After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 16

Apology

Let’s go swimming.

Luo Ke poked the head of the cat in her arms. Lin Sifei’s tongue was hanging out, her head lolling back as if she had fainted.

She couldn’t help but chuckle, nudging her head with a hand. “Shy?”

Lin Sifei still didn’t react.

Luo Ke’s brow twitched. She leaned closer to her. “While you’re fainted, I’ll steal another kiss.”

The words had barely fallen when Lin Sifei’s head shot up in a second, and she twisted around to bury her face in Luo Ke’s chest.

“Hahahaha.” Luo Ke tilted her head back and laughed heartily. Teasing this cat was just too much fun; she was a cat who only knew how to be shy.

Lin Sifei shot her a glare of embarrassed annoyance, then turned back and saw the wound on her wrist, letting out a soft “Meow~.”

Luo Ke lifted her hand, glanced at the injury, and placed her on the sofa. “Stay here obediently. I’ll go get Zhao Min to come clean this up.”

Lin Sifei padded across the soft sofa cushions, her ears twitching as she watched Zhao Min find a cleaning lady.

“President Luo, let’s move to the conference room for now. This area is full of glass shards, and it will take some time to clean it thoroughly.”

Luo Ke glanced at her watch and scooped up the cat. “To the conference room it is, then. Have Yan Yafei come over in a bit.”

Yan Yafei entered the conference room apprehensively. Luo Ke was teasing the cat with her hand. Seeing her enter, she gave a slight nod. “Sit.”

Yan Yafei smoothed her skirt and sat down on the chair, head lowered. Luo Shengping had said he would help her, but he never messaged back. She had no idea if he had managed to talk things through.

“Apologize.”

“Huh?” Her mind was still on the matter with Luo Shengping. Hearing Luo Ke speak so suddenly, she froze for a moment, her head snapping up reflexively to look at her.

Luo Ke scratched Lin Sifei’s head. “Apologize for what you did yesterday.”

“I… what did I do yesterday?” Yan Yafei’s eyes darted around as she forced an awkward smile.

“The security cameras recorded everything.”

Hearing this, Yan Yafei’s heart settled. There were so many people around at the time; it was impossible for the camera to have captured her actions. “I didn’t do anything.”

Luo Ke raised her right hand, resting the back of it against her chin. “I told you to apologize.”

Yan Yafei bit her lower lip. “Is President Luo threatening me with my job right now?”

“Apologize.”

Yan Yafei took a deep breath, her lips pressing into a thin line as a ring of red formed around her eyes. “I’m sorry.”

Lin Sifei squinted, flopped onto the table, and turned over to point her butt at her.

Luo Ke picked up a folder from the desk, opened it, and pushed it toward her. “Sign it.”

Yan Yafei took the file. Seeing the termination notice inside, she looked up in shock. “President Luo, I already apologized.”

“The apology is what you owed. The termination is what you deserve.”

“You can’t be so unreasonable.” Yan Yafei bit her lip and took a deep breath. “I will apply for labor arbitration1. You have no grounds to fire me!”

“Making mistakes for several times and three repetitions, nearly causing huge losses for the company, failing to work diligently and instead damaging company property, and lacking the ability to suit the position. All of that, and more, is enough.”

Yan Yafei’s eyes widened. “You clearly said you wouldn’t pursue it and would let me be an intern for a week…”

“That was before.” Luo Ke crossed her arms. “The real reason you’re being fired is that you tried to harm my cat. But for the sake of procedure, I don’t mind adding a few more reasons to the list.”

“I won’t resign. You’re clearly mixing public and private affairs.” Yan Yafei threw the folder down, stood up, and glared at her.

Luo Ke also rose slowly to her feet, her body leaning forward slightly as she lowered her voice. “That’s right. So while I’m still being polite, why don’t you walk out that door yourself with some dignity.”

Sensing the powerful aura coming from her, Lin Sifei also stood up, bared her teeth at Yan Yafei, and let out a low rumbling sound from her throat.

Yan Yafei took a step back, then stormed out and slammed the door.

Luo Ke sat back down and pulled the cat onto her lap to knead. “Secretary Zhao, take this file to the Human Resources Department.”

Zhao Min nodded, took the folder, and scurried out the door.

Lin Sifei happily wriggled around on Luo Ke’s lap. Excellent, the female lead has finally been fired. Given the Luo family’s power, as long as we guard against that group of father-pitting2 relatives of Luo Ke’s, this round is in the bag.

She lifted a paw and pressed it on the adhesive bandage on Luo Ke’s wrist. This bunch from the Luo family doesn’t care about her at all. Only an idiot like Luo Ke would still foolishly treat that group as family.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore.” Luo Ke smiled and stroked the bandage, then reached out to pinch her cheek. “Our Little Xiao is so amazing, you even know how to protect me now, huh?”

She lowered her head, and the stray hairs of her bangs brushed against Lin Sifei’s nose.

An image of their kiss flashed through Lin Sifei’s mind. She jerked away with a start, burying her face in Luo Ke’s lap.

“Shy again, are we?” Luo Ke laughed, deliberately burying her face in the cat’s back and nuzzling her.

Lin Sifei’s whole body felt like an electric current had passed through it, a tingling numbness spreading all over. She frantically pawed with her claws, trying to escape. “Mrow~ Mrow~”

Aaaah! What has gotten into this woman lately!

She struggled for a long while until she collapsed from exhaustion, letting Luo Ke knead and rub her as she pleased.

Luo Ke was just teasing her on purpose. Seeing her too tired to move, she finally let her go.

“Let’s leave early today. I’ll take you swimming. Want to go?”

Lin Sifei turned her head back just in time to see Luo Ke lift a hand and tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. A ray of sunlight shone through the curtains behind her, draping her in a hazy, gauze-like veil.

Lin Sifei’s mouth fell slightly open as she automatically pictured Luo Ke in a bikini, holding her while swimming. Given Luo Ke’s figure…

She covered her nose3. This… seemed a little too exciting.

Luo Ke watched her dazed expression and narrowed her eyes slightly. “Do you want to go?”

“Meow~” she meowed softly, her cheeks burning. She lowered her head shyly, not daring to look at her.

As she looked down, she saw the wound on Luo Ke’s wrist again. She reached out and pressed beside the injury, letting out a cry. She couldn’t go swimming with a fresh wound, right?

Luo Ke had only just noticed it herself. Her brow furrowed as she let out a “Tsk.” “Looks like I can’t slack off today after all.”

Seeing her disappointment, Lin Sifei rubbed against her hand. It’s okay, this wound will only take a few days to heal.

For the next few days, with Yan Yafei gone, Lin Sifei spent all her time in Luo Ke’s office browsing the web and taking long naps, only occasionally checking on the wound on Luo Ke’s wrist.

After two days, the wound had healed, and the scab wasn’t thick.

Lin Sifei’s mind grew active again, and she couldn’t resist searching for swimsuits on her tablet. She had rummaged through Luo Ke’s entire wardrobe yesterday and was certain she didn’t own one.

She looked at the dazzling array of swimsuits on the screen and couldn’t help but smile.

I’m so excited.

Just as she was smiling, Luo Ke reached out and gave her a flick on the forehead. “What are you so happy about? You got cat hair all over my clothes yesterday, and you’re still smiling.”

Lin Sifei covered her head and glanced at her. For some reason, her cheeks flushed slightly, and she lowered her head again.
