Miss Forensics – Chapter 121.1

Doom

Three days later.

Early in the morning, as the director walked into the office, he saw that Song Yuhang was not at her desk, furrowing his brow slightly.

“Where is Song Yuhang?”

A colleague, munching on a vegetable bun, looked up from his computer and said, “Oh, she clocked in and said she had something to attend to at home, so she took half a day off.”

“This is unacceptable. Always late, leaving early, and taking random days off. Does she think our workplace is a tourist spot?”

Laughter filled the room as they discussed Song Yuhang’s behavior. After all, she used to be a leader in the city bureau, so maybe she was just here to experience life and would eventually go back.

The director’s face went through various shades of red and white, but after a while, he turned and went to make a phone call.

When Song Yuhang received a call from Feng Jianguo, she was in the warehouse moving goods. She wiped the sweat off her forehead with a towel, wiped her hands on her pants, then answered the call, slightly out of breath.

“Hello, what’s up?”

She immediately heard his hoarse and angry roar over the phone.

“Where the hell are you? Complaint calls are flooding in here. Get your ass back to work!”

Song Yuhang held the phone slightly away from her ear.

Suddenly, she felt a heavy slap on her back.

“What the hell are you doing?! Not working properly and being lazy! Be careful, you might not get paid today!”

Song Yuhang quickly hung up the phone and bowed her head, nodding.

“Yes, yes, I’ll get to work, right away.”

Feng Jianguo listened to the busy tone on the phone and was stunned: After spending a few months at the grassroots level, this person had become so bold that they dared to hang up on the director.

He quickly placed the handset back on the phone, then there was a knock on the door.

“Director Feng, everything is ready.”

Feng Jianguo rubbed his forehead, feeling a bit unsettled by the unexpected incident this morning. However, with things already in motion, he had to carry on.

“Alright, let’s proceed according to the plan.”

The warehouse where she was currently working was located in the same logistics park where drugs were discovered last time.

Not long after, as Feng Jianguo had suspected, everything appeared normal. Normal logistics vehicles were coming and going, transporting ordinary goods. What Song Yuhang had seen that night seemed like a bizarre dream.

Even the workers had changed their uniforms.

In these three days, she had managed to get a job here as a regular loader and unloader through a labor service company, paying a high price. She earned a daily wage of fifty yuan, with two meals provided, working from 9 am to 10 pm, with a one-hour break at noon.

There were both men and women in the workshop, most with dark and rough faces, calloused hands, and scars from being scratched by goods.

Song Yuhang blackened her face and mingled with the crowd, not looking out of place.

She quickly bonded with the migrant workers. One of the supervisors had been here for three years and was considered a veteran, but he couldn’t explain what goods were transported here in the past. When pushed for more details, he would become annoyed.

“Why ask so many questions? As long as we can earn money, it’s good enough!”

Not to mention the somewhat mysterious inner workshop that remained locked, with no one entering it.

Perched on a container, wearing a safety helmet, holding a half-eaten pickled vegetable bun, Song Yuhang observed the orderly operation of the entire logistics park, with vehicles coming in to unload cargo from time to time.

These trucks probably make a trip every two hours, and when she finished work at 10 pm, it was the last shift of the night.

Song Yuhang looked at the shadow cast by the sun beneath her feet, roughly estimating the time. As her gaze shifted, she noticed the back door of the logistics park opening, and a few small cars sliding in.

The guard quickly closed the door.

Standing high up, she quickly bent down.

Several people got out of the car, glanced around, and the supervisor she was familiar with approached them, leading them into the workshop.

Song Yuhang rolled off the container, adjusted her safety helmet, forgot about eating the bun, and watched as the group passed in front of her.

A man in desert camouflage vest asked, “Is the cargo ready?”

The supervisor nodded and answered, “All set, all set. Loading is in progress, it will definitely be ready to be shipped out tonight.”

The group swaggered into the workshop, and the shield door came down, blocking all visibility.

Song Yuhang stuffed the bun into her mouth, realizing there would definitely be some significant activity later that night.

“Sister Hong.” Liu Zhi walked in and handed her a piece of paper.

Lin Yan unfolded it and a slight smile appeared at the corner of her lips. She lit up a lighter and burned the paper.

“If you knew she was a spy, why didn’t you kill her?”

Liu Zhi lit a cigarette for her in the glow of the flame, the red lips lightly brushing against it, revealing pearly white teeth.

Lin Yan blew a smoke ring. “No rush, your older brother just died, and she followed soon after. How do you think others would see it?”

“But…” Liu Zhi hesitated.

Lin Yan took a few puffs and then extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray, a hint of determination in her eyes.

“Find a few skilled individuals. We’re going on a trip tonight.”

“Got it.” Liu Zhi nodded and hurried out to make preparations.

“Young Master, the Supreme Lord is meeting with buyers tonight. Would you like to join?”

Lin Ge was engrossed in the perfect ketone body in front of him. He used a surgical knife to open her facial bones, peeled off the skin with a tearing sound, and two eyeballs fell to the ground.

He examined it as if it were a piece of art, holding the skull and looking at it.

“I won’t go. It’s boring to see a bunch of old things almost in the grave talking about business full of the stench of money.”

The assistant received the response, but as he turned to leave, he was called back.

“By the way, has the person who almost killed Song Yuhang last time returned?”

The assistant shook his head, “No, most likely they have met an unfortunate end.”

Lin Ge furrowed his brow, slightly annoyed, and tossed the “artwork” in his hand into a solution, emitting a sizzling sound, filling the laboratory with a pungent smell.

“Damn it.”

The assistant hesitated briefly before speaking.

“She’s very skilled and alert.”

Lin Ge sneered as he washed the blood off his hands.

“If she wasn’t skilled and alert, how could she be the captain of the criminal investigation team?”

“What’s our next step?”

“We wait.”

Waiting for an opportunity to completely kill her.

The attendant looked up in surprise.

He regained his composure.

“Let’s go down.”

His emotions always seemed so erratic, sometimes calm, sometimes manic.

The attendant looked at the blood-stained mess on the floor, his face turning pale. “Yes.”

“Why are you in such a hurry to leave? Stay a while longer.” The woman, disheveled, sat up from the bed.

The man pulled up his pants. “I have something to do tonight; I’ll come back to see you later.”

“What’s the rush? Why are you in such a hurry?” The woman reached out, embracing his waist, her nails grazing his chest.

The man lifted her face, sharing an intimate moment, their lips locked in a secret conversation.

“It’s important, a big shot is coming. Be obedient.”

After a rustling sound, the man left the house dressed and tucked a gun into his waistband. With no one around in the alley, he hurried out, got into a black car, and disappeared into the street.

Almost at the same time, Liu Zhi pushed open the door.

“Sister Hong, they’ve set off.”

A small pistol was laid out in front of Lin Yan. She wiped it with a cloth, blowing away the dust.

“Let’s go too, to meet the Supreme Lord.”

In the afternoon, the supervisor assigned some people to unload the goods. Song Yuhang also approached with a sheepish look on her face, pulling the person to a corner and handing over a pack of good cigarettes.

“Boss, my younger brother is still in school, and my parents got injured early on and can’t work. Give me a chance to earn money; you are like my second parents.”

The supervisor saw the cigarette, Soft Chunghwa, not bad, quite classy. Seeing a woman hanging around here all day with a dirty and tired face, he felt a bit sympathetic.

“Okay, you can come too. Work hard, there will be pay for you.”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, Boss.”

Song Yuhang nodded and bowed, respectfully seeing the person off. Once they were gone, her expression turned cold and stern again.

She finally entered the workshop as she wished, wearing a safety helmet and a mask, working alongside other specially chosen individuals.

She noticed that these people had more experience in the industry, and a few even had some martial arts skills.

If she moved slowly, she would attract fierce glares from them, and then a whip harshly struck her body.

“What are you looking at? Get back to work!”

The supervisor hurried over and handed a cigarette to the man who had struck her. “Calm down, calm down, the newcomer doesn’t know any better.”

“Even newcomers can be arranged to work inside?” The man gave her a menacing look.

As they spoke, the workshop door opened again, and the camouflage-clad man from the morning walked in with two or three others.

The man who had struck her quickly slid down from the container, stood up straight, and bowed. “Hello, Brother Tiger.”

Song Yuhang and the others, with their heads down, mumbled, “Hello, Brother Tiger.”

Carefully peering at his face hidden under the safety helmet, Song Yuhang felt a shock in her heart.

She had seen his name in the newspaper: Tiger!

A once-famous drug dealer in Southeast Asia, a retired special forces soldier, and an international mixed martial arts champion.

Such a prominent figure was just a lackey. How deep did the waters behind this go?

Tiger, cigar in hand, casually walked over and used a knife to puncture open a cardboard box, revealing bottled liquids inside.

He was very pleased.

“Not bad. Keep working; by seven o’clock, everything should be loaded onto the trucks and ready to go with me.”

Several trucks were already parked at the logistics park’s entrance, ready and waiting.

The crowd acknowledged with a grunt and went back to work, focusing on their tasks.
