Fate Trading System – Chapter 297

Plan A

Running with the Ball1 1

“Do you know what I was just thinking?”

“Thinking about how to blast me to smithereens with water magic?”

“Wake up, we’ve already left that world. But… you’re not wrong about what I was thinking.”

“Then go ahead and hit me. I’ll just lie here obediently.”

Slayer’s eyes crinkled with a smile as she entered Su Xin’s home.

Slayer once again walked into the vortex of power, with all those subordinates who remained loyal to her paving the way.

Slayer’s goal was very simple. Although her wifey was very rich, she couldn’t just let her wifey support her forever, right?

A wave of adoring fanboys and fangirls went wild, elevating Slayer to the status of a national idol.

One group of people was shouting “husband2” in the comments, another group was proposing marriage, and yet another was clamoring to give the goddess monkeys3.

Whenever Slayer posted an update on her social media account, she would be met with a collective confession of love from her fans.

One day, Slayer posted an update.

【Slayer】: A confession from a married person. Wifey, I love you the most in the whole world.

Attached was a photo, a shot of someone’s back.

Did Slayer Marry Me Today: F#ck f#ck f#ck, waaaah, I don’t know if I should be sad or happy, it feels like I just got dumped, crying my eyes out!

Did Slayer Take Me As A Wife Today: Is it real! Unbelievable! Shocking! But I must still bless you through my tears! May you live a long and happy life together! 【Heartbreak】

Slayer-dada’s4 Little Fangirl: You two upstairs… why don’t you get together?

Choking on This Move: From my professional point of view, this picture isn’t P’d! It doesn’t even have a filter! Wow, the Big Boss’s wifey is drop-dead gorgeous!

Su Xin looked at the photo, frowning slightly.

“When did you take this?”

“Wifey, don’t be angry!”

Slayer sidled up to admit her mistake. She had indeed taken that photo secretly.

“What’s there to be angry about? This one wasn’t taken very well. You should have asked me to pose for it.”

Su Xin tutted, criticizing Slayer’s photography skills. And she didn’t even use a beauty filter!

“Wifey is the most beautiful in my eyes!”

Slayer hugged Su Xin and acted spoiled. How could you make me not love you when you’re like this.

【Mission settlement complete. Memories have been blurred. Returning to the real world. Remaining lifespan: 129 months. Host, please cherish your life and have fun. See you next time.】

See you.

While Su Xin was sound asleep, Qiu Qingqing was plunged into a strange mood.

Qiu Qingqing washed her face and recorded her memories in her notebook.

This looks really bad. Here, I can only wear the cloak of a friend, while that person is willing to accept me during the times I don’t even remember.

If I let her know about those things… then would things be different?

【Miss Qiu, you should remember our confidentiality agreement.】

Fourteen, you’re really not cute like this.

【This one does not require cuteness.】

I know.

After Qiu Qingqing finished recording the important things, she placed the notebook in a drawer and locked it.

Everything will be alright.

When people work tirelessly toward a single goal, there will always come a time when their wishes are fulfilled.

【I wish you the fulfillment of your desires.】

Thank you for your blessing.

When Su Xin woke up, she learned a piece of good news: they could leave this place now, without having to stay for a few more months.

Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing returned to Qiu Qingqing’s home.

“Phew, it feels really good to be back. I haven’t been back to my own home in so long, it’s probably covered in dust everywhere.”

Su Xin sat with her legs crossed5 in Qiu Qingqing’s already-cleaned living room, letting out a sigh of emotion.

“Don’t be lazy. Come on, help me clean the windows.”

Qiu Qingqing carried a bucket filled with clean water, a rag soaking inside it.

“Alright, if you think I can get them clean.”

Su Xin took the rag and walked outside.

They played around with each other through the pane of glass, not like they were twenty-five, but like they were fifteen.

Su Xin barely managed to wipe her side clean, while Qiu Qingqing’s was much cleaner.

They cleaned many areas, getting their faces covered in dust.

“Look at you. You look a bit like you did when I first saw you.”

Seeing Qiu Qingqing’s appearance, Su Xin had a mischievous thought and wiped another smudge of dust onto her.

Qiu Qingqing snorted coldly, and in the next moment, used her own grimy hand to pinch Su Xin on the chest.

“F#ck, what are you doing! Being a pervert?!”

“One more word of nonsense, and I’ll pinch your chest till it bursts.”

“So scary. Anyway, you’re the one doing the laundry!”

Qiu Qingqing’s mood, however, improved greatly. Of course, she hadn’t used much force.

Su Xin was truly reminded of how she and Qiu Qingqing first met.

Qiu Qingqing was different from her. Su Xin’s parents had both passed away, and she was sent in due to the special nature of her parents’ work; it could be considered inheriting her father’s business6, in a way.

But Qiu Qingqing was not.

Back then, Su Xin had been sent into that dark room, dressed spotlessly clean.

There were many children inside, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.

Su Xin noticed Qiu Qingqing at a glance. She was sitting in a corner, her gaze icy cold, yet she was also watching her.

She was as grimy as the other children, a little frail, looking nothing like she did now.

Someone was eyeing the little teddy bear Su Xin had brought in with her, but Su Xin hated having her things snatched away.

Although her parents had no intention of letting her come into contact with certain things, Su Xin had been interested in them since she was young. She would train on her own without her parents’ supervision, possessing a self-control that surpassed other children.

Everyone who tried to snatch Su Xin’s teddy bear was beaten to the ground by her, though the price was the scrapes on Su Xin’s body, her tattered and dirtied princess dress, and her pulled hair.

Su Xin sat down next to Qiu Qingqing without a care in the world.

And so, they became good friends.

Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing went to clean the storage room and discovered something.

“Whoa, why did you still keep this?”

What Su Xin held in her hand was the very teddy bear she had just been thinking about. The doll was already very worn, in a style from over a decade ago. It had been washed very clean and was placed inside a glass case.

“For its sentimental value.”

The corners of Qiu Qingqing’s lips curled up gently. That day, Su Xin had given her the doll as a symbol of their friendship, even though the bear was already stained with a lot of blood.

“Little Bear has been my friend for several years. Now, I’m giving him to you.”

When little Su Xin said this, little Qiu Qingqing had almost cried.

Qiu Qingqing was a street urchin. Her biological parents died in a fire, and she was sent to an orphanage. Later, she was adopted, but her adoptive father was a bad person who constantly abused her, so she ran away, only to be abducted by human traffickers. Although Qiu Qingqing was small, she was crafty; she deliberately feigned obedience and then escaped again.

She wandered through different places until she was finally bought by the organization.

Qiu Qingqing had little sympathy for others. To her, her own life was what mattered most.

When Su Xin came in hugging the doll, she was only interested in Su Xin, not the bear. She had no fondness for childish, cute toys.

When Su Xin fought to protect her doll, Qiu Qingqing had even thought she was being foolish.

If it had been Qiu Qingqing, she would have pretended to give the doll away, let them fight over it, and then she would reap the benefits herself7.

But when Su Xin sat with her and gave her the doll, she found herself unable to resist accepting it.

Friendship. It sounds wonderful.

But in the end, it was she who grew dissatisfied.

Greedy thoughts devoured Qiu Qingqing.

She no longer wanted to be satisfied with just being friends; she wanted to possess Su Xin completely.

I want her.

Qiu Qingqing’s heart was very small, small enough to only hold one person.

But this person was still smiling cheerfully in front of her, knowing nothing at all.

Su Xin placed the little bear back in the glass case and continued looking at the other things.

“This looks a bit familiar. Isn’t this the broken hairpin I gave you back then? Why are you still keeping it?”

“Wow, and this too. Why did you keep all of this?”

“For their sentimental value. Once you’re done looking, head out first. I’ll clean up here.”

Qiu Qingqing gave the same answer as she began to wipe away the dust.

“Okay-dokey.”

Su Xin grinned, gave Qiu Qingqing a hug, and walked out. The feeling of being so valued by someone is truly wonderful.

Qiu Qingqing wiped down those items, sighing inwardly.

This is fine, too. I’ll just keep enduring. This is already the best possible outcome, Qiu Qingqing comforted herself.

Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing spent a month at home training and lazing around, and also planned their next trip.

They had a lot of free time. After all, missions didn’t come every day, and Su Xin and Qiu Qingqing didn’t accept tasks on the dangerous fringe.

It wasn’t like before when they needed to build their reputation. Back then, Qiu Qingqing and Su Xin took on missions frequently, but now they were no longer so desperate.

Su Xin cherished her life immensely. If it weren’t for Fourteen, she would have been GAME OVER long ago, with no way to fool around at all.

Qiu Qingqing cherished her life too. She hadn’t even truly gotten together with Su Xin yet, how could she bear to die?

A month passed, and Fourteen arrived as promised.

【Host, this mission is a bit special. You should consider whether you want to accept it.】

How is it special?

【The client this time is pregnant and on the verge of a miscarriage. If Host goes, the child may or may not survive.】

Wow, that’s intense. What’s the background?

If it’s some dangerous background, I’m definitely not taking it. How are you supposed to fight while carrying a ball?

【Parallel plane, modern background. The client is not involved in any fringe professions.】

So she’s an ordinary citizen in a society ruled by law, right? No need to fight or take risks? No climbing mountains or diving into the sea?

【Not required.】

Okay, I’ll take it. By the way, how many months along is she?

【Two months.】

Take it, take it, take it.

Su Xin was actually a little curious. She had never been a pregnant woman before.

【Now proceeding to the system space to meet the client for the handover.】

The client was a beautiful woman, about twenty-seven years old, wearing light makeup, her face pale.

“My wish is, if you can save my child, please let them grow up well. I don’t even know if it’s a boy or a girl yet. I also want those bastards who owe me, to pay back everything they owe.”

“No problem.”

Probably some melodramatic8 urban revenge drama?

As Su Xin entered the body, she felt a sharp pain.

A car crash scene. Something was flowing out from her lower body.

Su Xin’s head was spinning. She fumbled for her phone, pressed the first number in her call history, and weakly begged for help.
