After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 2

Don’t Leave Me

Is That the Female Lead?

Lin Sifei woke up to the aroma of breakfast after sleeping soundly until dawn.

Last night, she had fallen asleep in the laundry basket, but this morning she woke up curled on the sofa with that same towel draped over her.

Lin Sifei pawed at the towel. It seems the villain isn’t that cold-hearted after all, she thought, she even covered me with a towel.

“Meow~” Lin Sifei looked at the height of the sofa, certain that a jump would result in a fracture. She could only meow to announce her presence.

Hearing the sound, Luo Ke didn’t even lift her head and continued eating her breakfast. An auntie1 wearing an apron walked over, placed a cat bowl on the floor, and then lifted her down.

“Here, Mimi2, time to eat.”

Lin Sifei was full of question marks. When did her name become Mimi? She tilted her head back and meowed in protest of the name.

“Go on, drink up.” The nanny auntie didn’t understand her thoughts and pushed the bowl closer to her face.

Helpless, Lin Sifei could only lower her head and drink the milk.

The auntie smiled at Luo Ke. “Miss Luo, this little cat is so well-behaved. What’s her name?”

Lin Sifei breathed a sigh of relief. So Mimi wasn’t her name after all.

Luo Ke picked up a napkin and wiped the corner of her mouth. “She doesn’t have a name. She’s a friend’s cat, and I’m returning her today. Wu-ma3, please make sure to clean up all the cat hair today.”

“Of course, Miss Luo.” Wu-ma gave Lin Sifei a reluctant look.

Lin Sifei was so shocked she stopped drinking her milk. What the—we have the kind of relationship where we’ve bathed together, how can she turn her back on me like this? She was so heartbroken she felt like she was going to spit up her milk.

Before she could, a shadow fell over her. She looked up to see Luo Ke standing beside her with a cold expression.

Lin Sifei’s fur stood on end in an instant, turning her into a complete furball.

Luo Ke frowned and picked her up by the scruff of her neck. Lin Sifei cried out “meow” in pain, her legs kicking frantically.

Startled, Luo Ke quickly placed her back on the sofa.

Lin Sifei whimpered pitifully, panting without moving. Who said getting grabbed by the scruff doesn’t hurt? I almost died from the pain!

Luo Ke crossed her arms and frowned at her. Wu-ma, who was nearby, chuckled. “Miss Luo, have you never held a cat before? She’s small, just let her lie in the crook of your arm.”

Wu-ma gathered the cat and placed her in the crook of Luo Ke’s arm.

As her body was suddenly lifted off the ground, Lin Sifei was so frightened that her claws shot out again, piercing through the fabric and digging into Luo Ke’s arm.

Luo Ke sucked in a sharp breath, her brows tightening.

Even Lin Sifei’s tail was trembling. She seemed to have scratched her gold master4 twice, though she might be getting a new gold master soon anyway.

“You should just bring the cage.” Luo Ke placed Lin Sifei inside the cage and carried it out the door.

Luo Ke’s movements were not gentle. Lin Sifei swayed back and forth inside the cage; if she hadn’t been hooking on with her claws, she would have been knocked black and blue.

“Meow!” Lin Sifei yowled at Luo Ke in anger. Whatever, I’m about to get a new poop-scooping officer5 anyway. No need to suck up to the great villain.

Luo Ke’s steps paused for a moment, and then the cage became steady.

Lin Sifei curled up in the cage, waiting to arrive at Bai Xingrui’s6 place. According to the book, this Bai Xingrui was quite fond of cats and had several of her own. Although she was later driven to bankruptcy by the female lead, she eventually took her cats and moved to a small town to open a shop.

Luo Ke carried the cage upstairs and rang the doorbell.

Bai Xingrui appeared, rubbing her hair. The moment she saw her, she immediately tried to shut the door, but Luo Ke blocked it with her arm and forced it open.

Luo Ke placed the cage directly on the table. Bai Xingrui pretended not to see it, pouring her a glass of water with an embarrassed laugh. “Why did you come looking for me so early?”

“I’ve delivered the cat. Goodbye.” Luo Ke turned to leave.

“Hey, wait!” Bai Xingrui stopped her. “Wait for me a second, I’m just going to throw out the trash. Can you open the door for me when I get back?”

“Can’t you take your keys?”

“Aiya, I don’t have any pockets, and I don’t want the trash and my keys to touch. It’ll just be a moment, please help me out.”

Luo Ke sat down on the sofa in resignation and took out her phone to look through some files. “Hurry up, I have to get to the company.”

“Right away, right away.”

Lin Sifei crouched in the cage, watching her new owner run out like the wind.

A short while later, the phone in Luo Ke’s hand vibrated. She tapped the pop-up notification; it was a voice message from Bai Xingrui.

The moment she played it, her wild laughter burst out. “Hahaha! Sorry, Luo Ke, I’ve spontaneously decided to go on a trip around the world, so I can’t take the cat! Sorry~”

Luo Ke listened to the voice message with a cold face and immediately dialed her number. “If you’re not coming back, what about all those cats you own?”

“Sorry, they’re at my parents’ place. I sent them over a long time ago. I told you, I’m going on a trip around the world.”

Luo Ke pressed her lips together. No wonder she hadn’t heard any meowing. “You don’t want this cat? Believe it or not, I’ll leave this cat here to starve to death right now.”

“Go ahead and leave it then. It’s not my cat, anyway.”

From the cage not far away, Lin Sifei heard her indifferent tone and her eyes shot wide open. Isn’t this person supposed to be a cat lover? Why is she so heartless?!

“Gotta go, gotta go, my flight is about to take off. As for the cat, you can just deal with it yourself.”

Luo Ke stared at the disconnected call on her phone and took a deep breath. She turned her head to look at Lin Sifei in the cage.

Lin Sifei’s fine hairs stood erect7. She immediately brought her paws together, tilted her head slightly, and put on an adorable kitty smile, trying her best to please the poop-scooping officer.

After they stared at each other for a long time, Luo Ke stood up and walked out the door.

No way, is she really leaving me here to starve?!

Lin Sifei immediately threw herself at the cage door, crying out, “Meow, meow, meow.” Don’t leave me! I really don’t want to die.

Watching the security door slowly close, Lin Sifei let out a piercing cry. She looked at the lock on the cage and stretched out a paw, trying desperately to pick it. The lock gave way, and ignoring the height of the table, she hurriedly jumped down.

She fell to the floor, rolled over, and quickly scrambled back up, rushing toward the security door.

With a “thump,” Lin Sifei felt like her neck was about to break.

Lying on the ground, Lin Sifei saw Luo Ke, who had pulled the door open and was now standing in the doorway. Pain, grievance, and fear surged through her all at once. Her eyes instantly turned red, and tears streamed down her face.

Luo Ke sighed, squatted down, and picked her up. She took out a handkerchief and gently dabbed at the corners of her eyes.

Lin Sifei’s body was still trembling. After experiencing that moment of abandonment, she finally understood that she had to be extremely careful; a single human decision could make her lose her life to the Yellow Springs.8

She sniffled, holding back her tears, and struck a cute pose9 for Luo Ke. She had wanted to nuzzle against her, but then she remembered Luo Ke didn’t like it and stopped herself.

Luo Ke carried her to the table, looked at the opened cage door, fiddled with it for a moment, and closed it again. Just like that, she went downstairs carrying the empty cage in one hand and the cat in the other.

Back in the car, Luo Ke glanced at her watch. It was too late to take the cat home, so she had no choice but to drive straight to the company.

At the airport, Bai Xingrui watched the live security feed on her phone. Seeing Luo Ke take the cat away, she breathed a sigh of relief and tapped the figure on the screen. “Her mouth is, but her heart is not10. She’s obviously a total softie.”

An airport announcement sounded. She smiled, put away her phone, and walked inside, pulling her suitcase behind her.

Lin Sifei wasn’t put back in the cage; instead, she sat on the front passenger seat. Luo Ke was an excellent driver, and the ride was very smooth the entire way.

After a while, Lin Sifei got bored and started pawing at the window to look outside. The world outside didn’t look any different from her original one, except that the billboards featured unfamiliar celebrities.

Lin Sifei looked at the billboards, then down at her own cat paws. Was she going to be a cat for the rest of her life? She actually quite loved acting. Her agent must be so upset that something happened to her, and her fans must be heartbroken.

She sighed and curled up on the seat again. Right now, she was just a pet living under another’s fence11, dependent on their whims.

Just as she was grieving for spring and sorrowing for autumn12, Luo Ke had already stopped the car.

She picked up Lin Sifei and walked into the elevator. The employees inside saw her and all smiled and nodded. “President Luo.”

Luo Ke gave a slight nod, pressed the button for her floor, and raised her hand to look at her watch.

Lin Sifei lay in the crook of her arm, her head restlessly turning this way and that. She noticed that a large, empty circle had formed around Luo Ke. Everyone wore an awkward and helpless expression, a sense of grief so profound they looked like they wanted to jump out of the elevator.

Lin Sfei sighed again. This must be the villain’s intimidating aura.

She pawed at Luo Ke’s arm and looked up at her cold, stern, and expressionless face, sighing once more. With an arrogant expression like that, it’s way too easy to offend people.

She scrunched up her face, and suddenly, her vision went black. A hand had covered her eyes, pressing her head back into the hollow of Luo Ke’s shoulder.

Lin Sifei gently tapped her foot on Luo Ke’s arm and then obediently stopped moving.

The elevator arrived, and Lin Sifei felt the rise and fall of Luo Ke’s movements as she walked. Something seemed to be digging into her back. Uncomfortable, Lin Sifei shifted her bottom and pushed at it with her paw.

The pad of her paw felt a rough, patterned texture. She froze, suddenly realizing what she had been rubbing against. She snatched her paw back, her face turning bright red.

Lin Sifei covered her face with her paws, but then she remembered the place she had just touched and quickly moved them away again. Her entire cat body began to radiate heat.

Luo Ke’s office was on the right side of the hallway. Outside the door was a long desk for her secretary.

When Xiao Zhao13 saw her approaching, she stood up and handed her a form. “President Luo, Chen Corporation called just now. Their president has something to attend to, so the morning meeting needs to be postponed. Also, the schedules for these individuals have been adjusted…”

Luo Ke nodded and gave the secretary a few instructions. “In that case, move the department meeting to this morning. Especially the upcoming business deal—have that department head give a detailed report on it.”

“Yes, President Luo.”

Luo Ke took the documents into her office, placed Lin Sifei on the carpet, and sat down at her desk to handle her work.

Lin Sifei wandered around the office for a bit, but finding herself utterly bored, she yawned and curled up beside the sofa to sleep.

She woke up to find it was already noon. Lin Sifei rubbed her eyes and saw the office was empty. Worried, she paced in a circle and then ran to the door.

Luo Ke’s office had a heavy wooden door, which Lin Sifei couldn’t open on her own.

She stood on her hind legs and started scratching at the door while meowing.

The door suddenly opened outward. Lin Sifei looked up to see the secretary, Xiao Zhao, from before and immediately began meowing at her.

“Oh? You’re awake.” Xiao Zhao bent down and picked her up. “President Luo went to a meeting.”

As she spoke, she placed a small, sliced piece of apple in a little bowl for her. Lin Sifei smacked her lips and sat obediently on the secretary’s desk, eating the apple.

Seeing how well-behaved she was, Xiao Zhao felt at ease and began to handle her work.

“Ring, ring—” Xiao Zhao answered the phone. It was the conference room; they needed two more copies of some documents.

Xiao Zhao: “Alright, I’ll print them and bring them over.”

After organizing the printouts, Xiao Zhao picked up the folder and looked at the cat sitting all alone on the desk. “Oh, dear,” she said, “President Luo told me to take care of you. I can’t just leave you here by yourself.”

She looked around, but the other secretaries were all busy. With a sigh, she picked up the cat and headed for the conference room, holding the folder in her other hand.

As she passed the elevators, a door opened, and a woman with a high ponytail walked out. Her eyes lit up when she saw Xiao Zhao.

“Secretary Zhao, hello.”

Xiao Zhao gave a slight nod and continued walking.

The woman with the high ponytail quickened her pace to catch up, glancing at the cat in her arms. “Is Secretary Zhao going to the conference room too? We’re heading the same way. Here, let me help you with the folder.”

She reached out her hand, but Xiao Zhao dodged to the side. “These documents are for President Luo. It wouldn’t be appropriate for you to hold them.”

The high-ponytail woman’s smile froze for a moment. She scratched her head. “You’re right, I wasn’t thinking. Let me hold the cat for you then.”

“That’s not necessary; you’re holding documents as well. The cat isn’t heavy. We just need to walk a bit faster.”

Lin Sifei looked up, seeing Xiao Zhao’s polite but distant smile, and then looked curiously at the woman with the high ponytail. Does this Secretary Zhao not like this person?

She soon found out. After handing over the documents, Xiao Zhao rolled her eyes at the back of the high-ponytail woman who had just entered.

A man happened to see this and shot her a meaningful look.

Xiao Zhao scoffed and turned to leave. The man quickly caught up to her. “Zhao Min14, try not to be so obvious with your personal feelings at the company.”

“I just don’t like her. If she didn’t have someone on the board of directors protecting her, how could she have gotten into this company? She walked through the back door15.” She snorted coldly, stroking Lin Sifei’s head.

“You know Yan Yafei16 has backing17, yet you still offend her. Are you just looking for trouble for yourself?” the man sighed. “Alright, alright. If this deal goes smoothly, President Luo will definitely give everyone a red envelope18. Happier now?”

“Special Assistant Lin, really? Is this deal that important?”

“Of course. Didn’t you see President Luo handling it personally?”

The two of them huddled together, cheerfully discussing the size of their red envelopes, while Lin Sifei was completely petrified.

That woman with the high ponytail just now was the female lead???
