Plan B
Extra
Su Xin was already floating1 in front of Qiu Qingqing to begin with, and after they got together, Su Xin became even more inflated.
She acted coquettish in all sorts of ways, and Qiu Qingqing was still happy as could be to wait on her.
Qiu Qingqing couldn’t wait for Su Xin to act cute with her and throw a small temper at her, because the more Su Xin was like this, the more it proved she cared about her.
Towards people she didn’t care about, Su Xin wouldn’t even bother to acknowledge them; only with those she cared for would she show her emotions.
Su Xin didn’t know why, but while she had been a little better before, after they laid their cards on the table, she had practically transformed into a coquetry spirit2.
Not long after confirming their relationship, Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing went to the organization to resign.
The number of jobs they had taken over the years was more than enough. Of course, resigning absolutely did not mean cutting off all contact—how could they get clean that easily? It was just that they would no longer be registered with the organization, meaning they would no longer be protected by it. If someone wanted to cause trouble for the two of them, the organization would not intervene.
The Boss asked why they wanted to resign, and Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing gave a straightforward answer.
Now that they were together, they naturally wanted to settle down and could no longer take risks so casually. Their sense of responsibility was stronger, and they would definitely maintain their home well.
After the two of them left the organization, they didn’t go anywhere, just stayed at home.
“Tsk, what kind of mindset is that.”
Su Xin put down her phone and stretched her body; she was a bit tired after playing games all afternoon.
Qiu Qingqing kneaded her shoulders for her, being extremely thoughtful.
“So good. Then, do you still want to kiss me?”
“Of course.”
Qiu Qingqing lowered her head and kissed Su Xin’s lips, ending with a lingering, wet kiss.
Su Xin was a dog-type girlfriend3: enthusiastic, clingy, loved to act cute, and was direct and adorable.
She would ask for kisses while acting cute, making it impossible for anyone to refuse.
Qiu Qingqing often listened to her own heartbeat, feeling like she was about to be ‘meng’-ed4 to the point of fainting by Su Xin.
Taylor Swift’s beautiful voice echoed in the room. Qiu Qingqing lowered her eyes and licked Su Xin’s lips again.
Su Xin placed her phone a bit further away, hugged Qiu Qingqing, and rolled onto the bed.
The way you move is
like a full on rainstorm
and I’m a house of cards
You’re the kinda reckless
that should send me run
But I kinda know that
I wont get far
…………
Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing had already made plans: they would live together for a dozen or so years, and if, at that time, they still couldn’t let each other go and wanted to continue living, then they would do as before and continue taking missions to earn lifespan.
It didn’t matter if Qiu Qingqing forgot in the mission worlds, because Su Xin knew that no matter what, this person would be attracted to her, and she, likewise, would be infatuated with her.
Before, Su Xin had considered Qiu Qingqing a very good friend—the kind where even if they hadn’t seen each other for a long time, they could sit down and eat hotpot together. There was no need for polite greetings or to say “long time no see.” They could just roll up their sleeves, eat, and share what they had been through, as if they had never been apart. When they were separated and busy with their respective missions, they didn’t need to deliberately recall their time together, because they had never forgotten.
Su Xin was once very happy to have such a friend, and now she was very happy that this friend had become her lover.
May I win a person of one heart, who will not leave me even when our hair turns white5.
【Wedding Chapter】
Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing were getting married.
They thought it over and over, and as for the wedding, it seemed there were no guests they could invite.
The organization was full of lone wolves6; occasionally, there were fixed partners.
In the organization, only the weak needed to live in groups; the strong had always walked alone. Of course, there were exceptions.
Su Xin only had Qiu Qingqing as a partner, and Qiu Qingqing also only had her.
“Otherwise… let’s not have a wedding.”
Su Xin sat with Erlang’s leg crossed7. A wedding was just a formality, a testament to let all their friends and family know they were together and married. But since the two of them didn’t have any friends or family, it was completely meaningless.
In the end, there was a wedding, but it was true that there were no guests.
Two women in wedding dresses, under the witness of a priest, possessed each other in a sacred name.
“I, in the name of God, do solemnly swear: to accept you as my wife, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”
“I, in the name of God, do solemnly swear: to accept you as my wife, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”
There were no guests, nor were guests needed, just as when Qiu Qingqing narrated Su Xin’s life, no one else needed to be present to listen.
“Actually, I don’t believe in God.”
“I don’t either.”
The two looked at each other and smiled. Su Xin lifted the hem of her wedding dress and ran ahead in her high heels. Amused, Qiu Qingqing also lifted her skirt and gave chase.
Running along the riverbank of a foreign country in wedding dresses—this was truly crazy. Qiu Qingqing never thought she would do something like this, but with Su Xin around, nothing was impossible.
Su Xin was like a little lunatic who would charge straight through horizontally and vertically8 in her world. But it was fine; she had brought her little lunatic home after all.
The two of them took many wedding photos: proper ones, goofy ones, intimate ones. Every single one was filled with happiness.
The photographer was also very excited while shooting. She had photographed many couples—some were so sweet you could see their happiness at a glance, others were cold, as if handling public matters as public matters9. How a relationship truly was could not be hidden under the lens.
“Please be happy.”
The photographer smiled brightly and waved the camera at them.
“Yes, we will.”
Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing shared a look of mutual understanding and said in unison.
The happiest thing in the world is none other than the fact that I love you, and you happen to love me too.
【Honeymoon Chapter】
The location for their honeymoon was a place with sun and sandy beaches.
Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing were both in bikinis, showing off their great figures.
Qiu Qingqing was a bit fairer than Su Xin because she wore clothes that could wrap her up all year round and basically stayed home without going out when she didn’t have missions. Su Xin, on the other hand, was more of a wave,10 and liked to float around everywhere.
Su Xin was applying sunscreen for Qiu Qingqing, grinning as she ate tofu11.
“I’m going to get a drink.”
After finishing, Su Xin patted Qiu Qingqing’s back and walked towards the place selling drinks.
“Mm.”
When Su Xin returned with two drinks, she saw two men standing next to Qiu Qingqing. One was a foreigner, the other had an Eastern face. That foreigner was trying to talk to Qiu Qingqing, but she was so aloof and cool that she didn’t respond with a single word.
“Man, are you after my wife?”
Su Xin placed the drinks on the table. Qiu Qingqing sat up and took Su Xin’s hand.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know…”
“Now that you know, you can say goodbye.”
Su Xin said impatiently, not caring if the foreigner could understand her.
The foreigner wanted to say more but was pulled away by the man next to him.
“All right, let’s go. Didn’t you see the ring on their ring finger?”
That man patted the foreigner. Rest your B, bro12, they’ve got rings on their ring fingers.
“My wifey is really popular. I was only gone for a moment and someone already came to hit on you.”
Su Xin kissed Qiu Qingqing. It was meant to be just a light kiss on the cheek, but they ended up getting closer and closer. She used the tip of her tongue to trace Qiu Qingqing’s lip line, moistening them without probing inside, tempting Qiu Qingqing to tease back.
But Su Xin remembered they still had to continue having fun. She pinched Qiu Qingqing’s waist, and the two of them got into position to enjoy their sunbath together.
See, life is just this full of sunshine.
【Daily Life Chapter】
Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing bought a dog, an Alaskan Malamute. When they brought him home, he was still a puppy, soft and fluffy, and exceptionally quiet. His wet eyes darted around, very cute.
Alaskan Malamutes don’t bark much, and the one Su Xin raised was even more of a quiet, handsome man13.
His name was Knight. It was fine when he was small, but when he grew up to be so big, he would always lie quietly at their feet while Su Xin played games and Qiu Qingqing read a book. His tail would occasionally wag, and he would let out soft whimpers when Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing touched him. His gaze always followed his owners, and whenever he was taken out for a walk, he wouldn’t make a fuss or run around randomly, staying by Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing’s side like a loyal knight.
The daily routine at home was like this.
Qiu Qingqing and Su Xin had a regular schedule. They would wake up at seven every day, take Knight for a morning jog, and after jogging back, Qiu Qingqing would make breakfast while Su Xin prepared the dog food. Then, the family of three would eat breakfast together.
After breakfast, Qiu Qingqing would usually choose to play games with Su Xin. If Su Xin wasn’t playing games, she would read a book.
If Su Xin wasn’t gaming, she would go practice her boxing and do various training exercises. Although she no longer needed to go on missions, it didn’t mean she could slack off. Training helped her maintain a cheerful mood.
In the afternoon, Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing would go swimming, and after that, they would do their own things.
After dinner, Su Xin would watch TV. In the winter, without Su Xin having to ask, Knight would bite onto a blanket and drag it over. Su Xin would pat his head, and Qiu Qingqing would cut up some fruit and bring it over for Su Xin to eat while watching TV.
The Alaskan Malamute had long, soft fur. Su Xin liked to ‘lu’ him14, and then she would comb his fur nicely. An Alaskan Malamute is a large breed, so it wasn’t easy for Su Xin to carry him after he grew up. But sometimes, when she was playing with Knight, they would roll around on the bed, with Knight flailing his four legs and licking her face full of saliva.
At times like these, Qiu Qingqing would usually stand by helplessly, watching Su Xin and Knight fool around, waiting to clean up the remnants of the game.
One day, Knight came back carrying a small thing in his mouth.
It was an injured, dirty cat without a tag. After Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing took it to the pet hospital to be cleaned and treated, they discovered it was an American Shorthair, likely abandoned.
This American Shorthair was very thin and had probably been stray for some time.
If Knight hadn’t carried it back, it might not have survived the night.
Su Xin named it Lanlan. Perhaps because it had been hurt before, it wasn’t very close to Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing. It usually stayed by Knight’s side, sleeping next to Knight and refusing to go back to its own cat bed, living instead in Knight’s dog bed.
When Knight was lying down, Lanlan would also lie down, pawing at Knight’s paws, quiet and well-behaved.
Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing didn’t deliberately try to get close to Lanlan. They would take it out with them every day and prepare delicious food for it.
One morning, Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing both got a face full of saliva. Knight had jumped onto their bed to wake them gently, and this time, Lanlan, imitating Knight, also licked Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing with its small tongue.
To have a big house, with a garden and a swimming pool, a cat and a dog, and the one you love by your side.
“Qiu Qingqing, have I ever told you that I love you?”
“You have, but I want to hear it for a lifetime.”
“This, well, I’ll do it with difficulty and agree to your request.”
Qiu Qingqing lifted Su Xin up horizontally in her arms. The large movement startled Lanlan, who jumped off the sofa. Knight quickly grabbed it in his mouth to protect it in his embrace, and the small one and the big one started playing together.
Ah, life, with this, there are no more regrets.
May you live your whole life with no complaints and no regrets.
The author has something to say:
Every time I reach the end, it seems I have a lot to say.
Many gay friends have said that it’s amazing I’ve written so much in one book, but I don’t think it’s amazing at all. Without your companionship, I couldn’t have persevered.
I’m a person who relies heavily on motivation. Those who know me know that I don’t have saved drafts; I always publish right after I finish writing. I’m not afraid of being urged for an update; what I’m afraid of is no one urging me.
I can’t bear to leave you all for a long time!
The successor new text is 《The Ghost-Encountering Dailies of a Pseudo-Blind Person》, a sticky little sweet cookie15. It will start updating tomorrow, which is 12.19, so let’s not see, not scatter!16
