After Agreeing to Go on a Parenting Show With My Omega Ex-Girlfriend – Chapter 71

I Know You Will Always Be Mine.

Yu Luo was sore all over, and ended up eating dinner on the bed in the guest room.

Taotao lay sprawled on the edge of the bed watching Mommy eat, and asked in a worried, soft voice, “Mommy, you were fine before bed yesterday, how did you suddenly get sick?”

Yu Luo’s movements paused. She explained gently, “I’m not sick, I just didn’t sleep very well.”

Taotao blinked her eyes and earnestly instructed Qi Song, who was beside them, “Mama, you have to take good care of Mommy tonight and coax her to sleep!”

Qi Song’s eyelashes trembled slightly as her gaze met the cub’s innocent eyes. Under the teasing, faint smile from the woman beside her, she nodded guiltily in agreement.

How was she supposed to explain that she was, in fact, the one who had “taken care of” Yu Luo into this state?

And because of that, she had also been deprived of the right to “take care” of her—

When it was time to sleep, Yu Luo really did make her go to the sofa, declaring that she needed to curb her arrogant flames in bed.

Last night, she had gone much further than they had agreed upon beforehand. Qi Song was the one in the wrong, so she didn’t dare say another word.

But this kind of “conflict” wasn’t something to be performed in front of their cub, so the two of them first coaxed Taotao to sleep together.

The small, exquisitely carved child closed her eyes, her long, thick lashes casting shadows beneath them. Her breathing gradually evened out, and her face, which resembled both Yu Luo and Qi Song, was exceptionally pure and peaceful at this moment.

Qi Song’s gaze drifted upwards unconsciously, landing on Yu Luo’s refined and otherworldly profile, and the exceptionally gentle expression she wore while watching her daughter.

This is my lover and my daughter.

At this thought, Qi Song’s heart trembled, and the tip of her nose couldn’t help but sting. With her memory loss, every time she was abruptly confronted with this kind of happiness without any buffer, she would be struck numb, filled with both joy and helplessness.

Noticing Qi Song’s unsteady breathing, Yu Luo turned her head to look.

She seemed to know what Qi Song was thinking. She reached out a slender, fair hand and, as if comforting a puppy, ruffled the top of Qi Song’s head, then continued down, skillfully scratching the young woman’s delicate chin.

Then, she leaned over slightly and gave Qi Song a peck on the lips.

Although her actions were meticulously and thoughtfully coaxing, Yu Luo’s face remained unhurried as she said, “Even if you make such a pitiful face, you still have to sleep on the sofa.”

She knew very well that the moment right after being petted was when a puppy was most obedient.

“Mm,” Qi Song gazed at her, full of reluctance, for a few seconds, then obediently picked up a blanket and went to lie down on the sofa by the bed.

The master bedroom’s large bed was soft and spacious, while the sofa was rather narrow. In contrast, sleeping on it alone at night seemed a bit miserable.

Qi Song curled up to sleep, the blanket haphazardly draped over her, leaving a large part of her arms and long legs exposed.

This bitter flesh plan1, Yu Luo had already fallen for it once last night. The consequences were still fresh in her mind; she would absolutely not step into that trap again.

So she turned over without a word, held their cub, and slept with her back to Qi Song.

Exhausted, she quickly fell into a deep sleep.

In a daze, Yu Luo felt someone press against her from behind, gathering both her and the cub into an embrace.

“Jiejie and I have a daughter…”

When that person murmured this, her voice was filled with a pure and blazing warmth, as if she were supremely happy.

Afterward, however, she gradually fell silent, wordlessly holding her and the cub even tighter.

Yu Luo tried to struggle out of her heavy slumber to properly comfort the person behind her.

Perhaps sensing that she was about to wake, that person patted her slowly and gently with a force she was most accustomed to, coaxing her in a low voice, easily making her tumble back into sleep.

Feeling the woman’s breathing become steady and even once more, Qi Song’s features relaxed. She lowered her head and buried it in the nape of Yu Luo’s neck, fondly inhaling her clean fragrance—

The scent of body wash, and the faint fragrance of her pheromones, which had never fluctuated in concentration since their reunion.

The tip of her nose, separated from the skin of the nape by the woman’s soft, dark hair, couldn’t help but nuzzle against it.

Yu Luo’s body instantly trembled slightly, showing faint signs of waking again.

Qi Song froze, realizing the spot she had just nuzzled was precisely Yu Luo’s gland.

Her heart skipped a beat, and then a memory surfaced, a detail she had temporarily forgotten due to being drunk—

Last night had been too unrestrained, her heart filled with passion. Bolstered by alcohol and intense emotions, the physiological impulse she usually took care to suppress out of consideration for Yu Luo’s feelings had surged forth.

And so, for a moment, the tips of her teeth had pressed against Yu Luo’s gland, slowly applying pressure.

As an Alpha, she couldn’t avoid the desire to completely possess the Omega she loved with her whole heart and soul.

But even in that moment of lost reason, amidst the person beneath her’s slight trembling and the tense whimper that escaped her, the instinct to cherish her surged up, and she had stopped just in time.

Only to hear Yu Luo say in a low, panting voice:

“If you want to… you c-can mark me now.”

As she said this, her fingers gripping the bedsheet tightened until her fingertips turned white. She whispered,

“Anyway, before the variety show ends, you have to mark me…”

It was as if “marking” was some kind of unavoidable task, just like bringing the cub on the show or caring about “screen time.”

But in her muddled state, Qi Song failed to notice the meaning behind Yu Luo’s words. She held the woman in her arms and said earnestly, “If Jiejie is scared, then I won’t do it…”

And so, in the end, it came to nothing.

Snapping back from the memory, Qi Song lightly bit her lip. She pushed aside the hair on the nape of Yu Luo’s neck and, by the moonlight, saw the Omega’s gland.

When not stimulated, it was just a patch of fair, delicate skin.

Her fingertip cautiously touched it. Feeling that fragile, thin tenderness, her heartbeat accelerated in the woman’s soft warmth.

There was an unspeakable secret hidden here, too.

“Jiejie, who is forcing you?” Qi Song murmured, lost in thought.

Forcing things to the point that “marking,” an extremely intimate and sacred act between lovers, could be tainted with a sense of compulsion.

The final episode of the variety show was being filmed in Norway.

It was already November. In this season, the aurora could often be seen in high-latitude regions.

Hearing Mama and Mommy discussing it, Taotao blinked her eyes. “I want to see the aurora!”

Qi Song ruffled her head and smiled. “If we’re lucky, we should be able to see it.”

The location the production team chose for the shoot was the city of Tromsø2, Norway. It was the largest city in Northern Norway and a famous “aurora hotspot.”

A thought occurred to Qi Song, and she turned her head to ask Yu Luo, “Jiejie, have you ever seen the aurora before?”

In her memories from before she transmigrated into the book, there was an aurora.

It seemed to be during a location shoot in Northern Europe for a film. She had finished work late at night and stumbled upon the aurora by chance.

It should have been a dreamlike and magnificent scene, and the crew members beside her were all exclaiming in delight. But that day, standing under the vast curtain of light, she had only felt exceptionally lonely.

So lonely that she couldn’t bear to stay for even a second longer. She had fled from that aurora as if escaping, head down, hurrying back to the hotel, pulling the curtains tight, and hiding under the covers.

Thinking back on it now, Qi Song could no longer quite grasp the feeling of wanting to escape, nor could she understand that inexplicable emotion.

But she didn’t care. Because during this time, she had been faintly trying to process her “pre-transmigration” memories as mere fantasies, and had gained a sense of peace from it.

“I’ve never seen the aurora,” Yu Luo turned her head and gave her a faint smile. “But I’ve always wanted to.”

There were no direct flights between B City and Tromsø. They had to fly to the capital of Norway first and then transfer to Tromsø.

In November, Tromsø had already entered winter. The entire city was draped in silver, the ground, trees, and rooftops all covered in a thick layer of white snow, appearing beautiful and desolate in the night.

Qi Song observed quietly, feeling that all of this was somewhat familiar.

But the streetscape of Tromsø was clearly different from the Nordic city in her “pre-transmigration” memory where she had seen the aurora.

And yet, before the production team’s car turned a certain street corner, she had a premonition that there would be a church up ahead—

And so it was.

Qi Song’s breathing deepened slightly. She tightened her grip on Yu Luo’s hand and asked, close to the woman’s ear, “Jiejie, does this place look familiar to you?”

Yu Luo was focused on gazing at the scenery outside the window. Hearing the question, she shook her head without hesitation. “This is my first time here.”

“Speaking of which…” A thought occurred to her, and she suddenly let out a light laugh. “I used to yearn for Norway.”

The accommodation arranged by the production team was at a resort.

“After a long day of travel, everyone must be tired. Please rest well tonight. There are no tasks tomorrow. The production team will lead everyone on a tour of Tromsø, and we will wait together to watch the aurora at night.”

The three children all cheered joyfully at this.

And Qi Song, who was always paying attention to Yu Luo, noticed a certain expectant glow quietly rise in the woman’s eyes, ardent and bright.

Qi Song belatedly realized that Yu Luo looked forward to the aurora more than she had imagined. Recognizing this fondness, a sense of urgency suddenly grew in her heart—it seemed she should seize this opportunity to do something.

What should I do?

Many ideas flashed through her mind in an instant. The grand curtain of light seemed to fit any and every momentous occasion.

Before she could react, Qi Song was already online looking at rings. Her brow furrowed slightly in regret.

I should have prepared in advance. This is far too rushed.

Anything given to Yu Luo should be carefully polished with time and heart. If she lowered her standards just to chase a certain scene, the loss would outweigh the gain.

As she thought this, the sudden urgency from a moment ago slowly dissipated.

“What are you doing?” Yu Luo asked curiously, seeing Qi Song staring intently at her phone.

Qi Song flinched, fumbling to turn off her phone. She cleared her throat. “Just browsing online.”

Seeing the young woman act so guiltily and seemingly unwilling to be honest, Yu Luo couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and say pensively, “You’re all grown up now, you have little secrets.”

“Not as many as Jiejie’s secrets,” Qi Song muttered under her breath.

“…Alright.” Yu Luo’s lips moved, admitting it with some guilt. She turned around, preparing to get the pajamas she would change into for her shower.

Qi Song felt that her quiet back held a hint of grievance.

Or maybe it didn’t. Maybe it was purely her own heart aching for her, and thus she had imagined this grievance.

She followed a few steps behind, hugging Yu Luo clingingly from behind. “But no matter how many secrets Jiejie has, I still like you so much.”

“Mm,” Yu Luo’s breathing hitched slightly as she answered softly.

Qi Song gently nuzzled the ends of the woman’s hair and asked a little cautiously, “Are you unhappy?”

“No.”

Yu Luo lowered her lashes, silent for a moment before continuing, “Maybe I’m just too happy.”

The corners of her lips slowly curved up, a deep warmth blooming in her eyes. “Maybe it’s because all of this is about to end. Qi Song, I can’t help but keep looking back…”

“You’ve given so much these past days.”

In a state of knowing nothing, of being lost in the panic and emptiness of losing oneself, anyone would be seized by curiosity and fall into a strong impulse to explore. And yet, Qi Song had silently tolerated all of her secrets, reining in all the questions in her heart for the sake of her situation, and even consistently turned around to comfort her with great care.

During this period, any single misstep could have led to a fall into the abyss. Yu Luo hadn’t actually been handling it with ease; in fact, she often felt as if treading on thin ice. It was Qi Song who had steadily caught her with love.

So much so that even with a certain answer and ending awaiting them the day after tomorrow, within arm’s reach, she felt no anxiety.

At this thought, the tip of Yu Luo’s nose stung. She turned and hugged Qi Song back.

She closed her eyes, gently stroking the head buried in the crook of her neck, her five fingers weaving through the soft, long hair.

“My little puppy,” she murmured with a light laugh.

“It’s strange. I’ve always felt that nothing in this world can be held onto, let alone something that stays for a long time as ‘belonging to me.’ Even with my daughter, I know deep down that one day her wings will be full-fledged, and she will fly towards her own vast sky, and I can only quietly bless her and watch her go.”

“Only you,” she said. “Qi Song, even if…”

Even if you left once before.

“I know you will always be mine.”

The author has something to say:

I won’t elaborate on the last chapter, after all, I am a law-abiding clear water party3 who is on good terms with the censors. I’ll see about adding some supplements after the story is complete, cough cough cough.
