After Agreeing to Go on a Parenting Show With My Omega Ex-Girlfriend – Chapter 22

Hold Me, Okay?

Qi Song’s throat tightened, the heat inside her body surging like a tidal wave.

She was just about to answer 「No need」, but then she heard Yu Luo say: “Forget it, I won’t tease you anymore.”

The pink on the woman’s cheeks was even more pronounced than when she had just emerged from her bath, and a captivating flush even spread across her neck. The cool and otherworldly person was now, unexpectedly, somewhat charming and passionate.

She raised a hand to touch the right side of the back of her neck, her eyes lowering as she sighed softly:

“If you tease me anymore, I won’t be able to take it.”

Qi Song knew where Yu Luo’s hand was caressing.

That was an Omega’s glands, the most fragile and sensitive place on a human’s body.

She couldn’t tell if Yu Luo was intentionally making this gesture in front of her, or if it was a posture that inadvertently revealed this charm without her realizing it.

In any case, this image fiercely assaulted her senses. Her heart subsequently pounded as if it were about to burst from her chest, and her glands ached with swelling.

“You…” Yu Luo lifted her eyes to shoot her a reproachful glance, an unbearable gasp escaping her throat: “Your pheromones…”

Qi Song froze, belatedly realizing that her current pheromone concentration had far exceeded the 10% that would make an Omega sensitive.

Before she transmigrated into the book, her pheromone concentration had always been very stable, never fluctuating so wildly for anyone.

A friend had even said she was frigid.

However, after transmigrating into this body, her glands, from time to time, were like a small dog wagging its tail, joyfully releasing pheromones for Yu Luo.

But she had no way to defend her innocence, to say, 「My heart is actually like a steadfast rock; this is all the influence left behind by the original owner of the body.」

She could only bear the false accusation with tears in her eyes.

Just as Qi Song was about to speak, she suddenly realized that Yu Luo’s pheromone concentration still hadn’t changed at all.

That faint fragrance was light, as if it would never fluctuate for anyone.

So——

The 「can’t take it」 in her words was fake, the rapid gasps were an act, the shy reaction was a performance, and raising her hand to caress her glands was a deliberate provocation.

The one whose heart was like a steadfast rock was actually Yu Luo.

Qi Song couldn’t describe what she felt in that instant.

It was like disappointment, like the vexation of being deceived. Like a basin of cold water had been poured over her head, extinguishing the irrepressible heat she had felt just moments before.

Yu Luo lay on the bed, her gaze sweeping over the insects on the outside of the mosquito net, and she quietly pulled the blanket a little tighter.

She had to admit, Qi Song going to borrow a mosquito net was a stroke of genius.

She rolled over and turned her head to watch her genius and the cub squatting in a corner of the room, discussing insects in a low mutter.

Yu Luo propped her chin on one hand and gazed over there, an endless tenderness welling up in her eyes.

Taotao yawned and said softly, “Mama, I’m sleepy.”

Qi Song said, “Then let’s go take a bath and go to sleep, okay?”

Taotao nodded.

Yu Luo sat up, “I’ll take you to bathe.”

As night fell, the insects in the room grew more rampant, flying around in the air with leisurely ease.

Yu Luo’s hand slowly fumbled for the mosquito net’s zipper. Coincidentally, an insect had landed on the netting not far from the zipper.

She paused.

Taotao came over, trotting on her little short legs, and spoke to her through the mosquito net: “Mommy doesn’t need to come out, there are lots of bugs, I’ll wash myself!”

Taotao was now a little over three years old. Yu Luo usually bathed with her, but to cultivate the child’s self-care abilities, she would sometimes let Taotao wash herself, only needing to supervise from the side.

“You just stay inside the mosquito net, I’ll watch her,” Qi Song said to Yu Luo as she followed behind Taotao.

It was meant to be a considerate suggestion, but Yu Luo instantly noticed that the look Qi Song gave her was very faint.

She couldn’t help but be slightly stunned, reflecting——did I tease her too much about the bath earlier?

It seemed she should take a more gradual approach.

Seeing Qi Song take Taotao to bathe, Yu Luo lay back down with a sense of relief, deciding to stay in this safe corner until the sky grows old and the earth wastes away1.

By the time two more people were on the bed, she had long since drifted off into a drowsy sleep.

The Omega lay on the edge of the bed. In the moonlight, her sleeping face was exceptionally gentle and tranquil, carrying a kind of purity as if she were unfamiliar with the ways of the world2.

The vexation of being deceived today was still fresh in her mind. Qi Song withdrew her gaze, sternly reminding herself:

It’s all an illusion.

The clear moonlight shone through the mosquito net, sprinkling across the woman’s exquisite, jade-like face.

Her eyes were shut tight, her brows furrowed, and her eyelashes trembled uneasily.

Her chest rose and fell, with increasing intensity.

“Qi…” Yu Luo’s eyes suddenly flew open.

She breathed heavily, staring blankly at the dilapidated ceiling. Thinking of something, she turned her head to look at her side.

It was empty.

Yu Luo abruptly sat up, her hands gripping the bedsheet beneath her so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

Her breathing was labored, her eyes vacant. A few seconds later, she reached out with a trembling hand and fumbled for the mosquito net’s zipper.

Several insects were resting on the outside of the mosquito net, one even clinging to the side of the zipper, but she paid them no mind as she quickly unzipped it and got out of bed.

She even forgot to put on her slippers, running barefoot on the rough, dust-covered cement floor. She stepped on something, and a sharp pain shot through the sole of her foot.

Her feet didn’t pause for a moment.

The moon slipped behind the clouds, and the night in the room grew darker.

Qi Song was in the kitchen giving Taotao, who had woken up thirsty in the middle of the night, a drink of water. The power in the house was out; flipping the light switch did nothing.

“Want more?” she asked Taotao.

Suddenly, the muffled sound of footsteps came from behind her, getting closer and closer, and then stopping.

Qi Song turned around.

What met her eyes was Yu Luo’s hazy silhouette in the darkness.

The woman’s long, curly hair was somewhat messy and draped over her shoulders. She must have run over, as her breathing was deep and heavy.

That pair of eyes appeared exceptionally profound in the darkness, gazing at her without blinking for a single moment.

Qi Song met her gaze, and a raw, astringent ache suddenly welled up in her heart.

Abruptly, a flash of white light was so piercing that Qi Song subconsciously closed her eyes. The power supply must have been restored, and the kitchen light turned on.

When she opened her eyes again, Yu Luo’s appearance fell clearly into her view.

The usually cool and noble woman’s eye corners were now red, and sparkling teardrops swayed in her eye sockets, trembling on the verge of falling3.

The gaze she directed at her was like that of an abandoned little beast, utterly distressed and fragile, so fragile she could not withstand a single blow4.

A pair of fair, jade-like feet were bare, standing directly on the cement floor. The big toe was oozing fresh, red blood.

Qi Song’s heart contracted at the sight, and she suddenly felt a sharp pain somewhere in her body.

Or perhaps her whole body ached.

She took a deep, heavy breath, her own eyes beginning to sting, and said in a hoarse voice: “Aren’t you afraid of the dark and afraid of bugs?”

She had clearly said she would stay in the mosquito net until the end of time, so why was she running around in the dark night, ignoring the insects that were brazenly out and about?

Yu Luo stared at her without a word.

A moment later, she slowly began to smile, the tears in her eyes streaming down her cheeks, wetting the curve of her lips.

“…Of course it’s because there’s something I’m more afraid of.”

She walked toward Qi Song step by step, wrapped her arms around Qi Song’s waist, and tightened her hold.

She buried her head in the crook of Qi Song’s neck and let out a low sigh, her voice still laced with the sound of crying, fragile and pitiful.

“Don’t ask… Hold me, okay?”

It must have been that the night was too deep, and everyone had fallen into dreams, muddled and blind.

So much so that in this instant, Qi Song forgot her and Yu Luo’s relationship, and also forgot that she had been deceived not long ago.

An impulse, like an instinct, roared up from the bottom of her heart, pushing her forcefully.

Making her act against her will5, or perhaps, unable to stop herself6.

She reached out and forcefully pressed the lightly trembling person in her arms against herself, their soft bodies clinging together tightly, leaving not a single gap.

Closing her eyes, she rested her chin on the crown of Yu Luo’s head, her voice as soft as if she were coaxing her: “Don’t be afraid.”

You feel sorry for her, you’re done for! (makes the sound of watching a good show) (points while munching on a watermelon)
