After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 13

More Affectionate to the Fish Than to Me

Chocolate???!!!

With the cast off, Luo Ke felt much more at ease about Lin Sifei. The victory banquet she had promised long ago was finally being arranged, and the corners of Zhao Min’s mouth were curving wildly upward in delight.

Luo Ke capped her pen. “Why are you so happy?”

“I-I’m not.”

“You have three seconds.”

Zhao Min snapped straight in one second, inhaled in the next, and spent the last second delivering a rapid-fire report, “Because the president entrusted the venue arrangements for the victory banquet to me I can choose a very excellent hotel this hotel’s steak and after-dinner desserts I really like but rest assured although it’s my personal preference the hotel is truly fantastic! Hah—”

She finished in a single breath, then tilted her head back to gasp for air and readjusted her smile. “That’s the situation, President Luo.”

“What about security and the hotel’s condition? Is there a place for people to stay overnight?” Luo Ke watched her. Zhao Min’s mouth hung open, but she said nothing.

Luo Ke sighed and pressed the call button on her desk. “Special Assistant Lin, come in for a moment.”

Special Assistant Lin quickly opened the door and came in. Seeing Zhao Min standing ramrod straight, she couldn’t help but straighten up herself. “President Luo, are there any instructions?”

“You and Secretary Zhao will be jointly responsible for the victory banquet venue this time. Be sure to pay attention to issues like security and lodging.”

“Understood.” Special Assistant Lin nodded, then remembered something else. “About the victory banquet, the company staff was hoping to have some games and activities, like at the annual gala.”

“They just want prizes, don’t they?” Luo Ke shook her head with a helpless smile. “No problem, but don’t let the activities get too out of hand.”

“Yes, President Luo.”

Special Assistant Lin tugged on Zhao Min’s sleeve and pulled her away. “I told you to be more serious about your work.”

Watching the two of them muttering to each other, Lin Sifei turned and hopped onto Luo Ke’s desk, opening her mouth wide with an “Ah.” What about her? There would be a lot of things at the restaurant she couldn’t eat, right?

Luo Ke popped a small piece of meat jerky into her mouth. “Don’t worry, you won’t be left out.”

The victory banquet was in the evening. Special Assistant Lin had booked the first and second floors of a restaurant, which was right next to a hotel, so there was no need to worry about anyone getting drunk.

Luo Ke knew she was a terrifying presence among her employees and was worried they wouldn’t be able to relax, so she only appeared at the beginning to say a few words. Afterward, she went to a table on the second floor and focused on feeding her cat.

Lin Sifei had a small napkin tied around her neck. Her hind legs were planted on Luo Ke’s lap and her front paws were on the table. Whenever she wanted to eat something, she would just bat at the plate with her paw.

As they were eating, a chef in a hat walked up. “Ladies, your table ordered the sashimi. Should I serve it now?”

Sashimi! Lin Sifei’s eyes instantly lit up. She had always been fond of fish, and that fondness had skyrocketed after she became a cat. She pressed Luo Ke’s hand and let out a soft meow.

Luo Ke stroked her head. “You little glutton. You’re so affectionate when you see fish, but I never see you act that way with me.”

Lin Sifei licked the corner of her mouth and immediately nuzzled obediently against her arm and palm. Luo Ke couldn’t help but let her lips curve into a smile as she reached out to touch the whiskers by her mouth.

Lin Sifei shivered, and her paws slipped. She shook her head and meowed. Don’t touch my whiskers, it feels weird.

She lay back down on the table, looking at the fish with anticipation, then turned her head and meowed at Luo Ke again.

Luo Ke sighed helplessly, resigned to this cat’s fundamental nature of recognizing fish but not people. But what could she do? The cat was her own, so she had to keep raising it, even if it made her want to cry.

The chef sliced the fish upstairs, and Luo Ke used her chopsticks to place it in the small bowl in front of her—Lin Sifei’s dedicated cat bowl. She had specifically put it in her bag and brought it with her today, because someone had told her that cats might lose their appetite if they don’t use their own bowls.

Watching the cat bury her head in her food and eat with gusto, Luo Ke’s mood brightened. She curled her finger and made a little dent in the fur on her head.

Lin Sifei looked up strangely, a tiny piece of fish still on the corner of her mouth. She smacked her lips, looked at Luo Ke, and meowed.

“You want more? You haven’t even finished what’s in your bowl.” Luo Ke tapped the rim of her bowl, like a mother urging her child not to waste food.

A #1 popped on Lin Sifei’s forehead. But considering how thoughtfully Luo Ke had prepared her food, she held back her temper. She raised a paw and nudged the bowl next to hers—Luo Ke’s bowl.

Luo Ke raised an eyebrow at her. “Are you telling me to eat?”

“Meow~” Lin Sifei almost nodded, but she managed to stop herself at the last second and just cried out instead.

Luo Ke chuckled and picked up her chopsticks for a bite. “It really is pretty good.”

Lin Sifei smiled and meowed again before burying her head to continue eating.

Her belly was bulging, and she felt a little stuffed. She kicked Luo Ke with her leg, let out a cry, and jumped down from her lap to take a walk around the table.

She hopped onto a small table in front of the window and gazed at the cars like a river and horses like a dragon2 below. A wave of artistic melancholy washed over her, and she pressed her face against the glass, lost in thought.

Luo Ke was already used to her periodic fits of artistry and continued eating her meal.

“President Luo, the prize drawing is about to start downstairs. Would you mind coming down to draw a winning number?” Special Assistant Lin pushed the door open.

Luo Ke nodded, wiped her mouth, and reapplied her lipstick. “Xiaoxiao, come here.”

Lin Sifei hadn’t yet emerged from her artistic melancholy and walked slowly to her side.

Luo Ke reached out to pick her up, but Lin Sifei dodged to the side. I ate too much, being held is uncomfortable.

She rubbed against Luo Ke’s leg and started walking slowly forward.

Luo Ke guessed what she meant—she was full and walking it off. She shook her head with a helpless smile and followed her out.

The host was standing on the stage. Seeing Special Assistant Lin wave from below, he immediately spoke. “Next, let’s have our President Luo come up to draw a number for everyone! This time, the prizes are also personally provided by President Luo, so I’m sure everyone is very excited.”

The crowd cheered enthusiastically. They were usually timid, but now, lost in the crowd, every one of them had become bold.

Luo Ke didn’t want to be a wet blanket. She walked onto the stage and began drawing numbers and announcing the prizes.

It was anyone’s guess who came up with the prize list. Besides the usual cash and free trips, there were also things like a three-day no-overtime pass, extra-meat-in-the-cafeteria privileges, and so on. The atmosphere grew more and more heated. Lin Sifei, squatting on the floor, couldn’t help but laugh along.

“Next up is number 5! Who is number 5?”

“Me, me, me!” Special Assistant Lin raised her hand and happily bounded onto the stage in a single step, nearly slipping and falling, which made the whole hall roar with laughter3. Fortunately, Special Assistant Lin had a down-to-earth reputation in the company, so everyone let her off with a chuckle.

Lin Sifei was watching so intently that she forgot that with Special Assistant Lin gone, she was now one lonely cat.

Someone quietly approached. Lin Sifei’s nose twitched. She caught a whiff of a fragrant aroma that seemed to be shredded squid4.

Her stomach was stuffed, but her mouth began to water uncontrollably. I want some. I’ll have Luo Ke buy a few bags to take home later. It smells so good.

Plop. Just as she was thinking this, a piece of shredded squid fell in front of her.

She couldn’t help but look around. Everyone was looking up at the stage, excitedly clutching their number cards. There was a dining table right next to her, but it was too high to see what was on it.

It probably just fell off by accident. She smacked her lips and continued to watch the stage.

Plop. This time, it landed right on her head and rolled down her face.

Lin Sifei fell silent. This was clearly an attempt to feed her. Could it be that since Luo Ke usually forbade anyone from feeding her, someone couldn’t resist any longer and was taking advantage of the crowd to make their move?

She looked up again but still couldn’t see who it was.

Who could feed a cat and resist the urge to pet it? Their self-control is amazing.

Looking at the shredded squid on the floor, Lin Sifei reluctantly shifted her noble bottom. Although she didn’t eat things off the ground, she didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. It might be a cute girl, for all she knew. She could just pretend, hide the squid, and be done with it.

She moved closer to the shredded squid, pinned it with her paw to block it from view, and then put on a show of lowering her head.

As she nudged it around, the shredded squid loosened and slid to the side, revealing something black inside. Lin Sifei tilted her head in confusion. She stealthily extended the tip of a claw and hooked it a couple of times.

The shredded squid peeled away completely, exposing the thing inside.

Lin Sifei leaned in for a sniff and her eyes shot wide open.

This was… chocolate!
