I Miss You So Much.
After the afternoon’s game mission ended, the program team left the time before dinner for the guests to move about freely.
After bathing, the family of three left the hotel. Qi Song held Yu Luo’s and Taotao’s hands, strolling along the coastline, a bit comfortable and leisurely.
Gradually, her line of sight unconsciously fell upon a certain spot to the front right.
Yu Luo followed her line of sight to look, her gaze slightly stagnating.
“Do you want to go surfing?”
She pressed her lips together, her tone somewhat unclear in its meaning.
But the sea breeze blew over, fine waves rolled, and the sound covered up that bit of obscure emotion, so Qi Song was unable to notice.
She pondered for a moment, and said with a bit of caution: “I want to go.”
Actually, on one hand, it was indeed that she somewhat wanted to play. She had always yearned for surfing before, and had specially taken the time out of her busy schedule to learn it, but afterwards never had the time to go play again.
As for the other hand——even though she had already confirmed herself, she occasionally could not help but habitually go and verify some details:
Since the her of now knows how to surf, then does the her of the past in Yu Luo’s eyes know how?
Or is it like fishing, acting as a skill that Yu Luo does not know she possesses, becoming a part that is temporarily difficult to explain. Qi Song could only guess this was because she had never had the chance to show Yu Luo in the past.
“Then let’s go together.” Yu Luo smiled gently at her and replied.
So it turns out Yu Luo also knows how to surf.
Qi Song saw her expression was calm and composed, without any strangeness, and thus determined that Yu Luo knew she could surf. They should have even gone to play together before.
She could not help but feel relieved.
Taotao was too small, and could only be led to the side by the accompanying PD (program director) Xiao Lin, watching Mommy and Mama go change into surfing-specific clothing, and afterwards select and rent surfboards.
The weather today was especially suitable for surfing, and the wind conditions were also excellent. Blue and white waves rolled over layer by layer, neither excessively turbulent, nor lacking in challenge.
After the coach at the side finished explaining the points of caution, Qi Song bent over and placed the surfboard on the sea surface, feeling the flow of the water for a moment.
“Jiejie?” She turned her head and saw Yu Luo standing in place, looking at her in a slight daze, and could not help but call out.
“En.” Yu Luo’s eyes moved, and she returned to her senses.
Qi Song got up, moved closer to hug her, and holding her hand, attempted to walk into the sea together.
“Let’s go together.”
“……No.” Yu Luo stopped in a shallower part of the sea and said softly, “You go first, I’ll see how your technique is now.”
Her tone was slightly teasing, as if bantering that Qi Song had not surfed for too long and her technique would have regressed.
Qi Song smiled, and generously admitted: “It probably has indeed regressed? I haven’t played in too long.”
She turned her head to look at that stretch of sea, and just as she was about to continue walking into the sea, she suddenly heard Yu Luo say, seemingly casually:
“That stuff the surfing coach taught you back then, how much of it do you still remember.”
Qi Song was slightly startled.
This sentence, upon first hearing, seemed to be asking about her current skill level, yet upon careful consideration, it always felt like it was probing for something.
But what could it be probing for? It couldn’t possibly be asking about the coach themself.
Qi Song paused for a moment, and answered truthfully: “I should remember all of it, it’s just that in practical application, it will be a bit rusty.”
“……” Yu Luo’s chest rose and fell once, unobviously.
She nodded naturally on her face, and smiled gently: “Go on.”
That expression and gaze were truly as normal as could be, with no abnormality to be seen.
So Qi Song obediently nodded, and turned to go into the sea.
She had just left by a few steps when the smile at the corners of the woman’s lips behind her froze, and then slowly dissipated.
Yu Luo gazed at the young woman who had her back to her and was gradually moving farther away, and the rims of her eyes faintly and unobviously reddened.
“We clearly agreed that I would teach you……” she murmured almost inaudibly, her voice carrying grievance and loss as it scattered into the sea breeze, no longer touchable.
By the time the seawater submerged her chest, Qi Song had climbed onto the surfboard, her hands lightly paddling at both ends to test it.
Logically speaking, she had only undergone systematic learning during that short period of time in her memory, and afterwards had no opportunity to practice.
Yet at this moment, she was inexplicably skilled. Engaging her core, she quickly stood up steadily on the surfboard.
The next wave came surging not far ahead. She was not the least bit afraid, her body instinctively reacting quickly.
Following a beautiful and highly difficult maneuver, Qi Song faced the wave and leaped out of the sea surface, tracing a dashing and graceful arc in the air, then, treading on the surfboard, she descended swiftly amidst the white-capped spray, finally landing in the calm after the tide had passed.
Cries of praise burst forth accordingly.
However, right in the midst of this passion and cheering naturally brought by surfing, Qi Song suddenly felt very empty inside her heart.
Not the slightest bit of the happiness of conquering the waves that she had imagined.
Suddenly, her heart returning like an arrow1, she only wanted to quickly return to Yu Luo’s presence.
She turned her head and saw the woman she had left on the shore, her figure somewhat blurry due to the overly distant separation. And so that feeling became even stronger.
She almost hurriedly rushed back, without half a bit of the dashing ease from when she was battling the surging waves just now.
“Jiejie.”
Qi Song’s long hair had already been completely soaked by the seawater during the process of surfing, and water dripped, pat-pat, from the tips of her hair.
Just now she was anxious to come back, yet at this moment standing in front of Yu Luo, she was suddenly at a loss for words, somewhat not knowing what to say. But this proximity did indeed fill some of the emptiness in her heart.
No emotion could be seen on Yu Luo’s face anymore. She raised a hand to rub her soaking wet head, and chuckled lightly: “Why are you back. Had your fill of fun already?”
Qi Song’s lips moved slightly, her gaze firmly stuck to her.
“Jiejie……” her voice was a little hoarse when she opened her mouth. She cleared her throat before continuing to speak, “Is Jiejie going to play?”
Yu Luo was silent for a moment, and shook her head.
“Qi Song, I’m a bit tired, let’s play again next time there’s a chance, okay.” She made her tone light and soft, making it sound like sajiao2.
“If you want to play, then continue playing, I will watch you here.”
“I don’t want to play anymore either.” Qi Song held her hand and said in a warm voice, “Then let’s take the cub back to the hotel to rest.”
The two of them went to return the surfboards, changed back into their clothes, and afterwards took Taotao’s hand and returned to the hotel to bathe.
“You go wash first.” Yu Luo said, “Your hair is wet, in a bit you’ll not only catch a cold but also get a headache.”
Qi Song was looking for clothes in the suitcase, and upon hearing this, she raised her head to look at her: “You also went into the sea just now.”
Yu Luo blinked, and as if having realized something, she smiled and said: “So?”
“Jiejie will wash with me.”
After Qi Song finished speaking, she took out Yu Luo’s clothes and placed them on top of her own change of clothes, along with that pitiful last strip of cloth of Yu Luo’s.
When passing by Yu Luo, she took the woman’s hand, and brought her into the bathroom, not allowing for any resistance.
Yu Luo did not say a word, extremely compliant.
Clothes fell, the shower head was turned on, and hot water sprayed out accordingly.
On the glass door that separated the shower stall from the sink counter, mist gradually filled, obscuring the two graceful figures inside until they were hazy and indistinct.
Yu Luo lazily rested her chin on Qi Song’s shoulder.
After coming out of the sea, the dampness on her body had been blown cold by the wind. At this moment, the hot water showered down on her body, washing away the icy cold, and her frozen perception and emotions also became active again.
She closed her eyes, trying hard to suppress them once again.
Qi Song rubbed the shower gel into a cotton-white foam, and then meticulously spread it on Yu Luo’s body, her movements gentle as she massaged her.
The breathing of the woman in her arms gradually quickened from this contact. Qi Song’s gaze was slightly deep and dark, but it was not because of a certain kind of desire.
“Jiejie’s acting skills are very good…… even when you are in front of me.”
The young woman’s voice suddenly sounded by her ear. Yu Luo’s heart trembled, and she slowly opened her eyes.
At that sentence which sounded a bit sharp, her lips moved slightly, and she did not speak immediately.
“I truly cannot accurately see through your mood based solely on your concealed expression.”
“But perhaps it’s a kind of intuition……” Qi Song sighed lightly, her hand slowly stroking Yu Luo’s back, “I always feel that you’re a little unhappy, and I can’t help but care about this point.”
Yu Luo’s heart rose and fell a bit deeply and heavily.
The soft fronts of their bodies were pressed together, so Qi Song clearly felt it.
She held the person a bit tighter, and both of their breaths were somewhat strained due to the surging emotions.
The air fell into a little bit of silence.
Yu Luo’s lips opened and closed. She had not originally planned to say anything, because now was not yet the time when it could be laid out and spoken of.
But now that Qi Song had brought it up on her own initiative, she could not manage to be evasive or perfunctory, merely leaving the other party to fall into speculation and unease.
Many, many words surged up in her heart, and she did not know which sentence to start with——
In the past few years, did you miss me very much?
In the days I was not here, were you also living a very fulfilled and happy life?
In what kind of mood did you learn surfing with someone else, did you faintly think of our promise?
All these kinds of questions churned in her heart, and in the end could only, in a kind of predicament, transform into a simple, direct, yet obscure:
Do you miss me?
However, Qi Song’s answer always arrived before her question.
“I miss you so much.”
The young woman hugged her tightly, their slippery skin rubbing and pressing together because of it.
“Just now while surfing, I don’t know why, I felt so empty inside. I didn’t enjoy it and it wasn’t satisfying at all, I only especially, especially missed you. So I hurriedly came ashore, wanting to immediately go and see you.”
In a state of being unable to devise a single stratagem3, Qi Song did not know how to soothe Yu Luo’s heart. So she could only clumsily and unreservedly be honest about herself, in order to seek a sliver of light in the gloom.
“I even feel that I am a little sick, Jiejie.”
Qi Song lightly rubbed the tip of her nose in the hollow of Yu Luo’s neck, where there were a few messy strands of long, curly hair, mixed with the foam of the shower gel.
This disorder brought her a sense of security.
“I always inexplicably, regardless of time, place, or occasion, fall into a state of crazily missing you…… even if you are right in front of me, in my arms, it’s impossible to completely eliminate this feeling.”
The young woman was close to her ear, bit by bit, in a somewhat bewildered tone, dissecting herself. An unspeakable sincerity and genuineness.
Yu Luo pressed her lips shut, and amidst her unsteady breathing, the glint of tears gradually floated in her eyes.
She thought, if she had been the one to first ask 「Do you miss me?」, and then heard this answer from Qi Song, perhaps she would not have this current trembling and relief.
In Yu Luo’s temporary speechlessness, Qi Song felt something in her heart was on the verge of collapse.
Does Yu Luo think her feelings are pathological? Will she be afraid because of this?
Her speculations grew more and more unbridled in the brief silence, brewing into a deep and heavy worry that pressed down on Qi Song until she was almost unable to bear it.
Just as her emotions were about to fall apart, she finally heard Yu Luo speak, her clear and cold voice carrying a hidden sob:
“Qi Song, it might be a little selfish——but I’m very sorry, this is actually what I want……”
“To just want you to miss me like this, to need me like this, to be unable to leave me……”
“Even when you confide in me so helplessly, I should have shared your burden, and helped you find a solution.”
Yu Luo’s eyelashes trembled lightly, and tears, mixed with the water droplets from the shower, flowed down her cheeks, “But right now I actually only feel satisfaction and pleasure because of this, and hope that you can continue to be sick.”
“What should I do, am I also not lightly sick?” she murmured to herself.
Qi Song’s breath hitched.
In the next second, having completely understood the meaning in Yu Luo’s words, her heart suddenly skipped a beat.
The intense worry and self-criticism from just now instantly turned into mist and dissipated, leaving only an unspeakable feeling of being as if relieved of a heavy burden and fullness in her heart.
“……Then let’s both just not get better.”
It would be better to just let this sickness of excessively craving each other continue to run wild wantonly.
Qi Song raised her hand to caress Yu Luo’s cheek, meeting the woman’s eyes that still held a misty vapor. Then she lowered her head, and unable to restrain herself, kissed her.
In the touch of her soft lips, Yu Luo’s heartbeat could not help but gradually accelerate.
Raising a hand to hook around Qi Song’s neck, in a voice tinged with tears, the final sound was hazy and bewitching: “How much do you not want to get better?”
“Qi Song……” in between kisses, Yu Luo slightly pulled back her lips to pant lightly, a pair of watery eyes looking at her, overflowing with charm, “Use actions to tell Jiejie.”
The shower head was turned on again. The shower stall was filled with hot steam, and the sound of water covered up the faint and indistinct low murmurs and pleased, light sighs.
Water splashed on the floor, two pairs of jade-white tiptoes touching. Later, one of the pairs of feet became unsteady in their trembling, so soft that they staggered backwards a bit.
And then later, only one pair of feet remained standing on the floor.
Amidst the trembling that climbed to the clouds, Yu Luo’s eyes held suspended tears, her bright red lips parted slightly, and at the peak of intense emotion, she suddenly felt like asking 「Do you love me」.
Once again, Qi Song spoke the answer before the question——
In the instant she wanted to ask, Yu Luo heard the young woman, who was drunkenly kissing the corner of her lips, murmur: “I love you.”
