After Agreeing to Go on a Parenting Show With My Omega Ex-Girlfriend – Chapter 9

She’s Just Selling Her Acting, Not Her Body, Okay?

Seeing the two families seated as three pairs—two sweet adult couples and one pair of clueless children—it was clearly a parent-child variety show, yet it was staging a scene of parent-child separation. The program staff couldn’t help but exchange a glance.

This whole vibe was a little strange.

Fortunately, Taotao was still little and quite clingy. After playing with Youyou-jiejie for a while, she trotted over to the other end of the sofa, calling out, 「Mommy, Mama.」

This conveniently rescued her two mothers from the subtle atmosphere.

Qi Song reached out, lifted the little cub up, and sat her on her lap, facing away.

Taotao hummed happily while sitting on her mama’s lap, not noticing her Mommy giving her Mama a meaningful look.

Qi Song, who received the look: “…”

She knew what Yu Luo meant.

Just now, Ren Zhi had wanted to have Jiang Yin sit on her lap, but now, she was the one holding their little cub on her lap. With this comparison, a gap had appeared in their sweetness—in other words, she had lost.

The worst thing is a sponsor with a competitive streak.

Qi Song opened her left arm towards her and said gently, “We still have a while before boarding. Wifey, why don’t you lean on me and get some sleep? You might feel better when you wake up.”

Hurry up and ‘sleep’, then she won’t be secretly competing with the other families on who’s sweeter.

Yu Luo saw through her thoughts, but followed the good advice as readily as water flows downstream1, letting out a low “en” and leaning her head over as if boneless.

A warm weight settled on her left shoulder, stirring up a tantalizing, faint fragrance.

The Omega’s soft hair brushed against the skin of her ear, making it itch a little.

Qi Song put her arm around her, uncomfortably adjusting her posture slightly, but the woman leaning on her took the opportunity to press even closer, resting her head in the crook of her neck…

Qi Song was starting to regret this.

She suspected that proactively suggesting Yu Luo go to sleep wasn’t a smart way to handle things at all; in fact, it was more like she’d fallen right into a pit Yu Luo had dug in advance.

“Mommy, are you not feeling well?” Taotao asked worriedly, looking at Yu Luo’s face and reaching out to give her a little pat.

Yu Luo nuzzled her small hand. “Just a little sleepy. I’ll be fine after a little rest.”

After speaking, she closed her eyes, her features relaxing.

In the air was the faint scent of the pheromones naturally carried by the Alpha, like gardenias after the rain. For now, it was a scent that was still unfamiliar to her, but because it belonged to this person, it was a scent that would soon sink deep into her bones and marrow2.

The concentration of pheromones people normally carried was extremely low, maintained at around 3%. Generally, only when the concentration reached 10% would it affect other Alphas or Omegas.

Yet, the scent made the back of Yu Luo’s neck grow faintly hot, and she had even taken suppressants just last night.

Without her realizing, her breathing began to quicken slightly, and her hand tightened on the hem of her clothes.

She didn’t know if it was the pheromones going to her head, or if she felt a certain longing for this posture she hadn’t been in for so long. In any case, her mind grew increasingly muddled, and by the time she realized what was happening, she had already irresistibly taken a bite of the tip of Qi Song’s ear.

A secretive, wet bite.

She let go the very next second.

Facing the camera, Qi Song’s entire body suddenly went rigid.

She couldn’t make a scene, but the hand resting on Yu Luo’s shoulder tightened in a silent warning.

Judging by the camera angle, the ear-biting just now probably wasn’t captured—which meant this was content outside of their agreement.

Qi Song’s expression remained impassive, but her other hand picked up her phone and she began typing with one hand.

She’s just selling her acting, not her body, okay?

But then her phone vibrated; a message had arrived faster than she could send one.

Yu Luo: 【Sorry. By the time I realized what I was doing, it had already happened. I’ll be more careful next time.】

Qi Song read it and sneered inwardly, deleting the words she had just typed and writing back:

【You know damn well what you were doing.】

Yu Luo: 【Know what? That my feelings were difficult to control on my own?】

Qi Song: ……

A player is a player, after all, she thought. One second she’s acting meek and apologizing, the next she’s starting with the flirtatious talk again.

She was just about to set Yu Luo straight when another new message came in: 【But, I’ve been meaning to say, it’s only been two years. How did you revert to your pre-liberation days?】3

Qi Song’s heart skipped a beat.

Only after seeing that sentence did she belatedly realize that the roots of her ears were burning hot, there was a stir at the back of her neck, and the pheromone concentration in the immediate vicinity of her body had already almost reached 8%.

Right. The original owner and Yu Luo had dated for three years; she should be very experienced. But now, occupying this body, her reaction was so innocent she seemed to have no experience whatsoever, getting so worked up over a brief bite on the ear.

She looked again at the reply she’d been about to send to Yu Luo. It was just like the protest of an untouched maiden4 after being trifled with by a player. Although it was a bit fierce, it couldn’t hide the kind of purity that belonged to a white paper5.

Yu Luo would probably just find it a bit exciting.

Qi Song gritted her teeth and typed a new reply: 【If you delete all the unimportant experiences, wouldn’t that take you right back to pre-liberation?】

After she sent that message, Yu Luo, whose tongue had been so clever and sharp6 just a moment ago, immediately went quiet. She didn’t reply, and remained completely still, leaning against her.

Qi Song had a faint feeling she had found Yu Luo’s seven inches7.

If Yu Luo was after the original owner’s feelings, she didn’t have any to give. If Yu Luo was just flirting out of habit, then her heart was even more like a giant, unmoving stone8.

In that sense, perhaps she was the one standing on high ground, the one who had the other in her grasp.

In a place Qi Song couldn’t see, Yu Luo bit her lower lip hard.

It was exactly six in the evening when they arrived at a small village on the outskirts of Wuzhen. The village chief was hosting a banquet in his residence for the arriving guests.

The other two families had arrived a few minutes earlier and were waiting in the dining room.

After going inside, Qi Song saw the legendary A-list starlet who was said to have “become noble through her daughter” by marrying into a rich woman’s family, along with her rich woman. Unsurprisingly, she discovered another pair of love-brains.

She shifted her body to block Yu Luo’s line of sight, lest Yu Luo see that couple sweetly feeding each other, get her competitive spirit fired up, and make her do something even more cloying.

“Scared already?” Yu Luo, who had a clear view of her little maneuver, lightly raised an eyebrow.

Qi Song turned to look back at her, putting on an act of complete confusion. “What?”

Yu Luo chose to ignore her performance and politely greeted the other families.

When it came to the last family, the newly crowned Best Actor, an Alpha named Li Zhen9, took the initiative to greet them. Yu Luo’s responding voice suddenly became very noticeably cold.

She didn’t even try to hide it in front of the cameras.

Qi Song was a little curious. Although she didn’t know the situation yet, she and Yu Luo were 「wife and wife,」 so of course she had to firmly stand on her wife’s side. Thus, when she greeted Li Zhen, she also acted completely indifferent.

As expected of a newly crowned Best Actor. Despite being given the cold shoulder by two people in a row, the smile on his face remained perfectly at ease, as if he hadn’t noticed a thing.

A staff member from the program team said, “All our guests have arrived. Please enjoy your dinner. After the meal, the families will compete in a game for tonight’s residences. The 「mansion」 you’re currently dining in is one of the options, you know~”

Yu Luo gave the cub sitting on Qi Song’s lap a little pat and asked casually, “Does Taotao want to live here?”

Taotao said, “Mmm, I want to live in the house with the grass!”

Yu Luo’s movements froze. The one with grass… wasn’t that the most dilapidated and bug-infested house?

Taotao gave Yu Luo’s sleeve a little tug and tilted her head. “Can we, Mommy?”

Yu Luo smiled gently at her. “Sweetie, Mommy and Mama will try our best, but winning or losing is up to fate, you know.”

That sounded a bit familiar to Qi Song, and she suddenly remembered—those were the words she had prepared to brush Yu Luo off with back when Yu Luo had said she didn’t want to live in the dilapidated house.

The next second, she felt a tug on the corner of her clothes. It was Yu Luo, secretly reminding her: You’re not allowed to lose. Otherwise, you’ll have to bear the consequences.

Qi Song straightened her lapels and sat bolt upright10, serving them food while having no choice but to echo, “That’s right. Winning and losing are both normal in games. Mommy and Mama can’t make any guarantees either.”

Taotao let out an “oh,” didn’t seem to mind too much, and quietly ate her food.

So well-behaved, Qi Song thought. Even though Yu Luo is a player herself, she’s raised her child very well.

After finishing their meal and taking a short break, it was time for the game segment.

The program team up front hadn’t even started announcing the rules when Li Zhen’s son, Li Ge11, suddenly started wailing, seeming to say something like 「I have to live in the village chief’s house!」

Li Zhen stood silently to one side, not getting involved, while his Omega tried to coax their son. This only made Li Ge’s crying grow louder, forcing the program staff to come over and help mediate, and the scene descended into chaos.

Qi Song remembered her still-unanswered curiosity from before. Taking advantage of the chaos up front, she turned off her mic and leaned close to Yu Luo’s ear to ask tentatively, “When we were greeting everyone earlier, your reaction to Li Zhen……”

“You forgot?” Yu Luo gazed toward the commotion, the outdoor lighting striking her delicate profile and outlining a stunningly beautiful silhouette. “He wronged you.”

Her tone was surprisingly aggrieved, practically screaming that she was holding a grudge.

Qi Song was slightly stunned. She had originally thought that Yu Luo had some past conflict with Li Zhen, which was why she was willing to show her displeasure so openly in front of the camera.

But it turned out to be for her sake.

For a moment, her heart inexplicably caved in a little. She realized this was probably one of the tricks the player had used to make the original owner fall for her:

Showing you blatant favoritism—even though, in reality, she showed favoritism to many people.

  1. I have red the authors other novel (colleagues are all animals) and it seems like even in an ABO-setting the author can’t stay away from a plain man hating attitude.
The wife-wife couples and their daughters are all sweet, while the only two mentioned male characters (father and son) are already set up as douchbags.
At least in this novel there probably won’t be beastiality, but if my premonition turns out true in the next chapters, this novel and author will land in the modern day Hollywood trash folder and never be picked up again.
