I want to hold my wife’s hand.
“Just biting here?”
The woman’s eyes were still flushed from the teasing, yet her words were pure provocation.
There was a sense of disdain, as if to say, You came on so strong, is this all you’ve got?
Qi Song gazed at the Omega’s face, so close her breath hitched.
She should have known that for a player like this, shattering her composure was probably just a bit of fun.
“Mommy…”
The next second, a soft, sweet voice rescued Qi Song from the tight spot she was in. The scorching heat in Yu Luo’s eyes instantly cooled, then slowly dissipated.
The bedroom bed was large. The two adults were currently squeezed onto one side, while Taotao lay on the other.
She had slept until she woke up naturally and subconsciously crawled toward her mommy.
Once Yu Luo reached out and scooped her into her arms, she wriggled comfortably and stared at Qi Song, saying curiously, “Mama’s ears are so red.”
Her little mouth opened and closed, spilling all of Qi Song’s secrets. “Her cheeks are red, and her neck is red, too…”
Taotao worried, “Mama, how did you get so red!”
Yu Luo smiled, burying her face in Taotao’s shoulder, her body trembling with laughter.
After she finished laughing, she followed up on Taotao’s words with a straight face, “That’s right, why is Mama red all over? It’s a bit like she’s shy.”
Taotao nodded in sudden realization. “Shy.”
Qi Song: “…I’m not.”
Taotao put on the air of a little adult and said in a tiny voice, “When they’re shy, grown-ups don’t like to admit it.”
Yu Luo reached out and rubbed her kiddo’s head, coaxing her along. “That’s right. So what does our little one think we should do?”
Taotao blinked her eyes, thought for a moment, and then said coaxingly to Yu Luo, “Mommy, can you give Mama a kiss? Every time I’m shy, a kiss from Mommy makes it all better!”
“That makes sense.”
Yu Luo readily accepted Taotao’s suggestion. She reached out, grabbed the collar of a certain Alpha who was trying to slip off the bed, and hooked her lips into a smile. “Come here, let me help you.”
Qi Song was caught between a rock and a hard place. She couldn’t very well refuse in front of the show’s cameras and Taotao’s expectant gaze, but if she obediently went over, it would be too humiliating!
Fortunately, the Omega saw through her predicament and thoughtfully took the initiative to lean in, her soft lips brushing lightly against her cheek.
It was accompanied by a gentle smile. “There, don’t be shy anymore.”
Taotao immediately asked, “Mama, is that much better?”
Qi Song’s heart was bitter, but under Taotao’s bright gaze, she forced a smile. “Yes… much better.”
She couldn’t help but grumble inwardly that this woman, Yu Luo, really held a grudge. Last night, she had said no hugging and no kissing, but in the short ten minutes since waking up this morning, she had already been hugged and kissed. With such masterful tactics, it was a wonder the original owner, with her love-addled brain, hadn’t been completely bewitched!
Qi Song ignored the strange ripple in her heart when Yu Luo kissed her, pleased that she was far more clear-headed than the original owner.
By the time the family of three had washed up and gone downstairs, a group of people was already seated around the dining table.
Chen Linxin stood up to greet them and led them to their seats.
The man still carried himself with a refined and perfectly courteous demeanor. It was just that the dark circles under his eyes were heavy, as if he had battled all night.
After sitting back down, he thoughtfully served his wife some soup.
What a domestic Alpha.
Qi Song sighed softly and whispered to Yu Luo, “Whether you’re an A or an O, if you can’t control yourself, you’re scum.”
She had said this somewhat deliberately. Not only was she talking about Chen Linxin next to them, but she was also taking a veiled jab at Yu Luo.
But Yu Luo seemed completely immune to it, not taking the bait at all.
Her smile was like a soft, white flower swaying in the spring breeze—clear, bright, and possessing an otherworldly, noble air.
She didn’t seem to have the slightest connection to the word “scum.”
She even replied, “I think so, too.”
Taotao, eating breakfast on Qi Song’s lap, didn’t understand. But whatever her mommy said couldn’t be wrong, so she also nodded and mumbled, “I think so, too.”
As Yu Luo gently reached out to pat the kiddo’s head, the sense of contradiction that had been gradually taking root in Qi Song’s heart seemed to sprout.
After breakfast, the production team issued the first task of the day.
“Parents and babies, please work together to find the crops from the picture book in the village fields. Collect one of each type to receive an admission ticket to the luncheon.”
Taotao looked up and excitedly asked her mommy, “Can we go to the fields to find bugs to play with?”
Yu Luo smiled faintly. “…Yes, we can.”
Taotao placed her hands on her hips, her voice milky and soft, but her words were full of heroic bravado. “I’ll catch the biggest one for Mommy!”
The smile on Yu Luo’s face wavered.
The smile didn’t disappear; it just moved to Qi Song’s face.
Seizing the chance to watch the player squirm, Qi Song praised her kiddo, “Taotao is the best.”
Receiving encouragement, Taotao rolled up her sleeves, revealing tender little arms like lotus roots1, already eager to get started.
Yu Luo shot Qi Song an unreadable look, the only discernible emotion being a thread of resentment.
Qi Song pretended not to see it, but she couldn’t avoid the hand Yu Luo extended to interlace their fingers in front of the camera.
That hand was slender and soft, but it squeezed her hard.
Having started the trouble, Qi Song could only endure it in silence.
Only when the Omega pushed her luck, lightly scratching her palm with a fingertip, did Qi Song tighten her grip on that hand, warning her to behave.
A smile touched Yu Luo’s lips, and she was about to provoke the other woman again. However, she happened to see Chen Linxin’s wife, Zhou Zhou2, passing by and put the thought aside, calling out to her instead.
Zhou Zhou came over with a bewildered look, a hint of nervousness on her face. “Teacher Yu, is something the matter?”
The woman before her was a famous movie empress, and there were many cameras around; she felt extremely uncomfortable.
“Don’t be nervous, I have something I need to tell you…” Yu Luo finished speaking in a gentle voice, then turned to briefly explain to the staff. Once the cameras were no longer pointed at them, she and Zhou Zhou added each other on WeChat.
She first sent a video link, then, after a thought, typed another line of text: If you need help, you can find me.
Sending the video link was something she and Qi Song had discussed, but that last sentence was not part of their plan.
Qi Song’s gaze shifted from the screen to the Omega’s beautiful profile.
From gathering evidence and sending the video to taking on a responsibility she didn’t have to bear and promising to help this woman who had been cheated on during her pregnancy. Every step proved that Yu Luo genuinely couldn’t stand Chen Linxin’s infidelity and sincerely wanted to help Zhou Zhou. Was it just because, as an Omega, she empathized with the difficulties of Zhou Zhou’s pregnancy, or—did Yu Luo really possess such a strong sense of morality and kindness? In fact, if it were only the former, it was already quite unlike something a player would do.
Qi Song pressed her lips together and retracted her gaze.
After Zhou Zhou left, the show’s recording continued.
Although Taotao was impatient to go catch big bugs, she still waited obediently for her mommy and mama to finish their business.
Seeing that they could finally go run wild in the fields, she was so excited that a single lock of her hair bounced up. She muttered about caterpillars and big grasshoppers, making Yu Luo fear the names before even seeing the creatures.
The family of three, holding the picture book, wandered aimlessly to a cornfield.
In the harvest season, the corn stalks were a bit thin and their leaves drooped, but the golden-husked ears of corn had grown mature and full.
Corn was on the picture book. Just as Yu Luo was about to suggest picking one, she heard Taotao whisper, “Here!”
Yu Luo followed the sound and saw Taotao staring at a large green grasshopper, crouching down to catch it like a pro.
Her two small, tender hands were short, but they moved with extreme speed. With one stretch and one cover, the poor grasshopper was unable to escape its doom.
As if she had found a priceless treasure, Taotao held up the grasshopper and ran back, wanting to show her mommy and mama.
Looking at the green thing, Yu Luo couldn’t help but take a step back and had to admit frankly:
“Kiddo, Mommy’s actually a little scared of these things. You can just share with Mama…”
“Aww.” Taotao was a little disappointed, but her eyes quickly lit up again as she stuffed the bug into Qi Song’s hand. “Show Mama!”
Qi Song wasn’t afraid. She held the bug and praised Taotao for her extraordinary skill and bravery just now, making the kiddo beam with delight.
Yu Luo and Qi Song were holding hands, so she was inevitably a bit close to the grasshopper in Qi Song’s other hand.
She warily sensed this was not a safe distance and struggled to let go. But the person who was “forced” to hold her hand in front of the camera suddenly clung on and wouldn’t let go.
“Qi Song, let go…”
Yu Luo bit her lip, her cool, pretty brows furrowed. In a rare display, she whispered, sounding a little anxious and pitiful.
Qi Song looked at her with a sense of novelty.
So, besides the unbearable and alluring state she was in after having her ear bitten, Yu Luo had another look when her composure was broken.
A little lively, a little fresh…
Qi Song couldn’t tell if she was seizing the chance to get back at the player or if she had other intentions, but in any case, she refused to let go.
She raised an eyebrow and said cheekily, “I want to hold my wife’s hand.”
The author has something to say:
Yu Luo: You’d better say the same thing tonight.
