lin Sifei meowed, tapping on Luo Ke’s custom cat keyboard. “To actually have blue and purple marks, Shuaishuai is truly miserable.”
“Seeing how nervous Yuan Mo is, if he discovers that Yan Yafei is abusing the cat, it’s actually possible he’ll give up on her directly.”
Lin Sifei narrowed her eyes, thinking to herself: This is the perfect time to see which is stronger, the female protagonist’s halo5 or the real world. If Yuan Mo really tolerates Yan Yafei even after this, then the next few male leads will probably be the same. In that case, I’ll have to confront them head-on.
A thousand li away, Yan Yafei was removing her makeup on the film set. She had asked the director for leave. Because she had the connection of Yuan Mo behind her, the director very readily let her go.
However, she didn’t plan to go to the airport right away, but rather to go see another person. Not long ago, she found out that the Film Emperor6 Feng Tingyun was actually vacationing nearby. Of course, she wouldn’t miss such a good opportunity.
For the past two days, she had been designing coincidental encounters with Feng Tingyun and pretending to be a little fangirl from the entertainment circle. Just today, after she finished her call with Yuan Mo, he came to visit the set.
Yan Yafei was happy in her heart, but she knew there were plenty of fangirls. To be able to attract the Film Emperor, being just a fangirl wasn’t enough. So, she deliberately pretended not to know the Film Emperor, nor did she worship him.
Feng Tingyun said he was there to see the juniors and give some guidance. When he saw the makeup-free Yan Yafei actually glance at him once and then leave, he couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows. He politely declined the invitations from the group of people around him and quietly followed her.
“Hey, walk a little slower.” He jogged a step forward and walked shoulder-to-shoulder with Yan Yafei.
Yan Yafei immediately widened her eyes, looking flustered. She took a mask out of her bag and stood on her tiptoes to put it on him.
“Don’t worry, idol, this one is new. I haven’t used it.”
Feng Tingyun’s hand that was about to take off the mask then stopped. “Why do you want to put a mask on me? And just now you pretended not to know me. What happened to being a fangirl?”
Yan Yafei, carrying her bag, lowered her head a little dejectedly. “If my idol suddenly comes to the film set, he’ll definitely be photographed by the puppies7. I don’t want to rub off on your popularity.”8
“What’s the big deal about that? Plenty of people rub off on my popularity. Besides, you really are my fangirl, so it doesn’t count as rubbing off on popularity.”
“No, no.” Yan Yafei shook her head and looked at him seriously. “I’ll work hard at filming. When I become famous in the future, I’ll then say you’re my idol. That way, it won’t be rubbing off on popularity, but rather making you have light on your face.”9
“That’s fine.” Feng Tingyun smiled and joked, “Just don’t say ‘I grew up watching your shows!’ when the time comes. Then I’ll really be immediately blackened10 as old.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t.” Yan Yafei’s eyes curved into a smile.
Feng Tingyun had an expression of disbelief, which made Yan Yafei hmph twice.
“Looking like this, where are you going? The crew hasn’t wrapped up yet.”
“I need to go home for a trip.” Yan Yafei frowned. “A friend of mine had a falling out with his father, so I’m going to try and persuade him. Actually, his father has always cared about him a lot, it’s just that his way of expressing it isn’t quite right. If I can talk him around, that would be great.”
Feng Tingyun looked at her smiling appearance and raised an eyebrow. “You’re quite kind-hearted.”
“I’m not kind-hearted at all.” Yan Yafei turned her head away. “I’m just concerned about a friend. How does that count as being kind-hearted?”
“Being able to consider your friends is already very good.” Feng Tingyun looked at the city river beside them, and for some reason, he sighed.
Yan Yafei seized the small crack. “Idol, did you think of your own friends?” Feng Tingyun looked at her, and she immediately covered her mouth. “If idol doesn’t want to talk about it, then don’t.”
“It’s nothing. They’re old friends. Our ideals were different, so we gradually walked and gradually grew distant.”11 Feng Tingyun started smiling again. “Let me take you to the airport. Remember to come back early.”
“I will!”
Yan Yafei got out of the car, waved at Feng Tingyun, and ran into the airport.
Feng Tingyun watched her retreating figure, shook his head with amusement, and drove away.
Yan Yafei ran into the airport, took off the mask on her face, revealing the edge of the mask that had been hidden by her hair, and the blue embroidered character on it——
The mask she had just given Feng Tingyun was one of a pair of couple’s masks. His had a red “” character embroidered on it. According to Feng Tingyun’s cast position12, there were definitely puppies hiding around. Even if there weren’t any this time, as long as he wore that mask in front of a camera, she could deliberately expose her own mask.
She held the mask in her hand and smilingly flicked her hair.
This person Yuan Mo’s of too little use. He’s already a president, yet he could only find me a supporting role. And now he’s being constrained by his father all day. Since I’m going to mix in the entertainment circle now, the Film Emperor Feng Tingyun is more useful. I heard he’s also a rich second generation13, and he has many resources in his hands.
I can’t afford to offend Yuan Mo’s side, so I’ll just set it aside for now and let things slowly fade.
After getting off the plane, Yan Yafei immediately called Yuan Mo and asked him to come pick her up.
Yuan Mo was currently rubbing safflower oil on his hand and was talking to her on speakerphone.
As soon as Shuaishuai heard the voice from the phone, the entire cat wasn’t right. Instinct made him arch his back, assume an attacking posture, and cry out in a sharp voice.
“Shuaishuai, what’s wrong with you?” Yuan Mo nervously tried to grab him.
Shuaishuai zipped under the sofa. Yuan Mo could only kneel on the floor and bend over to look under the sofa. In the pitch-black space, Shuaishuai’s pair of glowing cat eyes were truly dazzling.
“Shuaishuai, come out.”
However, Shuaishuai looked at him, cowering motionlessly as if struck by lightning, and even hissed14 at him.
Yuan Mo was afraid he would get a swipe of a claw, so he helplessly straightened up.
Yan Yafei was still calling his name from the phone. Yuan Mo picked up the phone, annoyed, and wiped the sweat from his forehead. “Sorry Yafei, I’m afraid I can’t come pick you up. Shuaishuai’s situation isn’t right. I don’t dare leave him at home alone.”
Yan Yafei gritted her teeth. A cat is more important than me?
“It’s okay, I’ll just take a taxi myself. You take good care of Shuaishuai and see what’s wrong with him.”
“I will. Be careful on your way.”
Yan Yafei hung up the phone, let out a cold hmph, and went to get a taxi.
Yuan Mo washed the safflower oil off his hands. He called Shuaishuai for a long time, but he still wouldn’t come out. He was worried, so he pulled up the home surveillance feed and threw another camera under the sofa.
The camera had a night vision function. He could clearly see Shuaishuai’s condition. The space under the sofa made him relax a little, but his pair of eyes were still wide open, looking all around.
Yuan Mo was both amused and heartbroken. He tidied up his desk, using one computer to display the cat and another computer to handle company matters.
About an hour later, a sound came from the door of the house. Yan Yafei appeared, carrying her bag. “Yuan Mo-ge!”15
“Yafei.” Yuan Mo smiled and turned his head to look at her.
His gaze swept past the computer and landed on Yan Yafei. Suddenly, his brow furrowed.
Yan Yafei bent over to take off her shoes. Yuan Mo turned his head to look at the surveillance monitor. The cat on the screen, which had been quiet, suddenly showed an attacking posture again, and the entire cat burrowed deeper under the sofa.
“Yuan Mo-ge, have you eaten? Shall I make you something?” Yan Yafei walked over with a smile.
Yuan Mo’s body moved faster than his brain. He closed the laptop screen down a little, so that the standing Yan Yafei couldn’t see it.
Yan Yafei noticed his action, her brow twitched, but she continued to smile and sat down beside him. “What do you want to eat?”
Yuan Mo also felt that his own action was strange, but he still closed the laptop completely. “Plain noodles, I guess. I’m always going to restaurants for social engagements, so I don’t get to eat things like this instead.”
“Okay, I’ll go make it for you right now.” Yan Yafei got up and walked towards the kitchen.
Yuan Mo opened the laptop, took one last look at Shuaishuai, exited the surveillance feed, hid the surveillance icon in a folder, and after thinking for a moment, he locked it.
He took a deep breath and supported his forehead. Am I suspecting Yafei? I’m actually guarding against her as if she were a thief.
There was some struggle and guilt in the bottom of his heart, but in the end, he still didn’t mention that he had installed surveillance cameras in the house. If it wasn’t Yafei, this would perfectly prove her innocence, and he wouldn’t have to think east and think west16. At that time, he could properly apologize to her.
Yuan Mo had already thought about what to give her as an apology gift when Yan Yafei called him over to eat noodles.
Yuan Mo walked to the dining table, exaggeratedly closed his eyes to smell the aroma, and gave a thumbs-up. “Fragrant, amazing!”
“Hurry up and eat. Stop flattering me.” Yan Yafei smiled and sat across from him.
“You’re not eating?”
Yan Yafei pouted her lips. “I just got off the plane. I’m not feeling well and have no appetite.”
“You have to eat something even if you have no appetite.” Yuan Mo stood up, went into the kitchen to scoop a bowl for her, and placed it in front of her. “Eat a little. Eat as much as you can.”
Yan Yafei smiled as she took the chopsticks and took a bite of the noodles.
Yuan Mo ate his noodles, talking to her about his father as he ate. He complained a couple of times now and then, and Yan Yafei echoed his sentiments and comforted him.
Under the sofa, Shuaishuai carefully poked his head out from a gap. His big cat eyes stared at Yan Yafei. It’s it’s it’s it’s her! She’s here again! Xiaoxiao was right. If I don’t expose her, I’ll live in deep water and scorching fire17 in the future. Once all my fur falls out, I’ll be thrown away.
Shuaishuai swallowed his saliva. I absolutely can’t let this happen. I have to expose her true face.
As Yan Yafei ate her noodles, her eyes glanced over and saw the cat’s head peeking out from under the sofa. Her brow furrowed. She really hated cats.
Shuaishuai met her gaze and was so scared he retracted with a sou, closing his eyes and trembling. He extended his claws and carefully recalled the method Xiaoxiao had taught him: first, appear in front of the surveillance camera, and then, when Yan Yafei made a move, immediately cry out loudly.
“Oh right, Yafei, I bought a gift for you. I’ll go get it for you.”
Yan Yafei’s face turned slightly red. “Really, why would you buy me a gift?”
Yuan Mo smiled and strode upstairs to get the gift.
Yan Yafei watched him go upstairs, frowned, stood up, walked to the side of the sofa, and deliberately stomped her foot. By scaring it like this, that cat wouldn’t run out and be a nuisance.
Shuaishuai was hiding under the sofa, shivering. He finally stood up on trembling legs, quickly darted out, and ran towards the stairs.
Yan Yafei saw a white blur run past and was startled. She chased after it resentfully. Shuaishuai, afraid she wouldn’t be able to catch up, deliberately stood on the stairs without running, arching his back and baring his teeth at her.
Yan Yafei angrily grabbed the cat’s neck and lifted him up.
Shuaishuai’s eyes widened, and his four paws thrashed about. He opened his mouth wide, but he couldn’t make a sound.
Shuaishuai was so scared the entire cat was trembling, and his tongue lolled out.
Yan Yafei disgustedly threw him to the side. It’d be hard to explain a dead cat.
As soon as Shuaishuai was free, he scrambled up from the floor in fear and ran. However, he hadn’t forgotten Lin Sifei’s words. He looked back at Yan Yafei’s triumphant face, and malice grew from the side of his gallbladder.18
He suddenly turned around, pounced forward with all his might, and scratched her face with one claw.
“Ah!” Yan Yafei let out a miserable scream.
Shuaishuai had used all his strength in that pounce. Not being good at running and jumping, he couldn’t land properly and was thrown directly outwards.
He immediately stood up, all the fur on his body bristled, and he started crying out “aowu aowu”19 with his hoarse throat.
Yuan Mo heard the commotion and ran over quickly. “What happened?!”
Yan Yafei covered her face and couldn’t help but start crying. “My face, my face…”
Yuan Mo moved her hand away, saw the wound on her face, and looked at Shuaishuai in astonishment.
Shuaishuai’s cries stopped, and he let out a hoarse meow at him.
Yuan Mo frowned at him. “Shuaishuai, did you scratch this?!”
Shuaishuai looked at his expression and suddenly became afraid. His master isn’t on my side at all. He watched Yuan Mo walk over, immediately arched his back, and opened his mouth wide at him.
“Shuaishuai.” Yuan Mo still walked towards him.
Shuaishuai was so scared he turned and ran. However, Yuan Mo, worried he would get lost, had already sealed the windows. He ran a circle in the living room but there was no way out. His eyes spotted the space under the sofa, and with a sou, he darted back under it.
Yuan Mo looked at the frightened Shuaishuai, and slowly lowered his outstretched hand.
Yan Yafei was still crying. “Yuan Mo-ge, my face hurts so much. I’m so scared.”
But Yuan Mo didn’t answer, instead asking, “Why would Shuaishuai scratch you? He has always been very docile. He can’t even jump high and only ever claws at the cat teaser wand all day.”
“I don’t know. I just wanted to stand by the stairs and wait for you, and he suddenly rushed up and scratched me.”
Yuan Mo suddenly turned and glared at her. Yan Yafei felt a little uneasy and couldn’t help but shrink back. “Yuan Mo-ge…”
“Don’t call me that!” Yuan Mo suddenly grabbed a nearby vase and smashed it on the ground. Yan Yafei screamed in terror.
The vase shattered into countless pieces, revealing a black device hidden among the flower stems.
When Yan Yafei saw the surveillance device, her expression changed slightly.
Yuan Mo reached for the laptop and pulled up the video. He saw the way Yan Yafei treated the cat and looked at her hatefully. “You really are a good girl. Is there even a single true word in your mouth!”
Yan Yafei was so scared her whole person became dumbfounded. The evidence was conclusive, leaving no room for her to argue.
There were still tears in her eyes. She stared at him blankly. “No, it’s not like that.”
“What else could it be like!” Yuan Mo took two steps forward, pressing her relentlessly.
Yan Yafei couldn’t help but retreat, bumping into the wooden partition in the foyer. She held her breath in terror. “I… I… was just scared by the cat. Shuaishuai has always scratched and bitten me. I was just afraid.”
“I know you won’t believe me anymore. It was wrong of me to treat the cat like that.” Yan Yafei looked at her with a sob. “In the future, I won’t see you again. I’m truly sorry.”
She covered her mouth, crying as she pulled open the door and ran out.
Yuan Mo looked at the closed main door and sank decadently into the sofa. He reached out and clenched the clothes on his chest, unable to stop himself from roaring in anger.
This was the person he trusted.
The room fell silent. Yuan Mo lay on the sofa, going from anger at the beginning, to sadness, and then to complete disappointment. He let out a self-mocking laugh. It turned out that the passing of love was so easy. He thought he had loved so deeply, but after being woken up by a club, looking back, it was nothing but one scam after another.
He covered his face and knelt on the floor. “Shuaishuai, it’s okay now. Come on out.”
He lowered his head to look, but he didn’t see Shuaishuai’s eyes. He straightened up worriedly, knelt and took the laptop, found the feed from the surveillance device under the sofa, and saw Shuaishuai lying inside with his eyes closed.
Yuan Mo panicked now. He got back down on his stomach. “Shuaishuai! Shuaishuai!”
The cat in the video didn’t move at all.
Yuan Mo’s entire body was lying on the floor. He reached his hand under the sofa and gritted his teeth to grab the cat.
“Miao!” A cat’s cry sounded from under the sofa. Yuan Mo felt a pain on the back of his hand; he had been scratched.
“Shuaishuai!” Yuan Mo reached out his hand in pleasant surprise, seriously letting the cat’s claws scratch him, and stroked his back. “It’s okay, it’s okay. The bad person has been chased away.”
At first, Shuaishuai resisted and scratched him, but under his repeated stroking, he gradually quieted down.
Yuan Mo tried to put his arm around his back to pull the cat out, but as soon as Shuaishuai was moved, he resisted fiercely.
Yuan Mo could only stop moving him and got up to contact the doctor.
The doctor from the pet hospital came to the house personally. Yuan Mo explained the situation and showed him the video.
The doctor’s brows were tightly furrowed. He turned his head away, unable to bear watching. “Just in case, we need to go check if any bones or internal organs were injured.”
Yuan Mo put on gloves and, amidst Shuaishuai’s scratching and biting, put him into a cage.
The nurse took the cat to do the examination, and Yuan Mo sat on a chair to wait.
The doctor looked at his hand. “Go disinfect it and get a rabies vaccine. This scratch is a bit serious.”
Only then did Yuan Mo react. He raised his hand to look. His hand was covered in blood. There were several places so deep they looked like they were cut by a knife, and there was also a bite mark. He didn’t even know Shuaishuai had used his mouth.
The nurse disinfected his hand and gave him the shot. The results for Shuaishuai also came out.
The doctor glanced at them and breathed a sigh of relief. “Good, no internal organs or bones were injured. His luck is pretty good.”
Yuan Mo also breathed a sigh of relief.
The door to the room was pushed open. Luo Ke stood at the entrance holding her cat and raised her eyebrows. “What’s wrong with President Yuan?”
Yuan Mo lowered his head. “Yan Yafei does indeed abuse cats. I should have listened to your advice long ago. I’m sorry.”
“The one who needs an apology is your cat. She’s the one who suffered the abuse.”
Yuan Mo raised a hand to cover his face. Luo Ke glanced at his hand and averted her gaze. “Xiaoxiao and Shuaishuai are friends. Let the cat go see him.”
Lin Sifei let out a well-behaved miao. The doctor glanced over and nodded. “But to prevent Shuaishuai from attacking her, it has to be through the cage.”
Luo Ke nodded and carried Xiaoxiao over.
Xiaoxiao saw the dying Shuaishuai in the cage at a glance. She jumped in front of him and sighed. “Are you an idiot? Didn’t I tell you to run?”
“Her hands were too fast. I couldn’t react in time.” Shuaishuai lowered his head.
Lin Sifei sighed, reached her paw into the cage, and patted his head. “You were very brave. Your master has already chased that woman away. When you recover, he’ll take you home.”
“Really?!” Shuaishuai raised his head with a start.
“Really.”
