It’s okay, Jiejie will teach you.
The half-month-long military training for new students was about to end, and tonight was the social mixer.
Everyone sat in a circle on the lawn of the sports field, with bright lights shining down on the center.
Enthusiastic and energetic dance performances sparked cheers and applause from all around, and the late summer evening breeze that swept by was filled with youthful vitality.
But Li Dan1 always felt that Qi Song didn’t belong in this lively scene.
On the first day of military training, she had been stunned by this girl at first sight. She was tall with long legs, fair-skinned and beautiful, and her bright eyes naturally held the warmth of the morning sun.
But contradicting this warmth, Qi Song herself always seemed somewhat distant. Although polite and friendly, she had a strong sense of boundaries, gracefully declining most enthusiastic gestures and preferring to be alone. It created a kind of sociable isolation.
Many people privately called her the “cold beauty.”
But perhaps due to an involuntary curiosity and attention, Li Dan gradually discovered that Qi Song wasn’t always as calm and indifferent as she appeared on the surface.
For instance, she seemed to be a fan of a celebrity2.
The last time training was dismissed, everyone was chatting about Yu Luo’s latest movie. Qi Song, who had always left quickly by herself, accepted their dinner invitation for the first time and discussed the movie with them.
Whenever “Yu Luo” was mentioned, the warmth in her eyes always seemed to shine exceptionally bright.
Another example was tonight’s social mixer.
Qi Song hadn’t paid any attention to the performances in the center of the field. She was staring downward, lost in thought, the corners of her lips curved into a slight upward arc. Then, she pressed her lips together, and a touch of rich crimson appeared on her fair, jade-like face.
As if she were feeling shy about a certain memory.
The dance performance ended, and the clamorous applause startled Qi Song back to reality.
She raised a hand to cover her face, her fingertips touching a scorching heat. A helpless yet honey-sweet feeling welled up in her heart.
Bad woman.
Ever since they confirmed their relationship that night, she had lived a brief, innocent, and sweet life of passionate love.
Yu Luo had work every day, so she would wake up early to prepare a nourishing breakfast, cuddle and hug her until she finished eating, and see her off at the door.
Then, she would curl up at home reading, watching movies, or painting, enduring the long day’s wait, repeatedly experiencing the agony of a puppy waiting for its owner to come home.
Around eight o’clock in the evening, she would get into the car driven by Yu Luo’s driver to pick Yu Luo up from work. When they got home, she always had to hold her and kiss her for a good while before feeling satisfied.
In this overly blissful and comfortable life, Qi Song increasingly found the world to be a lovely place. The only part that wasn’t so lovely was that she had to start school and attend military training.
The night before she left for training, when it was time to say goodnight, she lingered by Yu Luo’s bed, unwilling to leave.
“Can we kiss for two more minutes, please? I won’t be able to see Jiejie for the next half a month…”
Qi Song knew very well that whenever she gazed at Yu Luo with her bright, focused eyes, it always made the other woman’s heart soften.
Sure enough, Yu Luo crooked a finger, beckoning her onto the bed.
Perhaps feeling that a two-minute kiss was too precious, she caressed the woman’s cheek for a long time. She was clearly itching to press against those soft, red lips, yet she held back, reluctant to easily begin those two minutes.
As her lips were being stared at with such ambiguous heat, Yu Luo’s heart began to beat a little faster. Her fingertips gently scratched the young woman’s chin, her tone carrying a hint of inducement.
“The ‘kissing’ you understand, is it just lips pressing together?”
This person every time would only tamely nuzzle and rub against her lips, stopping after just a light taste3.
Qi Song blinked, a hint of bewilderment in her eyes. She had seen more heated ways of kissing, but she never dared to desire Yu Luo in such a manner, subconsciously worried it would make the other person uncomfortable.
Besides, just pressing against Yu Luo’s lips was enough to make her heart race and feel content. She wished she could stay like that until the end of time.
Seeing through everything in the young woman’s eyes, Yu Luo’s lips curved slightly. Her fingertips slid from Qi Song’s warm, smooth chin to gently pinch her soft ear.
A low, pleasant laugh escaped her throat, sounding particularly alluring in the quiet night.
“It’s okay, Jiejie will teach you.”
Those few words made Qi Song’s heart itch as if it were being scratched.
She saw a contradictory charm and bewitchment appear on the woman’s cool and ethereal face, something that could easily make her spirit and soul turn upside down4, leaving her in a daze, not even knowing her own name.
That night, she relearned what “kissing” meant.
It was deeper than just pressing together, more lingering than just caressing. In the scorching dampness, she felt Yu Luo’s breathing, more strained and moving than ever before. As her lips and tongue repeatedly tasted that sweet flavor, she was about to lose control.
She remembered that at the end, Yu Luo’s lips, kissed until they were bright red and moist, parted and closed. Her eyes, shimmering with a watery light, gazed at her languidly as she said in a slightly hoarse voice, “Remember to miss me.”
Truly a bad woman.
Yu Luo clearly knew that even without this, she would still miss her intensely every day and every night. Yet she chose to teach her how to kiss the night before she left, and then repeated the instruction with such a flirtatious air.
Therefore, as Qi Song sat amidst the clamor of the social mixer, the liveliness was reflected in her eyes but failed to penetrate her heart.
That place was filled to the brim, containing only one person’s name, and that person’s expressions of sorrow or joy, shyness or anger.
“Qi Song?”
A voice suddenly sounded beside her, reluctantly pulling Qi Song from her thoughts of Yu Luo.
She focused her eyes and saw an unfamiliar girl.
“Sorry to bother you, I just wanted to ask…” The girl’s eyes were sparkling as she looked at her. “The school’s 100th anniversary is coming up, and I heard that the main cast for the promotional film will be recruited from the entire student body. The official notice will be released next week. I was wondering if you had any thoughts about participating?”
“You’re very beautiful, and you have the aura of an actress,” the girl praised. “Plus, you got into B University with the highest score in your major and were the new student representative at the opening ceremony, so you have a good chance.”
Qi Song paused for a moment, repeating to confirm, “The main cast for the 100th-anniversary promotional film?”
The girl nodded.
A few hundred meters east of B University’s south gate, a black car was parked on the side of the road.
Qi Song opened the door and sat in the back seat. The moment she looked up, her eyes met the woman’s.
Yu Luo didn’t speak, but a soft and serene smile flowed from her eyes.
It easily transformed the aloof cold beauty from school into an enthusiastic puppy, who wagged its tail and snuggled right up.
“Big sister.” Qi Song’s gaze swept over Yu Luo’s face, first confirming that she was in good health. Then, she stared directly at those rosy lips, feeling a desire to relive the kiss she had been savoring in her mind for the past half a month.
How could Yu Luo not see through her?
She placed a hand on top of Qi Song’s head and expertly ruffled her hair twice, whispering into the young woman’s ear, “Tonight.”
Qi Song’s throat moved. She nodded obediently, her heart already stirring in anticipation of the “tonight” to come.
Seeing her like that, Yu Luo couldn’t help but curve her eyes into a smile.
She hardly needed to confirm it; she knew that this person had been longing for her just like this every single day.
And she was bad enough to find nothing but pleasure in it.
As she pondered, Yu Luo recalled what happened after they finished kissing that night.
She had left her room in the middle of the night to get some water and once again encountered the “tripping over a small animal” incident—
Qi Song was squatting outside her door, hugging her knees with her head buried, her ears beet red.
When she tried to pull her up, Qi Song was unwilling. She looked up at her and said pitifully, “But I haven’t finished savoring it yet.”
Yu Luo had been slightly stunned for a moment, then couldn’t help but start laughing, eventually laughing so hard she bent over.
When love is pure and intense enough, it will naturally give birth to countless adorable details.
And now, Yu Luo couldn’t help but smile again at the thought.
The young woman beside her squeezed her hand. “What are you smiling about, Jiejie?”
“And what are your ears red for?” Yu Luo answered with a question.
Their fingers intertwined, and amidst their sweet thoughts, they slowly exchanged some veiled, flirtatious banter, tacitly looking forward to the intimacy of the night.
The black car, low-profile, weaved quickly through the streets, merging into the endless stream of traffic.
Amidst countless small yet grand moments of joy and anticipation, time was strung into a line by happy nodes, interwoven into an entire expanse of tangible happiness.
And within it, people repeatedly grasped the true meaning of loving and being loved, becoming resolute and brave enough to press forward for it without hesitation.
“Student Qi, did you understand this part?”
The tip of Yu Luo’s pen hooked under Qi Song’s chin, lifting the young woman’s face slightly.
Qi Song blinked. “I understood.”
Ever since Yu Luo learned that she intended to enter the entertainment industry and wanted to start by training with B University’s 100th-anniversary promotional film, Yu Luo had naturally started to open a small stove for her5.
She taught her practical acting experience that couldn’t be learned from textbooks, but for Qi Song, who had never experienced it firsthand, it was probably not that easy to understand.
But Qi Song was always a quick learner and could even raise one point and infer three others6.
“Alright, that’s all for today’s lesson. Go get some rest,” Yu Luo said, raising a hand to rub her head.
Qi Song leaned in. She naturally closed her eyes, their lips met, and the two shared a gentle yet deep kiss.
As they calmed down, Qi Song pecked the corner of the woman’s lips with lingering reluctance. “Big sister, would you ever consider becoming an acting teacher in the future?”
She said seriously, “You have a different kind of charm when you’re teaching. I feel like you’d be a great teacher.”
When Yu Luo taught her acting knowledge, her pace was always unhurried. She could easily explain obscure concepts in a concise and clear manner, and always incorporated appropriate examples. Paired with that clear and pleasant voice and her focused, serious gaze, it was like a refreshing spring breeze that made people immerse themselves without realizing it.
“If I wasn’t worried about tiring you out, I would have wanted to lie and say I didn’t understand, just to watch you explain it to me over and over again,” Qi Song confessed honestly.
Yu Luo paused for a moment, then raised an eyebrow slightly. “You look like a perfectly well-behaved student during class, but these are the kinds of thoughts in your head?”
Qi Song’s hand pressed down on the back of hers. She leaned forward, lowered her head, and gently bit her neck. “Mhm… I also want to do this.”
“…” Yu Luo’s breathing hitched. She hooked a hand around the back of her neck, silently indulging her actions.
After a moment of silence, she said with an unsteady breath, “However, I do have plans to become an acting teacher.”
She hadn’t really thought that far ahead before, as she had always calmly assumed she would die young. But ever since she had Qi Song, she had gained a new layer of concern for her own life.
She wanted to take care of her health and accompany her little puppy for a long time. Under Qi Song’s care and supervision, her physical condition improved, and she began to plan for the future.
“I want to shoot many movies I like first. When I’m older and can’t act anymore, I’ll go to a drama academy and become an acting teacher. What about you?”
Qi Song answered quickly, “I’m more or less the same. I want to achieve something in acting when I’m young, and when I’m old, I’ll spend every day with you. I’ll drop you off and pick you up from the drama academy, and in our spare time, we can go fishing, boating, and tend to flowers and plants.”
This was the first time they had talked about plans for the distant future, which gave Qi Song the feeling that a lifetime was right before her eyes.
They would always love each other and strive in their own careers. They wouldn’t have children, but maybe they would have cats and dogs. They would accompany each other until their hair turned white, spending a peaceful and happy life together.
For some reason, just this brief look into the future gave Qi Song the urge to cry from happiness.
She couldn’t help but place a light kiss on the side of Yu Luo’s neck, murmuring as she kissed, “Big sister, we’ll be together forever, right?”
A mist formed in Yu Luo’s eyes. She said, somewhat intermittently between breaths, “…What would make you leave me?”
Their tones were not heavy, because neither believed the other would ever leave. Other than being parted by death, what other kind of separation could there be?
Qi Song’s kisses traveled to her collarbone. “Unless you one day tell me ‘let’s break up, I don’t love you anymore’ without any emotion, otherwise I wouldn’t let you go even as a ghost.”7
As she spoke, her kisses suddenly became a little heavier.
Yu Luo gasped, tilting her head back and pinching her ear. “Be good, be gentler…”
“Just imagining Jiejie treating me like that makes me feel very sad,” Qi Song’s voice lowered, revealing a hint of dejection.
“You said it yourself, it’s just your imagination…” Yu Luo said softly. “How could I possibly treat you like that?”
Qi Song knew that of course Yu Luo wouldn’t.
They both cherished each other immensely, wishing they could give all their tenderness, so how could they bear to do anything that would sadden the other?
She was just playing a little trick, hoping the woman would coax her.
And Yu Luo was well aware of this. She tugged on the corner of the clothes of this person with a mischievous heart and said with feigned annoyance:
“You play so many tricks, but how is it that you only ever do as much as I teach you?”
Qi Song’s movements as she kissed her collarbone paused, and she looked up, somewhat confused.
Seeing her innocent yet passionate eyes, which were fumbling for a path but filled with immense desire, Yu Luo’s lips moved slightly.
A helpless sense of pleasure and tenderness grew in her heart.
Her palm rested on the back of Qi Song’s head, pressing it down toward herself. Her clear voice was as light as a sigh:
“Silly girl, kiss lower.”
